- A US nuclear-powered submarine has docked at Perth’s naval base as an initiative of the AUKUS agreement.
The visit aims to strengthen the partnership with Australia and to give young Navy recruits what life is like on board.
The USS Annapolis docked at Perth’s HMAS Stirling naval base on Sunday.
“Our goal is to interact, to raise interoperability, to have a good transparent discussion about training and tactics and maintenance on our warship, and again increase presence, to help build the alliance and move this further,” USS Annapolis Commanding Officer Commander James Tuthill said.
From 2027, Perth’s naval base will hold a rotational presence of US and UK submarines.
These visits will allow the Royal Australian Navy to get a glimpse of what life is like on board as part of phase one of AUKUS.
Excellent. Good to have them here.
Why would we buy a boat from them?
They have duped us with old rust buckets in the past.
like when? the chinese sure would campaign against Aussies having these systems

That whole 70's nuclear ban is looking pretty stupid right now.
Labor playing to their Green faction.
Its is now known that a large number of CND type protest groups were funded both directly and indirectly by RUS.
@@Matt123a It was the amendment to the National Radiation and Nuclear Safety Act (1998) that banned development of nuclear reactor facilities besides the Lucas Heights facility. Who was in power in 1998, hang on let me think about it I know the answer is buried somewhere deep in my memory.
Along with Howard caving to the Greens in 1998
Driven by groups like CND who are known to have been funded indirectly by the soviets. Another group of mindless useful idiots.
Have fun boys!🎉
America just cut its future number of sub, no wait just Australian ones. Great timing.😂
Someone was jailed in America for taking a selfie inside a sub, so how is it that news reporters could take pictures inside without problem
its called "authorization". BTW, it's a federal crime to bring personal recording devices on board these subs, and everyone with a clearance knows that. There's only one reason to violate an agreement like that when you've signed it, and its not "I forgot".

Permission slip granted by the US Navy. When granted, photos can be taken in a controlled manner. Nuclear and machinery room are off-limits. These are top secret and can be accessed to the very, VERY FEW!!!
Why are submariners wearing camouflage?
What camouflage?
@@iDeagles The sailors were camouflaged so well that you didn't see them?
@@planetmikusha5898 sailors? Where?
@@iDeagles Nice trolling!

You Ozzies do know that there is no beer on a submarine, right?
I thought that was a still from Jaws
Good to have them here. Excellent sailors.
Looks like things are going ahead as planned. Beauty!!!
Hot air.
LA Class. What we should have got instead of the Collins Class.
The US had no intention in the late 70's early 80's of sharing that technology. It had only somewhat reluctantly shared it with the UK. And that is assuming we could have afforded it or had the manpower required, neither of which was the case.
Life on a real submarine 😉 “vice” their diesel boats 😁 and yes, I’ve been underway on this boat when it was in Devron Twelve
There goes the nuclear blackmail card the chinese are dealing up
