@@keithbennett5179 Just ordered 2 and some super clamps. You didn't have a link to B&H. May want to get a affiliate link from them. I try to order all of my A/V equipment through them to support American businesses. Come on Merica
@OhioShaves thanks… WA state has some issues with New York affiliates so I don’t have a link but I will add an Amazon Affiliate in the morning. Thanks for watching!
@@keithbennett5179 we need to throw the politics out the window and let people make money. You're a great content creator and you can't even use an affiliate link from New York City. That's complete BS. I hope this changes for you my friend because you do a very good job.
I have a 11ft wide room with a sloped ceiling and my two light stands were always getting in my way. These sound like a great solution that won't require me to drill into my walls.

Thank you for this solution! Am I overlooking the link for the lights used? I have the standard 18" ring lights and wondered if there was a way to suspend them from the ceiling since they take up so much floor space. Thank you again!
Quick question if you get a moment. I just got mine but the sticker just says auto pole but without the “2” written on the sticker/label. It has the same handle design but it also doesn’t have a dampened pole which I thought manfrotto came with. I’m just trying to make sure mine is indeed the latest. It is marked #432. My feet are also flexible meaning the ends can move a little to accommodate spots that are not completely flat. I know the impact brand has that feature. Thanks!
I'm not sure about the hand written 2 if it looks exactly like my handle it should be the same one it does come in more than one length. I did not test any dampening because I'm using it from wall to wall not floor to ceiling and it's up with lights on it and not coming down currently. I love it and it does what I needed it to do. The my ends have rubber pads so they do have some flex but they are mainly designed to provide give for the compression when locking the handle. Sorry for not seeing your question it was held for review for some reason....
@@keithbennett5179 no problem thanks for the reply. I would have definitely appreciated the dampening. It was the main reason I paid more for these instead of just going with the IMPACT brand. I have some IMPACT C stands and they are built as good as my Avengers but I kept leaning towards the Manfrottos. Autopoles are super handy to have around aside from using it as backdrop holders. I ordered 4 in total to have some flexibility. 💪
Never owned the first one but the handle of version two the handle to expand is easier to use. The original I believe was heavier and actually advertised to use from wall to wall and not just ceiling to floor.
What room size was the autopoles installed in? I have a 11x11 room and was wondering if a 12inch would create enough tension? The max load would be about 10 pounds of equipment
My room is 127” wide is all so never tried it on a 132” or 21ft room but they also sell an extension pole. I have two supper lamps with extensions and two GVM 50RS led lights on my pole. Never weighed them all together but it has no issue with those two lights. The original Autopole 1 actually has specs for wall to wall weight limits if you google it.
@@keithbennett5179 Thanks. I'm concerned about horizontal tension. My rooms width is cutting a little close to 12 feet, and the extension poles might help with adding more tension? I am however going to reinforce the horizontal poles by adding bottom support to the end poles. It should minimize any issues if the auto pole eventually slips.
I just got the Autopole 2 and noticed that the top metal part that holds the foot just detaches easily from the main pole. Is yours the same? Is that normal?
I would reach out to Manfrotto I have not ever had that not not attached so not sure. But Congrats on getting one they are great. I love mine and want two more!
@@keithbennett5179 thanks a lot for sharing that. It was difficult to know if that was considered normal or not. And yes, if it’s fully intact then it’s a great piece of hardware.
Thanks for this excellent, helpful video. My space is 13' wide... would love to mount to the ceiling, not floor-to-ceiling. Do they make these just ever so slightly longer than 12'? Thanks!
@@keithbennett5179 Hi again Keith! Thanks so much for your reply a few months back. Would you happen to know if those smaller clamps (Smallrig, Camvate) fit these wider-diameter poles? Thanks man!!
I will say this one side of the pole is approx 40mm in diameter the other End is 50mm the best I could measure. So because the pole telescopes one end is larger. In my studio the larger end is about 60% of the length because it’s not expanded all the way. I love this solution and plan on getting one more for above my desk.

I just got one of these crappy poles and when I clamp something onto the pole the autopiler SPINS from the camera weight! It's only a canon R5!!! There is an insert at each end that DOES NOT LOCK which causes the pole to spin when there is weight clamped onto the pole!!! What a POORLY designed item!!! Typical manfrotto!!!
Great Video. ThANKS

Great video! Looking to add this to my Office/Filming room.
That’s awesome. I saw a video over a year ago that made me think it would work. I love the autopole 2
Does this still work? I’m concerned about safety. Has it fallen?
Works great and if you purchase the original Manfrotto Autopole it’s designed more for it. It’s never failed.

Should suspend the same why I suspended my lights if your ceiling is high enough
GVM 50RS I will add a link as soon as I get back to the studio thanks for punting that out. I have it on my GVM 50RS video. Thanks again!
GVM Light KIt 50RS I use on my Autopole:(Amazon Link) amzn.to/3pasOsg

Any advise, my Manfrotto Autopole is stuck in the fully extented position...;(
So… (bit more info) is the lever closed or open?
Can you please do a tutorial on how to use the two poles as background holders?
Thank you!!!
Once I get my second pole I will as of now I have not ordered it yet. Great video Idea!

These are designed to work floor to ceiling, not wall to wall. You risk your kit falling down and getting damaged, or damaging you, when they fail.
