alas poor Danny........... but what a wonderful footballer - one of our (UK) earliest superstars

wasn't he the first footballer to appear on TV advertisements? (Shredded Wheat)

Its sad they never mentioned his younger brother Jackie who was part of the Busby Babes team and won league 2 titles before nearly losing his life in the 1958 Munich air disaster and the injuries he incurred ended his playing career at just 24 years of age. The unbelievably callous treatment Man United treated Blanchflower jr to were he came out of hospital to find Man Utd had not only made him homeless but thrown his possessions out of the house he'd been living in. His treatment was very different to that of his elder brother Danny were Spurs treated him like you'd think a club would support a good playing servant of the club with respect.. RIP Danny + RIP Jackie.

Well said mate. Jackie was treated horribly by Man Utd. Absolute disgrace.

Not a mention of his little brother...tragically never played again after Munich. Disrespectful not to mention him..

When East Belfast was truly wonderful. H and W, Shorts, the Glens. It's now a wasteland. Stinking of two penny gangsters with no pride or shame.Danny is turning in his grave.
