I loved this album so much. The songs are so ethereal and inhuman. They’re so filled with magical imagery and bits of witchcraft. The only other singer I know of that made music like that was Kate Bush. Even current Florence has lifted the veil, so to speak, on her music and it’s not really occult/mystical like this.
EDIT: It's 2022 and she released Dance Fever a few weeks ago. That album was sort of a return to the style Lungs had. Daffodil could've been on Lungs honestly. So glad she decided to return to her roots, so to speak!
Thanks for making the edit. I loved/ love Lungs so much and it's partially for the reasons that you mentioned in your description of the music contained on that album. But I actually sensed a move away from the witchy/ spiritual/ magic vibe on ceremonials but I still do love a lot of that one as well. But after that, I got involved in other things and would kinda peek in on what FATM were up to once in awhile and it wasn't grabbing me but after reading your comment I'm going to go check out the album you mentioned. I've already forgotten the title and stupid RUclips comments function doesn't allow one to scroll up to reread what the fuck you were replying to (at least on android it doesn't). Thanks again. I think I have watched this a thousand times. I seen her live twice both time in Dallas TX. This one is my all time favorites as it is very magical and moving. Love Florence Forever.

Just... How? I mean, I know, but it's just that her ability to sing is so incredible and seems to come with such ease. And she's adorable, too! This is just one of those cases in which you have to be so happy one is able to share their gift with everyone.

I think everyone has a person, regardless of whether that person is still in your life or has moved on, that fits the lyrics of this song. This person was so significant that they shaped who you are and who you will be after they are gone. This song, in particular, speaks to this feeling a lot and I always cry when I hear it.
My bad luck was meeting this person very early in my life and then living with the idea that I will never find anyone else who matches her

Florence Welch is who I expect to hear entering Heaven. My God, I can't say it enough how incredible she is. She should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for her pure perfection vocals. Very rare to not need tone/pitch fixing. She is better than Adele, NO disrespect or dismissal of HER amazing voice; I just think from all the singer's I have seen acoustic, Florence is by FAR the most amazingly perfect singer I have ever heard.

@@ffsdffsd1 Agreed: I'd love to hear a full album from them in this format. A lot of their album stuff sounds overproduced and has too much back up vocals used.
@@jwest88 It's because florence is very inconsistent with the quality of live performances. To the point that on a good day she can make a fantastic performance and you can tell she has total control over her voice, whilst on bad days, she sounds like shit; cannot reach notes but attempts to reach them anyways, her voice can't finish a vibrato correctly due to maybe voice stress or lack of warm-ups, changing the rythm halfway through the song and then forgetting the new rythm she set, note transitions sucking and her voice sounding pitchy (as if she needs to scream in order to reach a note). She's not stupid, the only thing she needs to do is watch her own performances back and hear the mistakes for her to decide that recording a live album might be a huge risk she doesn't want to take.
Rollingskattes Wabajack that may have been true 5 years ago, or 9/10 in the Lungs era. Back then she abused substances, to try and escape her anxieties. Now she is consistently incredible. She is sober, she is devoted to her craft. I’m so proud of her!

God, but what a powerful voice she has. Her lyrics are complex and powerful in their own own right, but add that voice and her music becomes a spiritual experience.
