I swear burning is more of a threat to your characters than to the enemies. I burned some grass with a kazuha pyro infused E and did about 5k dps to myself . Barely got out of that with 2k hp.
Imagine how devastating it was in 1.0, when players had 8k hp, and before devs nerfed burning...

Man, they pretty much killed burning when they nerfed it's elemental gauge, shame. I was actually quite excited to use burning for my melt Ganyu.

i agree, they should kept the gauge for cryo and hydro teams to finally use vaporize and melt properly and not just benefit pyro but the numbers should have been kept low. but they did both so now its useless
Burning actually isn't that bad. IWinToLose did a horrible showcase of it here.
If you pay attention, he always used Collei and travelers bursts together which is NOT what you do when burning relies on dendro application every 2 seconds. Which traveler can do.
(Meaning that burning had loads of downtime).
It's also funny that the other comps require multiple reactions, but for burning who's best candidate is Xiangling, IWinToLose instead used Bennet, making burning unable to do multiple reactions and extremely nerfing it.
Another thing id like to point out is that burning if used with Xiangling, enables multi reactions like quad melt/overloads and potential vapes. The issue is it requires Xiangling due to the fact that 1U pyro isn't enough on its own, however that 1U pyro helps Xiangling with pyro aura application.
Burning+Xiangling enable Chongyun to Quad melt with his burst. (Only Amber can do it efficiently).
Burning+Xiangling enable overloads to also proc. I used a team with yae Miko.
Burning+Xiangling can also proc melt and overloads at the same time in a team with yae Miko and Rosaria. However this team can't quad melt for Chongyun.
The best part is that burning can't be stripped off due to Xiangling constantly reapplying pyro, and the extra aura burning applies helps Xiangling do other procs.
Also note if you replace Rosaria with Kokomi, she will vape whilst the other reactions will still proc. (it's also a must to use electro or hydro in these comps (altho I highly recommend electro over hydro) so that you can infuse travelers burst to do consistent dendro application without it exploding.
At the end of the day , burning/bloom/hyperbloom/Burgeon still does the same amount of damage with same amount of EM. Unlike the others, burning do several little dmg over time and sigle target but the total amount is still the same.

Use burgeon and bloom for multiple enemies.
Use hyperbloom for single target scenarios.
Don't use burning.

@@illusion9423 aggravate is another story, because aggravate level same as melt / vaporizer team, you need build lot of crit value + atk%

@@flswttr The problem with aggravate are the characters. Fischl is nuts, but the one who can take advantage from her broken A4 in Aggravate is keqing who has a low damage. You have to choose if using healing (Kuki), shielding (Zhongli) or damage (kazuha/sucrose), and current dendro characters are too much bad at aggravate except for Thignari, but using Thignari you are wasting other comps.
Hyperbloom is insanely good without needing any crits..just stack ER on everyone and EM on kuki shinobu(and get her to level 90). Easiest team to build with very cheap investment. Don't even need talent levels. Perhaps xingqiu's skills and burst for more dmg and shinobu's skill for more healing, but that's still optional.
yep! Fridge is similar as well, but it is more utility dependent cause you gotta freeze your enemy

Sure, abyss buffs dendro but we also have overworld to test.
Comparing most teams to Hu Tao double Hydro or Childe International atm is unfair. Vape has the best teams in the game.

I don't know what developers have against Damage over time teams. In many games they allow this kind of gameplay but always makes it trash. Poison, venom, burging, corrosion and things like that could be paired with dashes and mobility checks to ensure the player is engage but in a different play style that just landing blows.
Would love to see how older reactions (such as Swirl, Electro-Charged and Overload) would preform compared to the newer ones
My guess is they are still better because you already have multiple characters to fully utilize every team comp reaction with fully flesh out rotation. Dendro is still new and the best dendro enabler is funnily enough the MC. Wait until we have a dendro Xingqiu to have good comparison berween all these reaction.

From my testing Electro-Charge does about 1/3 of the damage of Hyperbloom and Overload does about 1/2 the damage of Hyperbloom for same EM

Hyperbloom is the most fun and easy to use in my opinion.
Also yes, I would like to see how these reactions do when the characters are built better.
The thing is with a Kuki trigger hyperbloom team you could use literally anyone that won't interrupt the reaction in place of Collei. Traveler + Xingqui is enough for core production. Beidou for example. Her burst will never target the cores and she brings a ton of extra damage. Plus she would offer some AOE coverage that hyperbloom lacks. Fischl could also work since you do get some electro charge and aggravate uptime. She will occasionally hit the cores but it is pretty infrequent. You could also just drop Kuki entirely and use an anemo character for the hyperbloom trigger (A ton more team damage at the cost of mitigation).
Personally, I'm happy that burning isn't very good. Mostly because Pyro has been the focus of Genshin meta longer than nearly any other element and still remains very good because Vape and Melt exist, plus Pyro resonance. These reactions help boost underused characters like Kuki and Thoma without encouraging people to "Just use Bennet" like we've been hearing for the last 1.5 years.
I'm not very happy I'm glad that electro got buffed but burning could have been a good supportive elemental reaction :(
Its not a good thing at all. Its basically a dead reaction. Instead of it being to deal decent dmg and being an alternative to other pyro reactions its trash and vape/melt are still broken. Nothing changed basicallu

Well even if collei's kit is not good enough compared to traveler and tignari, she is one of the few dendro characters to show up and tignari is a main dps so is not like we actually have options, soon or later she will go to amber tier to make company with her friend

Im just soooooo disappointed for burning reaction. It literally does nothing dmg. I was so excited to do huge dmg with my main dps benny and he did worse than i ever imagined 😭😭

I think the biggest issue with burning is (imo) the only dendro character(s) who can consistently apply dendro for burning are tighnari and collei (together) YET

I guess between Hyperbloom Kuki and Burgeon Thoma, Kuki would be a generally safe choice just because she heals... as you might not survive with just Thoma's shield
I mean so far the best burgeon Thoma uses Kokomi so it's a trade of shield to heals (while Ayato does more damage but imo Kokomi brings comfort and that makes it safe)

@@uso6844 it depends, if you have another hydro then I think it could work since I use Kokomi for her heals AND her skill has no ICD and I have no idea about Barbara but you can do some testing and see how the team works for you

I'm just happy to see my favourite shinigami Thoma beeing finally useful in some team comps
I think both this and a full team comparison are perfect for comparing the reactions, this one looks at only the reactions, but team will be the practical application of it, which are two very interesting sides of research!
Is there gonna be an update from the klee's guide when a new cathalyst comes up? I'd like to see her viability with yelan and other new characters as a nuke or even support
there is no value in klee, she is an ok unit
I think double hydro can work with klee but hu tao does more damage and not sure if it beats mono pyro.
I don't think much else has changed for her though.
I think klee is more comfortable in a mono pyro team just bring kazuha or someone yk to swirl and group enemies sucrose works too but bennett as your buffer and healer and you still get a flexible spot you can put xiangling as an example I mean it's an advice cuz klee is hard to vape so mono pyro is comfortable and does a crazy amount of dmg but definitely not as big in number wise
Klee is best in mono pyro she applies to much pyro to vape or melt her charged attacks consistently
@@vani5632 Agreed, I can’t see how any kind of reaction team could be as good for klee as mono pyro. It’s quite good tbh if you love klee and wanna play her it’s def competitive and clears abyss fast
I was really hoping they would add a Phys debuff along with burning making it an alternative to superconduct. Who knows, maybe that'll be a feature of a future character or artifact set or something. (My poor Xinyan still waiting for her time to shine).

This is to be expected, Dendro is basically just here to make electro viable, pyro doesn’t need a buff vap and melt already hit hard.
I wonder how much "worth" to dendro reactions Nahida is going to add, since I'm still assuming Collei is Amber tier for Dendro and Traveler is Traveler tier for dendro, but because they're the only off-field dendro applicators in the game, we just don't know any better.

I disagree with that , yeah mihoyo gonna release better dendro characters than MC but not by much , traveller burst with hydro have literally the biggest AoE in the entire game , he have 75% uptime dendro application and he shares EM and at C6 he gives 12% damage bonus

Not really. Dendro reactions work well with Traveler’s level of application. The only thing that could be better is a character with a longer off field aoe Dendro application duration.
while traveler could be powercrept in future they still will be very much viable because of strong and consistend dendro application from burst, so dendro-traveler will remain better than any other element traveler we have so far.
These new reactions are fun to play, but i'm excited for characters that the main focus are said reactions. We can kinda assume that Nilou and Dehya will be Bloom and Burning/Burgeon focused characters, and Nahida will be their best support (hope she's a healer and buffer, Traveller and Collei support capabilities are just Dendro application).
For hyberbloom I used triple EM Raiden (I don't have kuki yet) with Kazuha, dendro traveler and Kokomi, I managed to 9 star abyss 12 with pure f2p setups it was a really fun team to use.
In the video I saw you used hydro infused dendro traveler burst, it's good but I was using the electro infusion for more burst dmg and faster dendro application but at the same time I had issues with enemies going off the burst AOE but if you manage to keep them in it the time would be faster than the hydro infusion
infusing electro on travelers burst doesn't increase dendro application.
I would love to see you use built characters and use Childe in the hiperbloom team as his riptide compensate for the lack of AOE of the Hiperbloom reaction. Keep up the good job.
I personally use Burgeon the most since I’m a Thoma main, and it’s fun to watch things go boom. 😂
I think burning will be usable when they give us a character with specific passive to make it work, like Nilou with bloom. Maybe Dehya.
I hope they don't ruin Dehya by making her tied to burning. It would that be a waste of her awesome character design. And it would also suck for burn to only be viable if you use one specific character.
@@Axterix13 as if we don't have enough pyro dps for vape and melt reaction. This patch is all about dendro and she might be the best contender for buffing burning reactions like what they did to Nilou.
Very insightful. I was playing around with burning thinking maybe people were not giving it a fair chance. Nope, it simply doesn't hold up as well as the other dendro reactions.
yeah do build the characters with 4 star weapons, it would be interesting. Also, love the fact that Thoma is somewhat competent now, functionality wise.
Pyro main : we are going to burn everything.
Hydro main : we'll forever be relevant.
Electro main : finally, we'll shine!
So far Raiden -bloom is my favorite, with a flex slot that is either Zhongli or Kazuha depending on what i am fighting ( remember the mantra " Kazuha will be irrelevant with dendro" ? Happy news: it was utter bs)

@@aciesara5444 some people said that dendro would be some kind of nerf for anemo characters because it doesn't swirl which even then was very questionable because well...everything else swirls.
Dendro really made sucrose even more broken lol. She was arguably of the top 5 units in the game and she got even better.
Kazuha i think didnt receive that much of a boost. He didnt get any weaker either.
Venti is venti. When he works hes the best unit in the game. Otherwise hes just a good unit

Kazuha adds nothing to hyperbloom teams tho unless he's C2, which would still be inferior to Sucrose.
I really like Hyper Kuki (Kuki Huperbloom) but still farming to get her a better piece

I really love playing Hyperbloom, it feels so flashy and quick. But I thought aggravate was more fitting for my Keqing due to Electro dmg. Therefore I would love any further comparisons you are doing!

They're totally different things. Vape is a simple 2x multiplier. Aggrevate however, will increase the dmg, but electo is still subject to its "death by a thousand cuts". Electro, chars (except Raiden) cannot output that much dmg in 1 instance, however overtime, they defo can do loads. Vape exact opposite, Big dmg once, then a while b4 they do it again
Burgeon is so fun if throwing a electro unit. running Raiden, MC, kokomi, and Thoma. So fun!
fun fact, if your running xingqiu as the sole hydro in hyperbloom, you can use kuuki's burst to apply electro to dendro traveller's burst before it can infuse hydro
Imo I would love to see her burgeon and hyperbloom perform with the hydro character build as dps. Cuz hydro characters are specialized in their vaporize too. With proper build hydro, burgeon will also be as good as hyperbloom

Something worth considering is Kuki's team is benefitting immensely from Quicken & Aggravate. It's pretty much unavoidable.
I also think it would be worth testing what these teams are like of you didn't avoid having good atk/crit stats too. Fridge doesn't have to be bloom focused, it could be more of a cryo-dendro hybrid-dps team.
I use Kuki hyper bloom and aggravate and spread are negligible. What is actually significant is electro charged. My hyper bloom can do 28k x 2 every pulse on average. My electro charge can do some ~10k x however many enemies there are / sec.
2 enemies you will dish out 40k damage but 3 enemies will dish out 60k from one electro charge reaction. However hyper bloom can target different characters so if 1 of the blooms targets a different enemy it will also proc so it can be 84k damage from one proc of hyper bloom. If all 3 target the same enemy then it will only be 56k. I think that is not bad for Kuki.
I do not have Dendro set quite built yet so I just use the Noblesse set to pump up everyone on my team instead.
Maybe if my Kuki had very cracked stats then aggravate might do something more significant. Mostly she just has 4pc Gilded Dreams that add up to about 1000 EM.

Not sure ifanyone pointed that to you but burning should function for a overload composition. I use: c6 benny, dentro traveler,albedo and kuki/shogun. Even liza should perform nicely for the electro slot.

🤔 I can't believe MiHoYo (Hoyoverse) actually planned those Dendro reactions since 1.0, but evidence is clear: if they didn't nerf Burning to the ground back then, because players died from burning grass, then this reaction could be as good as other 3!

@@KrisPBacon69 before the dmg didn't even scale with world level so you were getting hit by 70-100hp hits at lvl 80 (basically nothing) the dmg was increased just a bit too much.
guys dont forget, hyperbloom and burgeon are prob a lot better than fridge if you are building damage on your other untis not trigger reactions such as xingqiu. For the kokomi fridge team, you cant increase the damage much as non of the characters have good dps. It has a lower ceiling and higher damage in lower investment compared to the others
You can improve fridge by using ganyu/rosaria instead of diona and it also has slot for 2 new better dendro characters in future

I have a feeling burning will continue to be bad(mostly inconsistent) until we get a character with constant on demand dendro application. Maybe a catalyst or dendro infusion.
Using burgeon with Hutao is like giving her AOE Damages, and as it's Hutao it's kinda controllable when burgeon happens thus you can just use DMC with it.
I donno about mixing hutao and burgeon together tho... She will very easily die and will need a shield. But then you just used up 2 slots and burgeon would be pointless. (Plus the element of the shielder will interfere with the reactions: geo frpm zhongli and cryo from diona). Better go for vape. Unless you want something fun and different then go for it i guess :)
@@karimhegazy3866 again, it's just to give her some AOE reach. With Zhongli it's where I find the team usable, and on AOE his pillar rarely hit everyone after all. Sure it isn't good for ST, I found Zhongli, Hutao, Yelan and Xinqiu better for that.
@@MuhammadKharismawanHu Tao applies pyro too quickly to make much use of burgeon, but Yanfei is much better, as yanfei can swap in and out without losing pyro infusion (she always has pyro), and she brings her own shield to cancel out burgeon dmg.
fridge with kaz instaed of collei is way better ( obviously) traveller is more than enough for dendro application
As you can group all the bombs and enemies together in one spot, plus obvs damage bonus for hidro
Main rule was "only 4★ characters with one exception", so only Sucrose can go
Tbh i think bloom is the best bc i dont see why u would use burgen and burning in the first place if u have vape and burgeon is also really hard to use i think hyperbloom is much easer to use but i think u could just play aggravate

If we ever get a hard hitting, slow hydo applicator, then burning will shine because it will allow forward vapes.
Have you tried using 4pc lavawalker to increase the damage of burning alongside it being a full EM build? Im sure it would do better than what was resulted. Another thing, I think Albedo's burst wouldve helped also
I don't think there's room for Albedo in the team. You need 2 dendros to keep the fire going and a pyro. That leaves room for one character, and that pretty much means an anemo for VV, because -40% pyro resistance (and grouping, swirl, and EM/DMG buffs).

Wait does DMG% increase reaction damage? I thought only level, EM, specific artifact set effects, and element resistance affects it
it would be cool if the burning dmg was based on enemy's max hp..like every tick do 1% of enemy's max health.
burning is basically just a "kill your own character" reaction and do nothing to the enemy

I'd definitely like to see this repeated with some other underlying reactions for hyperbloom and burgeon. Things like hyperfridge and salad, and quick burgeon and freeze burgeon.
The showcase is good, but having Dendro traveller replace Bennett on burgeon would be better.
Hyperbloom has a 100 more EM Due to Dendro passive, and Having Dendro traveller creates more cores your Thoma can react to.
You have too much pyro application that's why burning occured even with a single target... Thoma's application is just enough.
For me, I use Kokomi as my main driver for her 100% E up time, plus hydro autos. Thoma is my pyro applicator, and I use Collei and Dendro traveller for off field Dendro application.
But thank you for the showcase :>, even with that set up Burgeon still performed good.
Also, Single target : Hyperbloom; Multi-Target : Burgeon. And both reactions can reach the flying hydro birds with no problem.
because there is no continous dendro damage on burning team, because it explodes immediately whenever there is fire. aside from the bloom damage there is continous dendro damage all the time.
kokomi has so many builds, elemental mastery, tenacity, clam. I can't keep with kokomi buiilds
I like using Hyperbloom, exactly i loves seeing skill like homing missile, ningguang, dori E also Tighnari Q and charge attack

You should try using electrocharge masking for burgeon. Team is DMC-XQ-Fischl-Thoma. EC works conceptually similar to fridging for the purpose of seed production (exact mechanics are different, but the goal is the same - more seeds per dendro application). I think it also prevents burning for the most part.
Though you may get a few stray hyperblooms and overloads in the process.

I LOVE hyperbloom and learning that its effect is competitive with other dendro reactions is cherry on top.
i just love it for ease of use, too many eremites have simply walked away from my dendro cores and that really killed bloom for me.
and without UBER strong hydro application (only xingqu on my acc) mass producing them to force explosion wasn't really an option
Zajeff77 butgeon includes an electro character which also activates overload with thoma thus making the reactions deal more damage, so yeah the problem with the burgeon team on the video is the existing dendro characters are bad at applying dendro, minus tighnari because he is an spread character
Also why put bennet on the team if you want a functioning burgeon we could use xq and dmc.
Burgeon is average at best as of now, if you dont have ayato or yelan but if you have electro it can trigger overcharge as well making it a hyper reactive team. Note that thoma only needs em and not atk, dmc nor collei doesnt have good dps where as hyperbloom has multi units that deals alot of dmg, bugeon high dps came from thoma and the hydro unit. If we get anothwr dendro character it will buff the qol and damage of burgeon as well.
Also collei is a bad dendro character she applies 3 dendro on ult and 2 from her skill. With her being the bloom reactor ,burgeon would suck because of her low application.
Would love to see the teams fully built and with spread and aggravate as well. Awesome work Iwintolose!
I had a lot of trouble making up team comps for spiral abyss because I was just lacking in good, well built characters, but now Dendro exists my waifu Kuki has powered up tremendously for very little investment. Just full EM artifacts with an iron sting and she's good to go.
Now I got a new Quicken/Hyperbloom team with Tighnari, Kuki and Mona (with Dendro traveler for Dendro resonance) that is more than sufficient to keep me alive thanks to Kuki's heals, and the fact that Kuki's healing also scales off EM means I can sacrifice HP to pump my EM without losing much of my healing.
So essentially Kuki's new role in Dendro comps means I can free up my standard supports for other teams, and this was my first 36 star abyss
I've been trying out a Yanfei Burgeon team. Haven't tried it in the Abyss yet but it feels pretty good in the over world. Yanfei, Dendro MC, Collei, Kokomi.
might build yanfei instead of Thoma cause I have skyward atlas how do u recommend to build her as a sub dps cause ill use mona instead of kokomi
Why would anyone be bothered that burning can't do any damage? Pyro has been the strongest element with stupidly huge reaction (melt and vapor). Let the other elements shine too 😭

I know you talked about how spread and aggravate are the best dendro reactions, but I'd be super interested in seeing a video of electro DPSes with and without spread/aggravate to see how they stack up against the traditional teams for these electro DPSes. I hope you don't *spread* yourself too thin, though - take care of yourself sir :))
I would really love to see how burning stacks up now that Nahida is in the game, that consistent dendro application would be a lot better in this scenario

Every theorycrafter knew how trash burning was. Heck even before dendro came, we all knew burning was bad.
Im using Mona's hyperbloom, with Mona, MC, XQ and Kuki. My better 12-1-1 time are around 13s ^^
I have the same comp but with EM Raiden. I need to get full stars on the 12-1 floor. I'll try a Hyperbloom team on that floor.
I'd like to share some more thoughts on Burn:
Collei by herself CAN fuel Burn consistently (especially with Sacrificial, but with c2 she doesn't even necessarily need that if you can stick near enemies) by spacing her Q and E apart, and is the best option multi-target due to her Q's AoE. Tighnari is better for single target (though that's a bit cheating with his personal damage), but struggles keeping dendro on more than one enemy.
In addition, her Q's ICD is even "forced" by Mihoyo to let Burn drop and then retrigger immediately (losing at most 1 tick in the process), which allows stuff like Gilded Dreams to re-activate (which it does not when refreshing Burn - that's not a reaction!), and resets the Burn Gauge to 2U (preventing swirls from deleting it when they happen too fast, which is especially important with Venti's high swirl count in Q)
On top of this, double dendro in Burn is a mistake. DMC does very little to help short of maybe triggering Sapwood, who's leaf is terrible to pick up, and his Q is a liability more often than it helps. Dendro Resonance also only lets Burn get 80 EM, not the full 100, and at the amount of EM you typically have, that's a very small effective bonus to the team. Instead, full EM Xiangling (if we keep it to 4* units) or instructor Zhongli (if we allow 5*) are much more beneficial, with the former having pyro shred and EM ascension stat, and the latter having universal shred and an ever helpful shield. Pyro shred is vital, as VV sucrose already shows.
It's still the worst Dendro reaction, don't get me wrong, but there's some nuance to it, and a burn-dedicated pyro character can absolutely solve quite a few of its shortcomings.

I want to know if Xinyan can be a good burgeon team activator. She has shielding and her shield pulses pyro on surroundings like kuki shinobu.
If she hits more than 1 enemy sadly+if she does her cool down is long
IMO, Thoma has thicker shield and has good Pyro application, when with Xinyan you need to hit at least 2 enemies every time, application has much lower area than Kuki (area like Barbara's healing circle, is there any bloom related teams with Barbara?) and gives only 6 pulses over shield duration. So it kinda works, but not as good as you can expect, as it is much harder to control (C2 Xinyan needed though)
Xinyan has high uptime which is bad and have a high application which is bad
C4 yanfei would be a good shield/burgeon activator to
@@VictorIbelles c4 Yanfei can be burgeon activator only on field, as her shield does NOT apply pyro. You can use Klee with same efficiency

In fridge team because of Diona shield Geo Vishal HP gone very low but this did not happen for burning team.
Same happened with Burgen with Tohma shield.
So it's not fair? IDK.
