- Yeah... So Mihoyo messed something up with Barbara's elemental kit and its interaction with dendro. In this video, I showcase and explain what is going on with Barbara and her broken kit.

well they clearly have favorite character even when it's to correct bug. Like venti being able to absorb aloy bomb when he shouldn't be able since his ultimate only work on "ennemy" and not object,or xingqiu who can apply hydro with the water sword created by his E,yet when we look at the description of his E,it say the E only apply hydro to xingqiu himself,it never say it can apply hydro to ennemy,and yet they can. So they either forgot to put this information on his E,or he does have a bug since the very start and they never did bother fix it
maybe Hoyo gave her this temporary power to make people excited about Nilou??😂

her kit reads like it is very restrictive but could be OP when used right
Her 2nd and 3rd passive build onto each other and basically force her into a pure bloom team (dendro + hydro only) but even with external (enemy / environment) elemental involvement her 'special' blooms can't hyperbloom or burgeon which i find strange .. idk but i guess it would be too strong to have hyperblooms
Her 3rd ability wants her as close to 73k as possible to increase the damage (300% @73k HP) of her 'special blooms'.
Her C2 further pushes her into a pure bloom team.
The 5* weapon rolled out with her doesn't fit her style as much as the 4*
But adds extremely to her potential damage since it gives a lot of HP% and EM ((0.12% of max HP) ~876 @73k HP) stacking 3 times? which further increases her 'special bloom' damage sunstantially and once the 3rd stack is reached all nearby party members gain 0.2% of her max HP for 20s which is also extreme for coop...
And her C6 suddenly adds CritR / CritD depending on her max HP up to 50k hp .. blooms don't crit thou so it only really buffs her skill and burst.. but yeah idk those numbers don't look that amazing even considering her above 70k hp.
I mean her C2 is ultra strong but even thou i have used my wallet from time to time .. but getting her and her weapon.. idk.. and then i would feel like i have to get her weapon at least at r1 considering how much her damage is based on bloom = EM.
With extreme HP% rolls on Flower + Plume or some flat HP rolls it is possible to get her to nearly 72k hp with a r5 sword and 2pc MoT .. the question is if the ~3000hp from ToM out perform the 4pc GD 100EM .. but i guess it might.. maybe we get another HP% set with a better 4 pc than MoT which for her is pretty much useless :-/.. so 2pc MoT and 2pc EoS for ER.. ?

@@DiabloDBS She is still viable without cons. She is just very support hungry. She can be played with HP and EM gear but she wants Dendro and hydro supports that buff her scaling to get adequate damage so far that's Kokomi/Barbs, Traveler and Collei.
Collei wants Guilded, Traveler wants Deepwood, Kokomi/Barbs wants Tenacity/buff set, Instructors and Nilou wants HoD and tenacity. BiS is gonna be her weapon and any em/buffing weapon or er weapon for teammates or ironsting EM F2P like sting works for her as well.
She's kinda an expensive one trick pony but her reaction mechanic is interesting. Would be better if it wasn't locked into a dead end comp and reaction.
Her weapon is worth more than her cons but a good cons for her would be C2, like you mentioned.
I don't think she will sell very well, regardless of how good she will be, because of just how goofy her kit is. Like whenever Mihoyo does this, the units sales bomb, even if they're actually decent in the end, Nilou will end up like those I think.
Also, defo agree about the weapon, truly ugly, what were they thinking. The 4 star legit looks better on her, it's another Kazuha case I guess.

I'm pulling for Nilou and I don't have Kokomi. So, currently the only other Hydro/Dendro healer is Barbara, so I will have to use her with Nilou and 2 other Dendro.
If Nahida is not a healer somehow, I'll use Barbara for a long time with Nilou, she forced her way into my team because of the ridiculous Nilou comp restrictions

@Collei this aged horribly, Barbara actually works as well as Kokomi anyway on an ideal Nilou Bloom team.

For context: Barbara will apply hydro when her ring encounter new enemy. When the ring touches the seed, it applied hydro to the seed and it creates another seed. And the chain reaction begins. This will be patched.
(Update) Some pointed out that it could also be when Barbara's ring encounter seed, it 'applied hydro hit' to all in the ring. If the ring encounter 3 seeds with enemy inside the ring, it will applied hydro due to ICD which creates seed.

This glitch is my fav rn. It makes her so broken but MHY said they will patch it in the next update

It has nothing to do with ICDs. barbara's ring triggers a hydro application every time a new enemy enters the ring, and for some reason bloom seeds are treated as enemies so they also proc her E attack and results in very frequent hydro application.
Diona also is very important here because she provides fridge, which allows for barbara's crazy hydro application to not take over the dendro auras and ensures she is always the one triggering it.
I wouldn't say it has nothing to do with ICD considering this is still subject to ICD. The ICD is somewhat circumvented by the glitch which is able to apply hydro like crazy and thus overcome the "every 3 hit" part of the ICD.
Diona only freeze, it doesnt affect with barbara application. The regisvine vid is proof.
@@kevvinn.3787 The regisvine one works because there is only one target. If there are multiple targets, more dendro cores will be produced and barbruh's hydro application will massively increase as a result, in which case you will need diona's fridge.

Barbara e consistently apply it without help of cryo, because dendro is stronger than hydro, like hydro to pyro. You can even test in in game with collei, no theory. Lol
If you still insist in Diona contribution to icd, why only Barbara has this? Xingqiu has similar thing but his icd doesnt deviate like barbara.
I think there's a simple explanation and it has nothing to do with ICD. If you apply hydro on dendro aura you get 2 cores. If you apply dendro on hydro aura you get 1 core.
So if you optimize your application, you can get 12 cores out of 6 hydro applications, it's not news.
For 10 you have to do something more like 221212.
Genshin Impact CN Customer Support has just admitted that Barbara's phenomenon is a rare occurrence and it's not meant to work this way. It is more than certain that they will fix this.

Unfortunately listed as a known issue in the update summary. So likely to get patched. Have fun with it while it lasts. Then enjoy the primogems as a compensation for the bug whenever they patch it.

I was surprised when everyone didn't talk about Barbara when Sumeru launched. As a player who didn't have Kokomi was having blast with Barb.
I was using her in my kuki hyperbloom team since the start of 3.0 coz she generates bloom seed way faster, sad to know that it's a bug...

I can't afford more rolls for Kokomi because I need saving primogems for Nahida. And it's really high concern of no one would play healers, but just only Bennett. I've seen many times of peoples takes Bennett into the Shogun Puppet co-op and he mess us all by overload damage from the puppet keep all players been launched from overload to death.
I’ve had Barbara since day 1 of playing, she’s my favourite healer as she can heal everyone in the team when there off field and on field and revive a down character at c6, she definitely deserves more love and attention🥰
I started using Barbara like week ago for hyperbloom team with kuki. I am a new player so thought this was how it’s been 😅. That’s why I thought this crazy good.

Thanks for showing the clips. I noticed in my team with Barbara (54 pulls after losing 50/50 and no Kokomi for me) that she was creating a lot of dendro cores. It is already addressed in game notes and they said it will be fixed in 3.1

@@iamtearabyte4595 Her bountiful cores dont count as entites since they have no need to, therefore this doesnt work with nilou and barbara. This situation with barbara can only work with normal cores because her water ring counts them as entites which allows her to do this.

not really because the icd is normal with her, however yes, the cores will explode much faster. 0.4 seconds to be exact
nilou's bloom cores are not coded as hittable entities compared to regular dendro cores - since the latter can be attacked to trigger burgeon/hyperbloom whereas nilou's seeds trigger almost immediately

I build her before the whole thing blew up in the community when I noticed that something was happening with her and dendro and now it turns out that they are going to change it and I just throw resin in the trash can.

Barbara's ring applies wet to herself and enemies she comes in contact with every standard ICD, but notice how the water aura on herself or the character on-field is immediately consumed, either the dendro AoEs from DMC or collei consumes the hydro aura from the character on field or the dendro aura on enemies somehow consumes the hydro aura on the on-field character when in contact. Should be reproducable other ways, like with natural wet sources.

If Hoyoverse can argue that Raiden Beidou's interaction is intended, it should be fair for us to argue that Barbara bloom is intended mechanic.
I think you get continuous blooms when there are 3+ enemies due to the 3 hit rule. It's like the hit rule is erroneously reset every bloom so if there are 3 enemies then then each reset makes another bloom so there's a feedback loop.
They should never fix this because let’s be honest, doing this means Barbara is on the team. Let the girl have something going for her. 😅
Barbara has been in my party pretty much in most teams since launch, C6 L90. She has always been overlooked. In my current comp besides Dendro she is with Kazuha and Fishl and they hit hard.
Same, I've used her with 4 piece thundering fury and she has mostly cleared abyss for me since forever until I got better units, she's still used in my Sayu team for clearing abyss up to 11-3 to this day.
Moral of the story : Never underestimate any character

This only works on multiple enemies as the ring will apply hydro for each "entity" hence creating bloom. AND the dendro core itself is counted as entity, so she applies hydro again to enemies in her ring's proximity thus creating more dendro cores.
Yes. It is like 4 enemies create 4 blooms. then 4 blooms make 4 more blooms, and so on. The damage scales exponentially. Too bad MHY won't let my Barbara keeps it.
IWTL shows in the video it still works in single target. The Regisvine clip showed that she has increased application even with one enemy. That's because even a single core will count towards the 3-hit rule and speed up the time for her next Hydro application. It works as long as you touch the Blooms with her Loop. It's just that having three enemies caps the theoretical ATK SPD since for every 3 cores generated, another Hydro application happens, thus causing the infinite loop.

It's not an ICD issue. The Dendro cores are also getting wet by Barbara's Elemental Skill and are triggering them to spawn new Dendro cores. Since you are only allowed 5 at a time, the older cores explode, exposing new cores to get wet again and the cycle repeats itself over and over.
As long as Barbara has the E active, you don't even have to attack. Just stand in the middle of the cores.

Unfortunately, this Bloom Barbara team composition will directly affect Nilou's sales if they leave her alone, so they have to get her out of the way before their new cash cow arrives in the game.

If you're already having a good time with Barbara on that team, just imagine how drastically improved it would be with Nilou, who's specifically designed for it. But yeah, I do get your point. People might also just settle with Barbara if it works well enough for them.
There's something wrong if Barbara is broken. Mihoyo please don't patch this so we can actually have a rational incentive to play Barbara.

In one of those emerite outposts there was one of those rain causing stones next to one of the new rock lifting plants. If you activated those 2 youd get 2 or 3 blooms per second. That was broken and i think they removed it( or it just doesnt respawn)
one thing to note that Freeze is holding dendro aura so it doesnt go away from enemy even after reacting certain amount of bloom, dont know if this bug but yeah this probably one of the reason. but for barbara icd i dont know lmao
it seems like barbara icd only apply to cryo and not dendro. you can see that the freeze only happen few times but the bloom is reacting non stop

Barbara applies AoE hydro on standard ICD starting form the moment when her ring touches an enemy.
If another enemy touches the ring it also registers as a hit on her E.
The moment a third enemy touches her ring she applies hydro in AoE due to the 3 hit rule.
The 'bug' is that dendro cores also trigger the hit counter on her E. When you hit 3 enemies with dendro with her E you produce 3 blooms. These 3 blooms cause Barbara's E to apply AoE hydro, which couses another 3 blooms to form. It's a cycle that works as long as there is a dendro aura on enemies.
This will be patched. But if Hoyo is smart, they will just adjust how fast she can make the cores rather then get rid of this fun effect all together. like maybe hard cap how many her ring can make.

thought i just found out about this today but somehow YT marked this video as read on my account. thank you for using the vape reaction as example to show her e skill icd. I thought it had no icd because the character is constantly "wet" therefore it wasn't a bug but just an unintended effect of an intended function. So it is a bug indeed which is why they patched it.

From what I can see it only bugs out when Barbara applies hydro to herself or the character. It would be nice if they reduced or remove the self applied hydro to fix this interaction. It's always been a pain to fight cryo enemies with Barbara as your healer.
the thing about this is:
i think instead of barbara's skill applying hydro, it's the dendro burst of collei and traveler that's applying dendro to barbara's skill (the ring), maybe that's why there's a lot of bloom

@@soy5977 no. You can test it with the fungus that deal dendro aoe. Everything is normal there. Collei seem to be the problem.
2:17 The reason she has over 1K elemental mastery is probably because you're in the dendro artifact domain which greatly increases EM. I'm around 1000 EM on my Barbara while in that domain.
Barbara’s skill applies hydro on a normal ICD rule, but it also reapplies hydro every time a new entity enters the ring. Since the Dendro cores count as new entities, every time a new Dendro core is created, it applies hydro again, creating another Dendro core. This is how it works. However, with the way that Bloom works, in order to make this work properly, you need really high Dendro App, fridging, and multiple enemies so you don’t instantly run out of dendro aura.

For people wondering, this bug doesn’t seem to work with Nilou’s blooms (if you replace Diona with Nilou, you would get less Dendro uptime anyway because no fridging, but you would get Nilou blooms so it’s questionably worth it). This is likely because the Dendro cores need to be targetable for Burgeon and Hyperbloom, but Bountiful Cores are not used in these reactions, and thus are not counted as targetable entities.
its probably an error in coding for Nilou E skill... since barbara E aura and nilou E aura function the same. when they added into the code the ICD for Nilou E it inadvertently applied to barbara E also
Is the blooms damage based on elemental mastery of the dentro character, the hydro character or both?
they should not change it, and its her saving grace, and not too powerful. now if they made my yoimiya with no icds, that i would like to play with even for a day lol
imagine this on Nilou who has wider range of hydro aura and creates a special kind of dendro cores that can deal stronger and faster damage.
Nilou's blooms are not coded as entities since you are not supposed to use them for burgeon and hyperbloom. This bug is the way it is because the ring recognizes the normal seeds as entities.
There is a difference of the number of blooms depending on which element is the trigger. You can get a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 blooms in this team.

While this is a bug I honestly think that it really isn't worth patching, it gives Barbara a useful niche outside being a heal bot. If anything even more people can become Barbara appreciaters because of this.

before it was fixed it was actually kind of broken, it beat 12-3-1 in 40 seconds and 12-2-1 in 19 seconds with one five star including weapons on the team, basically, barbara's water ring applies hydro at a certain rate while every time it detects an "enemy" entering the ring it refreshes the icd, and the bug is that blooms are detected as enemies, but too bad the bug is fixed

It is probably not a bug but more a mechanism that wasn't clearly understand by the community. Regarding what you've shown, It would mean that Barbara's E has an ICD per target (and not a global one). In that case, each time a new flower enter the range of Barbara's E, it apply Hydro on it and therefore Bloom and Boom for damage.
Yeah no it's a bug. They already sent out an in-game notice about it. Look at the newest update summary and you'll see it being the first bullet point under known issues.
You have the right idea, her kit is working the way it's supposed to and nothing is broken. The code is fine so it's technically not a bug, just an oversight that Hoyo doesn't want to happen so they're patching it out.

That is NO such thing as global ICD and the explanation here is NOT quite correct. The ring doesn’t apply hydro directly to the seeds to create blooms. What happens is the ring hits the entity of 3 blooms in the ring(3hits) cancels out the ring ICD and applies hydro to each “enemies” again immediately.
Edit: if anything, this is actually the closest thing you can call Global ICD because the mechanic of the ability of one entity interrupts/changes the ICD of another entity has never happened/discovered in the game so far. Tho it’s likely just a bug.
If I understand correctly her skill says applies the wet status. Two enemies that come in contact. since dendri cores Are considered enemies I believe it’s apo lying Hydro again to the enemy that generated the core. Which then makes another core And repeats the process and as cores explode. It reapplies dendro Thus repeating the cycle
So, now that Nahida is out... I'm trying to use Nilou, Nahida and Barbara plus 1 team. I wanted Barbara on field to be able to trigger heals as well as damage...
It seems that this lack of ICD is overwhelming Nahida's dendro application... Thoughts on this?

As a Barbara fan, i was loving this and hoping others didn't snitch.
it's doing that because it's registering the bloom buds as an enemy, and in turn producing more buds just to rinse and repeat said process.
3:39 did barbara's charge attack include the Omen buff? I think the 5-second duration of the buff ended before the nuke.

it's not nerfing HER specifically.. mihoyo ain't stupid bro. This was never meant to happen in the first place, it only showing up now cuz of dendro and they overlooked barbara's wet applying status effect. If they were nerfing her it would break their TOS which is against china law, it's an unintended bug.
From a software developer standpoint, an "unexpected behavior" should be removed ASAP no matter how much it improves the software itself.
Why? Because an "unexpected behavior" has the potential to run away creating even more problems and end up ruining your software.
So yeah removing it in the next patch is the right thing to do. And if they want they can re-add it in the patch later down the line after some testing had been performed. (Which in my opinion is the ideal scenario)

Probably if they fixed the bug on the logic applied to the auto target that still prioritise standing still objects ( torches, barrels, crates, frigging flowers, and dendro cores) instead of moving hostile entities, we wouldn't have this " unespected behavior", so your point would be valid if applied to a competent company and hoYoYo is not. The bug is not in Barbara's kit, but in how the dendro cores are calculated by the game. As demonstrated in this video Barbara's ICD behaves normally without Dendro.

Could you add a jean to increase the hydro application? Since Barbara’s E affects you with hydro……. Jean could swirl that for more AoE hydro applications?
my main team uses the traveler and barbara (other 2 are keqing and xiangling) and i have noticed this. If i apply dendro first the hydro, barbara can create upto 3 blooms with her normal attack. If i use hydro first then dendro, traveller can only make 1 bloom.
What you're describing is just weak side vs. strong side elemental gauge theory.
Hydro trigger on dendro aura is weak side of reaction, and will consume less dendro, allowing for more bloom seeds to be generated.
Dendro trigger on hydro aura is strong side of reaction, and will wipe out the hydro.

@@superredrose6827 doesnt matter, they didnt advertise yanfei as a shielder but tankfei exists. Xiangling, xingqiu and xingqiu have poorly thought out kits yet they are 2 of the best 4 stars in the game. Its just how their kits work i feel like they shouldn't remove this bug but instead nerf it

I imagine Barbara is also a reason why Kokomi has negative crit rate. They basically learned from their mistake with Barbara’s per screenshot damage. If Kokomi could crit, her numbers would be insane and broken especially in a vape team
The fuck you mean damage per screenshot mistake? Vape Barbara is a terrible team you should never run outside of a showcase and a singe nuke showcase is nowhere near a dealbreaker for characters. You don’t see people saying Eula is the best character in the game despite having the highest damage per screenshot potential.
@@kale1287 First off no need to be rude. Secondly I never said vape Barbara is one of the best teams. Since hoyoverse started balancing their characters more they started looking back at the mistakes of their four stars. Hence why they are not releasing another, Xingqiu, Xiangling and Bennet etc. From my opinion Barbara was never designed to do this kind of damage, cause for some reason her charged attacks have one of the highest multipliers in the game though she’s a healer. Therefore they just removed any possibility for Kokomi to deal this kind of damage by removing her crit rate. Cause I’ve seen videos of Kokomi performing 1 million damage when she hits a crit with the right conditions. This is just my theory though so take it with a grain of salt.
@@123Selorm They could've also just let Kokomi crit but massively undertune her numbers to make it so that she's not doing more damage on average in practical situations. It's just character design choice to make her more unique. Screenshots of big nukes have very little effect on their kit designs.

This was already working when hovering over the berry more than once it would drop quickly. I'm not sure but because it's Dendro's reaction.
i gues from what i understand the reason this happening is because the blooms are considered eney or something so each time when a new bloom created it triggers barbara's skill, it creates more blooms, they trigger barbara's skill again, and it goes on.
There is something about this on in-game update summary section so i guess unfortunately mihoyo will remove the fun :(
I've been using her to have a healer with my DMC, Fishcl and Kazuha and it is not like this. So u need double dendro for this effect?
Could it be because Barbara applies dendro to both the enemy and the player? And so when the player’s hydro aura reacts with the traveler/collei’s dendro circle, it creates another bloom seed. You can see that the player keeps getting a short hydro application to themselves which is immediately removed
Ah I think I figured it out. The extra dendro cores are created from reaction of dendro with the active character, since barbara elemental skill apply wet to the active character periodically. when a dendro core explode it cause dendro damage and apply dendro to the active character and react with the wet status causing the creation of addittional dendro cores. the ICD is still the same, just on different subject.
tl;dr : self wet cause more dendro core created

I love my Barbara but I don't think they will keep it this way since they probably want to keep selling Kokomi and sell Nilou (there is a lot of people who just say this 4 star does that too so I don't need 5 star version)
I think its not an ICD, barbara always had that, her hydro application is stick with characters, and they dont do damage.
BUT--
Since DENDRO can basically PRODUCE a seeds just by touched by hydro, barbara skills can produce seeds just by get slip through ANY enemies with dendro on it.
meanwhile doing this, she can also applying it by her normal/charge attack, so she can produce many2 seeds as long the enemy had dendro on them.
Nilou also had skills that her produced seeds will be explode more faster than usual seeds.
Damn man, dendro really a game changing.
