Several people have commented on that, I know Shield is popular but it’s been out for around 5 years now. I’m waiting for the new version but it looks like the ONN 4K Pro is really popular, I may have to do another video in the future with it.
Honestly, a stellar review and I hope a lot of people watch this video, because it's spot-on! I own a few Amazon 4k Max sticks, plus another Google one and the Apple TV (current gen). I couldn't agree more, the Apple TV unfortunately is the king of them all. Simple, clean, and fast interface is just so nice for the Apple TV.
I'm waiting for the new version, the Shield has been out since 2019, I was hoping they would have a new version by now. But maybe I should get it and compare it, people have been asking about that and the ONN 4K Pro.
@landpet The current shield is still superior hardware the only thing that I am a little reluctant with pulling the trigger on one is that it's not on android tv 14, it runs I think 11 still which i don't get why
My Shield started freezing up after 6 months. It cant go more than a week without seizing and needing to be unplugged. The remote also freezes up frequently. I gave up on it after spending way too much time trying to get it to work.
@@landpet I think you're not aware of this issue then. On android TV/google TV, almost all uses 1080p as its UI BUT changes to 4K when content is playing. Nvidia shield TO THIS DAY has 1080p UI. Please check if the rest is 4k or 1080p please. (Don't check your TV settings info, it will show 4K but the UI is rendering at 1080p). You just have to see the text, its apparent its 1080p if you go close.
You are right . In some ways , Apple TV is not flexible like other streaming devices. But the quality of Apple TV is unparalleled. No ads , 4KUI , latest Wi-Fi standards , 1Gbps Ethernet port for high speed streaming , oh boy the performance . I can list more .
@@igloohere Yeah. IMO apple TV wins off of just the fact that really, there isn't much wrong with it. If you wanna side load stuff and game stream, of course the open source filled android TV powerhouse makes more sense, but to a Home Theater enthusiast, everything about the Apple TV is just perfect, even including super fine details like changing the L/R balance of the menu clicks when you're navigating a menu and scrolling right or left. IDK, just feels really polished and responsive.

Don't need this video to know that the Apple TV is the best streaming device. I have the 2017 4K model and it still to this day is as fast as when I first got it. It can handle anything you throw at it with ease. I bought the latest model to go into a second room and the speed is barely any different from the first gen. That's a compliment; it's that good. Apple puts in their own overpowered chips into their Apple TVs.
Question that I've always had - Having an old 4k Samsung smart TV from 2017, still connects to the Internet & loads Netflix with no issue. Purchasing media streamers will it improve the picture quality due to Dolby vision etc.. and being newer?
You need to buy a streaming box, it is very fast compare to even the most modern tv hardware, buy the best what your budget allows cause you can keep changing the tv but that streaming box can remain the same, I am using apple tv (thats the only apple device I have), for the last 7 years it works so smooth still, they still giving updates to a 10 year old device. And as for dolby vision, your tv needs to support to play that....

I have a Fire TV stick and with the use of a splitter I can attach a USB stick and play content on the stick (after installing the VLC app). Does any of the streamers you tested allow connecting a USB stick to play content from?
Nice review, to be fair, I wonder what video streaming service where you need the bandwidth of gigabit and wifi6 :) but i guess it feels better if you spend money that is the latest tech!.
Agree. He seemed to make a big deal of it, but even the most intense streaming apps use 30-40 Mbps maximum. I understand for NAS purposes but that’s probably a use-case for less than 1% of people who purchase these.
you failed to mention what audio codecs each device supports and what it passed through am I able to watch in dolby atmos, dts x, dts hd, what about dolby vision support
I guess only matter for ENG audio tracks and also only if your TV pass-through those format, surprisingly most of TV nowdays can't pass-through TrueHD+Atmos. Also most streaming platforms only supports AAC, DD+ and DTS

@landpet oh yeah every since the release of the first onn 4k streaming device the 20 dollar version was pretty good but the walmart onn 4k pro streaming box, is a major upgrade just the 32gigs of storage. Was a selling point for me and many other features that come with this device and at 50 dollar alot better bargain then the Google streamer
I failed to tell us the Google Home is not matter certified, it can not do local control if you loss Internet connection... Apple TV 4k/Home can be controlled locally!!! Why do you have so many streamer subscriptions? You can only watch one movie at a time....

Amazon purposely doesn't allow Google Tv to show it shows during search, this dates back to their long ongoing feud, much like RUclips on Amazon devices in the past etc. it's not due Google TV not having the ability. to find it. Also no mention of Google TV's "contiune Watching" feature , which is fantastic it picks up where you left off on your last 18 shows or movies if you didn't finish them. Speak for yourself. I have the Apple TV 4k and it blows away all the other streaming boxes. I can continue right where I left off on a show from any streaming service from the Apple TV 4k home page except for Netflix but I think this is problem on Netflix's end as I have no problem with the other 5 streaming services I'm subscribed to

Always some one saying everything is trash other than there beloved Shield Pro. Most consumers could give a flying crap about LOSSLESS Dolby ATMOS in Plex,Kodi or any other app that supports it. And most don't have a huge Library of movies on a server. All they wont is good app support on there current setup. Of the devices mentioned in the Video Roku and Apple TV hands down the best. An example would be lets say the Hulu app Roku(4k DV/Atmos support), not sure on the Apple TV don't have one. Shield(4k SDR) Streamer(4k SDR) Cube/Fire TV Max 2nd gen(4k HDR) and most other main stream apps are the same.

The apple tv is not terrible. I use the 4k as my personal streaming device and ive never had a single issue. And the remote isnt some cheap dingy plastic. Also now i can emulate games with retroarch and i can connect my ps5 controller to play them. So idk why you say the apple tv is bad and stay away from it

No it isn't. Nvidia Shield Pro is easily the best with 4K Ai upscaling. If the best audio and video doesn't matter, you got the best.

According to RUclips, you need 5 Mbps for 1K streaming, and 20 Mbps for 4K.

TP-Link Deco AXE5300 is $249 at Costco. Covers my 2500 sq. ft. House easily. Great speeds in whole house, even outside.
