On my 2019 veloster N I ran the Race Chip programmer and it was damn good, claimed 40hp and 100ftlb increase and it felt like it too. The upside to the Race Chip was no wiring in the car, it was all under hood but I’m excited to see how the JB4 does.
Nice! I’ve heard some good things about the race chip. I hate the wiring process but it definitely gives me reassurance that the JB4 is doing more than just increasing boost. Stay tuned for the next video that I’ll post in the next week of the first impressions.
Thanks! I’ll try to get a driving impressions video out in the next day or two. Can’t wait to see the results of the SXTH element tune, it looks to be really good. I need to get a fuel pressure pump soon, the factory pumping is not liking E30 right now lol. So I’m running 93 octane for now
The installation notes on Burgers website say the OBDII is optional. What do you gain from hooking this up? Or better, what do not get by hooking this up?
Exuse me for not knowing this but plugging into the OBDII port is because you’ve got Bluetooth capability, correct? If so, can you just get a piggyback that gives you a set level of performance 🤔
No worries. Plugging into the OBDII port is needed for the JB4 piggyback, there is a separate Bluetooth connection that you attach to the piggy back that allows you to adjust the tunes on the piggyback. I honestly wouldn’t recommend just get a generic piggyback, haven’t seen the best reliability from those. Stay tuned for my video that’s releasing tomorrow. I’ll discuss that more in that video
Nice K I was wondering what happens with the warranty if anything will the dealership have any issues with this let me know I might be interested in something like this. Thanks K and drive safe.
Sooo my recommendation is to remove the JB4 tune whenever you’re going to the dealership. It takes 5 minutes to remove and reinstall. Also, if something were to happen, the tune isn’t traceable. The ECU still shows stock boost levels on my performance pages, but in actuality it’s making a lot more boost than that.
Lol we tried our best, the wires are honestly too long since this kit is also compatible with the bigger 3.3 twin turbo stinger engine. With the engine cover on, it does look pretty clean 😂
It may not be a true ECU tune but it is definitely a tune, a damn good one at that. I would love to have an ECU tune but I just can’t justify spending that much for one right now. Rather put my money towards more bolt ons
@@cindysue5474 that’s true. Tbh I feel like JB4 is just good as those companies or Cobb, for the most part they all run off of a module that connect to the OBD port just like JB4 does. I know people have their doubts about JB4, but for a long time, the fastest stingers out there all ran JB4, I’m talking 10 second passes in 1/4 mile.
@@b.b3642 If doesn’t void the warranty, it tricks the ecu to show stock boost levels when it’s actually doing higher. I just have to make sure I remove the tune every time I go to the dealer
Good stuff bro! Terry and I are doing a giveaway at 10k subs, let your people know, I’m leaving it open to all builds
Nice!! That’s pretty dope, I’ll definitely share that to the N community on my Insta. Are you ever gonna come down to NC so we can do a collab? Haha
Nice! Can't wait to see your driving impressions on it!
Thanks bro!
The build is coming out nice dam wish I still had the Kona beautiful cat
Thanks! The build is becoming expensive but sooo addicting 🤪😂 are you going to get another N model ?

Did you change out your spark plugs, for this install?
Yes, about 1k before the install
Really cool to see some puls . I'm gonna go with the sixth element 1klite tune . Getting the fuel pressure pump . This week plus spark plugs HKS

@@scottbronder so the OBDII hook up is for you to be able to see data live time on the JB4 app through the Bluetooth module.
@@RobTheNthusiast Is there any sexier way (I haven't looked, but is there an obvious way to get through the firewall?) to install the ODBII cable?
@@scottbronder yes, there should be a slot to insert the wire near the gas pedal
Hey, hope you're doing well. Is this installation for the 2.0l engine?
Yes, it’s for the 2.0t.
@@RobTheNthusiast I have a Kia Optima with the 2.0l Turbo and was wondering if the PNP Fuel Adapter setup is the same? #2 position, correct?
@@Matthew-tx6py I’m not 100% sure, but given that it’s the same engine, it should be the same

Stay tuned, it’s coming this week. I’ve been crazy busy lol
did you disconnect your battery before install ?
I did not, no need to

Will this work for a 2023 Elantra n line 1.6T
Yes and no. JB4 works for the Elantra N line, but you will have to go to the website and choose the Correct tuning module for your car.
I lose the warranty if I put jb4 tune?
Not exactly, stay tuned for my newest video discussing this, it’ll be uploaded today.

Your wires are going to get pinched in the door jam and short out
That’s a possibility for sure. I am going to put black tape or foam protection over the wiring soon
@@RobTheNthusiast your better off finding a grommet in the firewall to pass it through.
