2024 anyone?
Meeee ! 😊
From UA here❤
Yep this song blew me away 14 years ago and still does, Florence looks really pretty here too.
Xoxo
From Mexico
Approaching 15 years. Time keeps moving on and I keep coming back.
This has to be the absolute best version of this song. Everything is perfect.
I agree!
Everything indeed!
That guy on harp is AMAZING! She always adds the right instruments to compliment her voice! Just Beautiful!
Very nice 👍
both guys in perfectly harmony
This is my happy place during the corona days.
Me too
me too 2
Me too
this is mine everyday 💖
Dicle Kaya peach, her voice just makes everything OK
Everyone is praising Florence's surreal vocals but CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT GUY WHO PLAYS THE HARP?
Lhourd Fernando i have seen alot of people talking about the harp player 1 year ago but what i did never see was talking about the guitar guy :D
Lhourd Fernando He's a true definition of talent. This song with the Harp is beautifully done. I cannot think of another band that uses a harp like this for their music. Of course we cannot doubt that Florence has a good voice, she's incredible. As a musician, the instrumentation definitely doesn't go unnoticed! I love it!
Lhourd Fernando what can you say about Tom....
A great human being and a great artist.
Yup
***** to be honest idk much about harp playing so im easy to please
She's one of the most powerful singers I've ever heard in my life.
She was a choir girl at school.
absolutely
I would love to hear a duet with her and Kimbra. I think that would be mind blowing
Yes
I heard her live at the bridge school concert a few years ago, an all acoustic event.
Words can’t even do it justice, much like in this.
I just realized this video is 10 years old and the sound quality is still better than most of today's live videos, props to the KEXP team
I'll be damned, it *is* 10 years old.
Bam! So true
absolutely, KEXP did a wonderful job on this set. radio stations typically have very good studios and their sound techs are amazing. see also BBC radio 1 sets, they are top notch
To be honest analog tech is not much better 10+ years ago than it is now..
KEXP always sounds like that
I've referenced this video in so many conversations with fellow artists about the use of Acoustic White Space. It is so truly haunting when everything falls silent. It accentuates the notes and lyrics so profoundly. It is an encyclopedia entry on dynamic range, and the importance of notes NOT played, and what it is added by their absence.
WTF> BS artist, right here. No. 1 for you! FO
Wow Im a singer I need to learn a lot more about this stuff 👍☺️
Yours Awesome!
Love the Fact and TRUTH FOUND INSIDE EMPTY SPACE. MAKE your own Awesome
Michael this is not my phone and my name is mandy. I just wanted to say i
Her voice is beyond this world
+Drunkenstein from Daughter? Yes.:) also an exceptional singer
+Sarah Rose Music no, it's good but nothing amazing.
+Sarah Rose Music not really
+Sarah Rose Music
Absolutely. But what's interesting is that singers are taught not to breath into the chest, as in the chest should remain motionless. Clearly you can see Florence ignoring this convention, whilst she inhales her chest rises noticeably. Maybe that's why she sounds so distinctive.
+Daniel Storey She has no classical training which is probably why. You know the motto 'just do it'
Years go by and I watch it over and over again. And I love it more and more.
Same here!
yup
Same! 🖤
She’s a Shakespearean level Muse
Florence and Bastille mashup would be great to see.
I lost my mother to cancer. Today, December 1, it has been three years since the doctor told my father and me that she would not survive. She died on Christmas. This song is very important, it reminds me of my mother and in a way it comforts me.
Sorry for your lost. I lost my mother to cancer aged 5. I'm 37 now. Live on live strong
So Sorry for you!
I lost my mother in October on cancer. She was 61.
Lovely greetings from Germany
All my love to you and your family 🖤
I'm so sorry. I'm in a similar position right now.. my mom is my everything and it's been a fucking dark year. But, she's lasted far longer than they anticipated. They gave her a few weeks...in may 2020. I'm counting my blessings every day we have her.
sorry for your loss, you're very lucky to of had a wonderful mom, some of us don't have mothers
She gives me chills all around. Her voice is so ethereal, so magic. Strong, yet so delicate.
Her unapologetic softness is what makes her so strong. :)
Wow someone else has described her voice as ethereal! She is and always will be the goddess of music 💙
She was my lifeboat for the hardest part of the 12 years that I was in foster care . I'm pretty sure I'd be dead of it wasn't for her.
Think that is one of the most wonderful things I've ever read on here - what an amazing person you must be. She saved my soul at a very different time of my life. x
Savannah Greer Well Savannah, I wish you the very best in your life. Many of us did not come from privileged backgrounds and it does get better with time. Have confidence in yourself because you made it this far. There is much beauty in the world and surround yourself with positivity whenever and wherever you can.
Savannah Greer hey, just wanted to tell you, I am so proud of how far you have come, how you’ve fought for so long and survived.
You are important. I'm glad this song helped you. Beautiful song .You are worth so much more.
I’m glad you’re still here :(
I have a HUGE appreciation for singers that can sing live. She's unreal.

Are you even a singer if you can't sing live
@@harleenkaur9084 i was questioning the same thing here lfmao like "he means everyone then?"
I’ve probably watched this 1000 times. It brings me to tears every time. Such a voice.
Exactly the same for me. Every single time.
damn
On my hit it lists so good.
Yeah. I cried too
I balled my eyes out every time
This song helped me get through the very worst of chemo.
I’m wishing you health and peace .
I'm not remotely religious but i think we just got served a little slice of heaven right there. What an incredible voice.
How so?
@@HolyMyBackHurts the literal definition of heaven is the cosmic celestial universe. Yes religious cults have seated their many man made- up gods there. A slice of heaven is simply put, "out of this world!". It is not a religious saying except to the ignorant or religious fanatics.
That harp solo is heaven.
if it is heaven, then what is Tjasha Gafner playing in one of my videos?
One day....there will be a Broadway show directly from God ....this song will be born again to THAT .
I come to this time and again. The best live recording of any track I’ve ever heard.
Wait, hasley is awsome too
This song makes me feel alive
13 years since this video was recorded and since I discover Florence. She is perfect in so many levels. Her voice echoes to our hearts.
:')
And a falling star fell from your heart
And landed in my eyes
I screamed aloud, as it tore through them
And now it's left me blind
The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart
And in the dark, I can hear your heartbeat
I tried to find the sound
But then it stopped, and I was in the darkness
So darkness I became
The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
And no dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart
I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map
And knew that somehow I could find my way back
Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too
So I stayed in the darkness with you
The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
And no dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart
The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
And no dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart
Of your heart
Of your heart
Of your heart
Of your heart
Yes, you can say this is about broken love (not very clear how but for the anguish), but it makes more sense to see it as a fetus devastated by its mother's depression.
I've never commented on RUclips, let alone the whole interwebs, before. But your reaction to the songlyrics made me do it now..
The last trimester and for months after my pregnancy I listened to this song. This exact version. My daughter, by the time she was 2 months, regonized it. Altough it's indeed a song as i felt discribed what i was going through as a new mom, i hold it dear to my heart.
Recently i miscarried. The phrase 'But then it stopped and i was in the darkness, so darkness i became' has a New meaning for me.
I am doing good, so is my daughter. I Just wanted to share this for all the women, and men, Who felt this way in a time you'de be expected to be more cheerfull. And it gets better. This song, this woman and her beautiful voice made me connect to the most precious thing in my life, in a time i almost lost myself.
@@JK-uw8yl I have tears in my eyes. Thanks for sharing ❤️ 👼
@@ariaangel7733 thank you for taking the time to read it ❤ hope this song helps you for whatever reason you need it for. Greetings from the Netherlands
Bless your heart. Easy to lose a big part of yourself when experiencing such a devastating loss.
I too suffered through a still born son over 31 years ago. It still bothers me to this day.
Music is the main thing that pulled me through my depression. Artist and songs like this are such a gift and touch so may people on a positive way. Stay strong and this pain you feel will ease over time.
This video is 11yrs old is undoubtedly the best version of this son. I keep going back to it again and again, year after year.
This is incredible. The album version is boring and not at all the same. Listen to them back to back, you'll see. There is only one true copy of this song. This is it!
yes true, this version is best.....cant be matched.....original is good too....i also keep coming back at it.....its so beautiful...
Hi Matthew, have you listened to her performance at Royal Albert Hall? That performance is my favorite. Her personality and charm shine. It's here on RUclips. Enjoy!
SNAP CRACKLE AND POP. Banging tune
The David Letterman one is really good as well.
My favourite vocalists:
1. Florence Welch
2. The lead singer from Florence + the Machine
3. The one who sang on Sweet Nothing.
h
Lol
what about hayley williams?
ninjas sword Yeeesss, Hayley Williams is my favorite 😩❤
How about Hannah Reid ?
This live makes me feel like i was born in the right time.
there is a FATM - meme :""If you ever feel sad, just remember that the universe is 14 billion years old, and you still somehow managed to be alive at the same time as Florence Welch.""
Hahahah you make me smile or cry idk
If you knew anything about history, you would know this is probably one of the worst times to be alive. Even if we're just talking music, the 60's and 70's were 100x better. This is good, but only when comparing to the rest of modern music which is horrible.
@@booishoois309 yeah. It's 2020 you can buy stuff and have them arrive at home without leaving the house. You have a mini computer in your pocket that can connect to anyone anywhere on earth. You have the internet so you can listen to any musician anywhere, discover new sounds yet here you are complaining.
My recommendation to you people is to look at sounds coming from countries where genres you like are just picking up steam. The best songs I've heard recently aren't even english. I too could complaint like you about how music from the past was way better but that isn't true. The audience has changed and so has times. There's a million artists out there waiting to be discovered you're insulting their work when you just look at the billboards and assume people making music aren't good enough.
Discover artists support their work. You shouldn't care that an artist you don't like who makes songs that isn't your taste is getting millions of views/streams when you can find people who make good music that you like and get only about a thousand listeners
13 years ago and I am still vibing to this!
an existential beauty stacked inside truth. She helped me cry at a time when I was dead inside. I hope she finds comfort and contentment for all the good she's done. 🙏
I’m sick of life but I never grow sick of this.
🤗🤗🤗
If you are sick of life...then make some serious changes
@@cbennett196631 As a mental health advocate, that is a grossly disturbing thing to tell someone that is hurting. Tim, I hope through music and self-care you find your peace, your worth, and know that your feelings are valid because they are YOURS. Love and light xoxo

I only let myself listen to this once a year so it never loses it's magic. Today was the day. I just adore this masterpiece. Goosebumps

12 years later and she's still mending the wounds in my heart with new and masterful songs.
She needs Grammys if she doesn't have some already.
The fact that she doesnt have a single grammy is really sad
radagascar1 Grammys are meaningless.
David Wright They are a popular contest now
Nevkolln B Contests are for losers.
The reason why Flo is such a good artist is not her voice. It's what her voice tells. She has something that goes beyond the pure talent: she has something important to share, a word of peace for the human kind.
Florence heals my soul every day...
Alessio Vidal Sia has that talent as well
Not often you see someone shredding on the Harp, but this is special.
This is maybe her best song, so powerful and emotional. I remember first hearing it in 2010 and it blew me away totally and still does, her voice is insane.
her voice is so amazing that I fell in love with all of her songs(btw I have just discovered her a few days ago, how amazing is she)
you're so lucky
со мной тоже случилось когда то ровно тоже самое. до сих пор под впечатлением арфы, гитары и вокала.
This is the greatest song of all time.
I love that she can flick her voice. No snap, no pause, pure vocal acrobatics.
I’ve been playing this song for my daughter since she was 3. She’s 6 now and still says it’s one of her favorite songs. Mine too and I listen to rap😂😂😂
After 13 years still the best Performance of all times
I am now 60, a musician and a singer in choirs from time to time, and this version that Florence performs is my inspiration for what it means to be a creative, engaged and creative singer.
So true!
No matter what I do, how old I am, I will always come back to this master piece.
Absolutely the best version of this wonderful song. She is a genius- and knows how to pick an harpist...
A thousand people liked it so much that they turned their screens upside down to give thumbs up twice.
c'est vrai ❓❗❗✅🦉
I love you so much.
big hug for that comment. Sooo needed by folks.
12 years later this it still one of my favorite songs ever made
MAN that is still, an wil be for ever ONE of the best performances EVER!
this live version far better than the studio version, her voice is simply amazing
I love the studio bc of the drum bests. They give me chills but I love this version!
That harp cured my headache

But not my stomachache ..

I am a black guy from the hood and I consider her the best singer I ever heard lmao
The hood may shape you but it ultimately doesn't define you. It is only a CONSTRUCT (remember the Matrix? a training ground), an environment. The reality is that BEFORE YOU WERE BORN you already know the surroundings of your 'landing'. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD SOMEONE CHOOSE TO BE BORN IN THE HOODS you'd ask?
Your higher self has a wider view of the work your lower self needs to do. Either to show others (usually family members or friends) that there are other 'constructs' to be explored or simply to experience a different way of life...
Ok and...
Wow you’re so racist to black people from the hood. Lol
Nigga fuck rap, listen to any genres & don't pay attention to what your surroundings think about your music tastes which aren't "black" ;)
I'm now a 47 year old white guy from a market town in England who still proudly wears a Public Enemy T-Shirt!
If angels exist, this is their sound.
her voice is so refined and pitch perfect that even her live songs sounds like an album version.
My absolute favorite recording/performance of Cosmic Love. Hauntingly beautiful, stripped down acoustic with mesmerizing harp…..this performance destroys me every.single.time!!
2022 and still one of the best live performances by voice, lyrics, sound, harp and all :)
She has a beauty from the 12th century, when beauty and justice used to reigned. Her voice sounds like an ancient Carolingian spring breeze in a flower garden, im feeling like a poet today.
i don't comment much or ever, but this song right here is timeless and beautiful. It deserves it's title, Cosmic Love. This is a masterpiece.
This will never get old
Devine ,they had no idea it would become this, bless them all XXX
After all this time , still one of the greatest live performances I have ever see .
I can't believe her voice. She is flawless. Perfect.
Her voice is so perfect; it makes me extremely happy that I want to cry.
me too....I cry everyrtime with this version
She is perfect!

The first time I ever heard this song, I tripped on LSD for the first time and it was also the first time in my life that I ever experienced actually feeling music...I had goosebumps, started to cry, my heart felt like it shattered into a million pieces, in the best way. The harp, her vocals, pierced through my body like fucking lightening and electrified my soul. Ever since that time I’ve been able to feel music through my body completely sober. That experience made me so incredibly open to different genres. My love for music intensified so much and I can’t thank them enough for that. Edit: not promoting the use of LSD, just here to share my experience with this song...music is awesome sober too✌️
dont forget to thank hoffman =)
Wasn't music enough? Doesn't music itself provide with you with all the beauty you seek?
@@gab.man.5228 if anything provides u all the beauty you seek, may be you're aimin low.. but i get what u mean. It's the sensibility of the listener the crucial point of the musical (or any other emotional) effect. And some drugs, not to party, not to break iorself, but taken conciously, can improve that sensibility. That doesn mean music is not cool enough, or loved enough. Just diferent ways of experiencing life, not better.
It's called synaththstasia
@@gab.man.5228 I personally experience this without doing drugs because I experience ASMR through music and certain noises. I'm not saying to not do drugs because that's not my job to tell you what to do, but I'm letting people know that it is possible to experience intense feelings from music without drugs.
A very kind and caring social media contact, and now friend, shared this with me when my sister died. I'm glad he did. Years later it still makes me cry.

Been many, many years and I still come back to this song again and again. What a voice. Gobsmacked.
Hot take: Florence Welch will go down as one of the best vocalists of the 21st century 💯
Yeah she’s one of the best in the world last 15 years easily.
Foreal tho, hands down
This was the song that reminded me most of my partner when I was in a relationship. We were together for about a year and then we broke up and since that happened, I would start crying like a baby every time I heard this song. Now time has passed. And I'm listening to this and it doesn't hurt anymore. I guess I have now finally moved on. But it still means something to me. This song. It is the musical form of the feelings I had for the person who permanently changed me for the better. I am forever going to be grateful I had them in my life. It doesn't hurt anymore, it makes me think back and appreciate the moments of joy we shared. The stars, the moon, they had all been blown out. But now... now I see the big picture. I am no longer in the darkness with them. I can see, I can see far. My purpose, the purpose of relationships and love, everything is clearer now.
I like you, you seem like a nice guy
i hope one day i'll find my way back too. still trying to make my map out of her stary eyes from my memories :(
jason750 good luck
How does the thought of her being with another man make you feel?
Michael Corcoran I'm polyamorous so it doesn't bother me at all if you're asking me. And they're not a "she". They use they/them or he/him pronouns as far as far as I can remember. So SUCK IT YOU LITTLE TROLL hahaha
I love how she rises on the tail, rather than dropping the note, it gives her band a place to shine; well played!
To say this music is beautiful is an understatement. This is something uniquely sublime.
11 years on and this still blurs my vision
This song breaks barries that I didn't even know existed.
I think in heaven, voices will be like hers... So heavenly and calming.
nadia b. Heaven doesn't exist though.
uncommonsynapses can you prove that?
LauriieBob I can 'prove' that it doesn't more than you can 'prove' that it does: ZERO evidence, only religious stories. Without the creation of religions (by humans) supported by scriptures written by men there'd be zero reason to qualify the existence of heaven as even probable. Further, it is nearly impossible to prove a negative. If I asked you to prove that unicorns or centaurs or mermaids didn't exist, you'd have a supremely difficult time doing so. You'd have to search every inch of earth first, let alone the vast remainders of the universe, to do that. Lastly, the burden of proof is on the person making the claim, therefore if one asserts "X exists," it is up to that person to provide concrete evidence that X exists, not up to others to prove that X doesn't.
uncommonsynapses Dude. Debate club. Check it out, I think you'd like it.
uncommonsynapses because then you can not prove it does not exist?
13 years it was recorded, 13 years ago I feel her live, 13 years 💔😔
the fact that the band is so casual about it makes me think she's this good everyday in rehearsal, which is amazing
" it's easy to be a critic. We had cheap, crummy cameras that had only auto zoom and none of us were experienced camera operators at the time. No director. Two camera instead of four. We did what we could. You're lucky this got recorded at all. Also, Florence wasn't that famous at the time. But thanks"

It feels amazing to listen to it with eyes closed, such a beautiful song
All these years later I’ve still never gotten over this version of this song. Florence is amazing and the harp musician, just wow. Still blows me. And rends my heart in two.
KEXP has to be, hands down, the best platform for artists to break out and get known. The sound engineering is top notch, I have a home studio and I can appreciate the amazing artists sound.
Hi Florence, How much magic do you want in this performance?
Florence: Yes
Florence and her angelical powerful voice always takes me to Heaven, this time with the assistance of an harp🎤✨🎶
The harp...just wow, I want only Florence's songs plaid at my funeral, this will be the closing song of my ceremony
