How smooth the paint spreads with your brushstrokes?! Im shure you talked about your medium yet (its not available in Europe 😢). Maybe you have further hints to deal with.

A quality medium alternative is Galkyd Painting Medium.
What material do you use to draw?
Normally a 2B to 6B pencil, a kneadable rubber & a smooth acid free paper.
How can you make a wonderful painting out of anything Colley? I would never have thought to use this as a subject. Very annoying!!!
I find anything with contrast-light to dark-is a great place to start.
