I guess only matter for ENG audio tracks and also only if your TV pass-through those format, surprisingly most of TV nowdays can't pass-through TrueHD+Atmos. Also most streaming platforms only supports AAC, DD+ and DTS

Do you know if any of these have features that are region locked? I’ve used a Roku & Samsung Tv with free streaming channels and now that I’m using a Fire Tv a lot of the steaming channels don’t work. The same thing happened with Samsung once but after changing the region all the channels worked. I currently have a Chromecast connected but it doesn’t show any live channels option so I’m thinking of getting one of these streaming devices.
Question that I've always had - Having an old 4k Samsung smart TV from 2017, still connects to the Internet & loads Netflix with no issue. Purchasing media streamers will it improve the picture quality due to Dolby vision etc.. and being newer?
You need to buy a streaming box, it is very fast compare to even the most modern tv hardware, buy the best what your budget allows cause you can keep changing the tv but that streaming box can remain the same, I am using apple tv (thats the only apple device I have), for the last 7 years it works so smooth still, they still giving updates to a 10 year old device. And as for dolby vision, your tv needs to support to play that....
I have a Fire TV stick and with the use of a splitter I can attach a USB stick and play content on the stick (after installing the VLC app). Does any of the streamers you tested allow connecting a USB stick to play content from?
Don't need this video to know that the Apple TV is the best streaming device. I have the 2017 4K model and it still to this day is as fast as when I first got it. It can handle anything you throw at it with ease. I bought the latest model to go into a second room and the speed is barely any different from the first gen. That's a compliment; it's that good. Apple puts in their own overpowered chips into their Apple TVs.
Nice review, to be fair, I wonder what video streaming service where you need the bandwidth of gigabit and wifi6 :) but i guess it feels better if you spend money that is the latest tech!.
Agree. He seemed to make a big deal of it, but even the most intense streaming apps use 30-40 Mbps maximum. I understand for NAS purposes but that’s probably a use-case for less than 1% of people who purchase these.
On the apple tv, when you do a voice search for a movie or show, if you scroll down it will show you all the places its available to watch, not just on apple.
The point I was trying to make is if I bought the movie on amazon prime, it doesn’t know that. Neither does the google tv or Roku. It only shows up as free when Amazon offers it free for prime members just like the show Reacher.
Dang man, I'm jealous of the upload speed on the AppleTV. Internet contracts here in Germany have the same speed when downloading, but most upload speeds max out at 50 or 100 Mbit/s, so uploading camera videos to the nas on vacation takes until the vacation ends.
Yeah I moved to an area that has fast internet. Uploading is really fast especially on my 2 computers that can reach the 5Gbps. Granted most of my devices are still on gigabit
Thank you for this video, the best comparison for these that ive found on RUclips. Apple is pretty impressive but ive nothing apple, my Chromecast 4k remote stopped working, so i got the Google tv streamer today and its not great, literally within 5 mins the remote crashed, took out the batteries and put them back, then 20mins later it froze again and took ages, even after battery changes, it randomly just started working. hey there, i know this isn't the right video, but what mesh wifi system would you recommend for a small appartment with gbit up/down internet plan, even though i live in a small appartment the wifi from my isp's router seems to be horrible so need a replacement, looking for something like wifi 6 or 6E nothing crazy, considering im currently using wifi 4 and 5
If centrally placed, you can get an Archer BE550. You can also get a mesh system (2 pack), Deco XE75, Deco XE70 Pro or ASUS XT9 which should get better coverage overall.
I asssume most people aren't savvy enough to sideload apps onto devices to watch essentially whatever you want. Apple and Roku are a no -go for not having that ability
I don’t like fire TV OS, but I have to admit when it comes to hardware the fire cube destroys the Google streamer but end of course the Apple TV is king compared to these boxes
Yeah, I'm going to do a new review adding the Nvidia shield and Onn 4K pro. Some comments came in saying the shield would be superior, only one way to find out
@landpet oh yeah every since the release of the first onn 4k streaming device the 20 dollar version was pretty good but the walmart onn 4k pro streaming box, is a major upgrade just the 32gigs of storage. Was a selling point for me and many other features that come with this device and at 50 dollar alot better bargain then the Google streamer
Breath, just breath… your talking at a million miles an hour in the beginning 😂. Nvidia Shield is far too old now to include, it’s better but only in certain circumstances.
lol, my normal speed is a bit slow so I try to go a bit faster but then default to my normal speed lol. I’m trying to make the video as short as possible while providing all the necessary info.
Bro, for me he was speaking normal speed or it just me being puerto rican which we speaks spanish way faster than eminem could ever rap in his life and talked with chilean which are the fastest spanish speakers.
Apple is going to be hard to jailbreak, where as the Cube is super easy. I am more of a Android guy, mainly because I don't like companies that lock out most of the operating system.
I actually prefer Android over iOS on the phones and I have both OS's. The iPhone 16PM, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and OnePlus 12. But for this, I just like how simple the Apple TV is, if you want anything to do with customization, stay away from Apple.
I have Apple TV 4K and that the best to use and you can watch all of your pictures there and also there's lots of good apps to have to see good movies or anything like that is great too
Having faster Gig Ethernet is a mute point if your Internet is only 1 GB. The bottleneck will always be the Internet. I can have 100 GB ethernet but so what as long as my Internet connection is still only 1 GB.
I failed to tell us the Google Home is not matter certified, it can not do local control if you loss Internet connection... Apple TV 4k/Home can be controlled locally!!! Why do you have so many streamer subscriptions? You can only watch one movie at a time....
nVIDIA SHIELD TV still the best best device with Android TV OS Google TV Streamer and onn. 4K Pro Streaming Device are way behind of on the power and specs. Top overall 1. nVIDIA SHIELD TV PRO (2019) 2. Apple tv 4K 128 GB (2022) 3. amazon fire tv cube 3rd gen (2022) 4 Roku Ultra (2024) PS TEGRA 1X+ and A15 BIONIC by far the best processor for streaming devices. Honorific mention! X1 and XR for BRAVIA TV's from SONY
These are all budget priced which is all good, theses boxes all do 95% the same thing but think outside the box when buying ie do you have a Google or an i phone or ring/Amazon product devices that will also work with these boxes.. if you have extra money to spend the Nvidia shield pro is a clear winner with loads of extra features built in
My Roku stick has been struggling for the last three months. I don’t know why I used to be snappy-ISH. After watching videos, I’m gonna get me an Apple TV. 🎉
I'm going to be doing a new review and it does look like there's enough interest on the Shield that I may have to buy it and include it. I'm including the ONN 4K Pro which got a lot of requests.
I will be making a new video comparison and adding the ONN 4K Pro and looks like there's enough interest in the Nvidia Shield as well. So it will be 6 device comparison for the next video.
I’m not referring to the assistants by themselves. Gemini is definitely more advanced than Siri and Alexa, I will agree with that. If I mentioned anything in the video, it refers to finding videos that I’ve already purchased.
Amazon purposely doesn't allow Google Tv to show it shows during search, this dates back to their long ongoing feud, much like RUclips on Amazon devices in the past etc. it's not due Google TV not having the ability. to find it. Also no mention of Google TV's "contiune Watching" feature , which is fantastic it picks up where you left off on your last 18 shows or movies if you didn't finish them. Not to mention if you have RUclips TV as your streaming service how woven it is. this is why people hate Apple people you just can't give an honest review but I knew you were going to be bias because NOBODY likes the Apple Tv interface , it is the worst. this review is a joke . Also everyone I know with an apple tv HATES that remote.
Speak for yourself. I have the Apple TV 4k and it blows away all the other streaming boxes. I can continue right where I left off on a show from any streaming service from the Apple TV 4k home page except for Netflix but I think this is problem on Netflix's end as I have no problem with the other 5 streaming services I'm subscribed to
I'll be doing a new version with that included. I got enough comments about it that I will add it and make a new version next month. Nvidia Shield also got some interest but not as much as ONN, so still pondering if I should get the Shield.
This isn't even close to all the devices, even major. Apple is hardly considered to be in the market for competition anymore. That said, I feel like I'm the odd one out here... I'm new to these devices, and currently I don't like any of the offerings. A. I don't like Google nor supporting Google directly. B. I prefer Android TV, though stock Android TV has a clunky as heck default UI. C. I got an Amazon Fire TV 4K for $21 recently, I feel like it was a terrible purchase. I don't like the way Amazon forces me to search for my apps. D. Roku. I simply don't like them existing. They're predatory with their practices. Am I the only one who feels lost when in this market? Also, is there a device out there with a custom Android TV UI that looks really good and makes things accessible?
All trash except the Apple TV, but even that is useless currently as it will never support LOSSLESS Dolby ATMOS Audio. (PLEX) Hoping Apple releases a new device soon that does so I can replace my aging nvidia shield....sucks they never released a new version....current version has frame skips which is infuriating.
Always some one saying everything is trash other than there beloved Shield Pro. Most consumers could give a flying crap about LOSSLESS Dolby ATMOS in Plex,Kodi or any other app that supports it. And most don't have a huge Library of movies on a server. All they wont is good app support on there current setup. Of the devices mentioned in the Video Roku and Apple TV hands down the best. An example would be lets say the Hulu app Roku(4k DV/Atmos support), not sure on the Apple TV don't have one. Shield(4k SDR) Streamer(4k SDR) Cube/Fire TV Max 2nd gen(4k HDR) and most other main stream apps are the same.
@@JeffStadt I own just about every streaming device. The only one I can label as "trash" is Apple TV 4K. It's not about the hardware, it's just that TVOS sucks.
You are way off I have every one of these devices plus formula devices and minix devices there are so many other powerful devices out then all put out there. Y’all keep going around the same old devices.
My goal was to compare the most popular devices. Nvidia Shield is the other one I wanted to compare it against but that came out about 5 years ago so I'm keeping my eyes open for the new one in the future.
Apple TV has the most customizable home screen and can be viewed from multiple ways. One can default to a view which shows what’s available to be watched or what’s next in their queue to be watched. Уоυ only saw one view of a small number of downloaded base-level icons, which was hardly customized at all. Search for tvOS feature update videos to find out there’s a lot more to offer.
The Onn 4k Pro is the best steamer for the $$ period! I've owned all of these, with the exception of the Google TV pro. Even the Apple TV is over priced for what you get. And no Nvidia Shield? This comparison is trash 😂
@landpet YES for me the onn 4k pro streaming device better I've had firesticks never own a ROKU device because I couldn't sideload other apps. Same with the Apple device.
The apple tv is not terrible. I use the 4k as my personal streaming device and ive never had a single issue. And the remote isnt some cheap dingy plastic. Also now i can emulate games with retroarch and i can connect my ps5 controller to play them. So idk why you say the apple tv is bad and stay away from it

hey there, i know this isn't the right video, but what mesh wifi system would you recommend for a small appartment with gbit up/down internet plan, even though i live in a small appartment the wifi from my isp's router seems to be horrible so need a replacement, looking for something like wifi 6 or 6E nothing crazy, considering im currently using wifi 4 and 5
If centrally placed, you can get an Archer BE550. You can also get a mesh system (2 pack), Deco XE75, Deco XE70 Pro or ASUS XT9 which should get better coverage overall.
@@landpet cool thanks for the quick response
TP-Link Deco AXE5300 is $249 at Costco. Covers my 2500 sq. ft. House easily. Great speeds in whole house, even outside.
Where is Zidoo Z9X 8k? You should test it too.
Next version, I will be testing the Nvidia shield and Onn 4K pro
Onn 4K pro not part of the “major” group?
No, they are blocking their devices around the world and now are US territories exclusive
@ 😳
Would have liked to seen the Xumo device compared.
What even is that😂
@@ariothegamer5 Google it.
Onn TV, got 3 for less than 90 bucks, no bloat ware, just basic android TV and everything works great!
Some comments came in saying the shield would be superior, only one way to find out
Which TV are you using?
LG OLED C1 48”
I wish you would have had Walmart onn 4k pro streaming device included in this video..
A lot of people are saying that, I may actually consider it
@landpet oh yeah every since the release of the first onn 4k streaming device the 20 dollar version was pretty good but the walmart onn 4k pro streaming box, is a major upgrade just the 32gigs of storage. Was a selling point for me and many other features that come with this device and at 50 dollar alot better bargain then the Google streamer
What about the Nokia Streaming box 8010 32GB?
I haven’t used that one
Breath, just breath… your talking at a million miles an hour in the beginning 😂. Nvidia Shield is far too old now to include, it’s better but only in certain circumstances.
lol, my normal speed is a bit slow so I try to go a bit faster but then default to my normal speed lol. I’m trying to make the video as short as possible while providing all the necessary info.
You're*
Nvidia shield is old and still beats these boxes
Bro, for me he was speaking normal speed or it just me being puerto rican which we speaks spanish way faster than eminem could ever rap in his life and talked with chilean which are the fastest spanish speakers.
@@Jazzinvader Lol no. It entirely depends on what you want but the Shield is more than showing its age these days.
Onn 4K pro??????
Seriously, this comparison is useless 😂
No, they are trash, they are blocking their devices outside the US
@@diyi75ikr
No one would recommend those
@@ariothegamer5 Have two 4k pros, work flawlessly for have the price
Google TV is my favorite, but only because i can kust install whatever launcher i want on it
Buzztv p6 and nvidia shield pro. Blow all these away.
I'm waiting for the new nvidia shield pro, whenever that comes out
Apple is going to be hard to jailbreak, where as the Cube is super easy.
Thanks for your location bro
good content👍
Appreciate it!
I have Apple TV 4K and that the best to use and you can watch all of your pictures there and also there's lots of good apps to have to see good movies or anything like that is great too
TVOS is horrible
11:59 The downfall of diddy ☠️☠️☠️
lol, lots of things are recommended
Nah💀
I thought I was the only one who saw that💀
Having faster Gig Ethernet is a mute point if your Internet is only 1 GB. The bottleneck will always be the Internet. I can have 100 GB ethernet but so what as long as my Internet connection is still only 1 GB.
Some of the devices support 100Mbps while others support up to Gigabit speeds.
I failed to tell us the Google Home is not matter certified, it can not do local control if you loss Internet connection...
Apple TV 4k/Home can be controlled locally!!!
Why do you have so many streamer subscriptions? You can only watch one movie at a time....
I go off internet connection for this video.
I have them so I can show the various options since I review these devices.
Dude my roku remote doesn’t even have a power button
nVIDIA SHIELD TV still the best best device with Android TV OS
Google TV Streamer and
onn. 4K Pro Streaming Device
are way behind of on the power and specs.
Top overall
1. nVIDIA SHIELD TV PRO (2019)
2. Apple tv 4K 128 GB (2022)
3. amazon fire tv cube 3rd gen (2022)
4 Roku Ultra (2024)
PS TEGRA 1X+ and A15 BIONIC
by far the best processor for streaming devices.
Honorific mention!
X1 and XR for BRAVIA TV's from SONY
I’m going to do another comparison with nvidia shield and onn 4K pro in the list based on popular demand.
Omg no one asked
🤔 I'm interested in the one that's future proof with Matter and Thread Smart hub 💯
I think the Apple TV and google beats the other ones
Thanks for the feedback
11:51 The downfall of diddy
Yup, apparently it's recommended.
That Chrome remote looks like AA batteries.
It's AAA batteries
Unfortunately, new Google tv Without hands-free mics smart home features is useless
Check out my latest review. It has the Onn 4K pro which is basically that
I think the Apple TV and the Google streamer looks the best. I love them both.
Thanks for the feedback
You need to mute the alexa commands
I have for some videos, I get comments about that too asking why I muted it or what was the command you gave. There’s no winning either way.
Man you need to mute the Alexa call-outs.
nice! Apple TV is snappy
I hope that you have an iPhone!
@@mburnzy9269 I do. Used to be android person. Now got a 15 pro
@@landpet yes super fast and ad free
Nvidia Shield still is so much better!
I'm going to be doing a new review and it does look like there's enough interest on the Shield that I may have to buy it and include it. I'm including the ONN 4K Pro which got a lot of requests.
Naaaaaahh
Google TV interface + Apple TV hardware = perfection
Interesting idea.
Apple TV and Nvidia Shield Pro TV 4k
I ordered the shield, so I will make a new video including the shield and the onn 4k pro. I want to see if it's better than apple
@landpet awesome response
100mpbs is more than enough for 4k hdr
Should be ideally
The best streaming device is still the nvidia shield 2019 model it's better than all those boxes it has gigabit ethernet port too
I will be making a new video comparison and adding the ONN 4K Pro and looks like there's enough interest in the Nvidia Shield as well. So it will be 6 device comparison for the next video.
His voice sounds normal at 1.25 times speed
lol, it’s not a bad idea to watch it a a faster speed
You don't need 1GB for streaming, and most internet speeds are not 1 GB.
I agree, you don't need that but it's good to have.
Google tv does have find my remote
Yup, I demo it
NVIDIA Shield beats them all
Next review includes that
@@landpet great - i wish theyd develop an updated version, however, maybe its unnecessary.
No. ALUMINIUM.
Lol
I Beg To Differ Google Gemini Is a Better Assistant And Btw If You Set Up The Google Steamer Itll LEt You Say "Hey Google" Handsfree
I’m not referring to the assistants by themselves. Gemini is definitely more advanced than Siri and Alexa, I will agree with that. If I mentioned anything in the video, it refers to finding videos that I’ve already purchased.
Great review! You got a new sub
Would you mind including the onn pro if you revisit this later? Thanks
Thanks for the sub! I currently don't have plans for the onn pro
every? where is the onn. Google TV 4K Pro Streaming Device
It's coming in the next video, next month. A ton of requests for it. I may add the Nvidia shield as well if there's enough interest in that
Amazon purposely doesn't allow Google Tv to show it shows during search, this dates back to their long ongoing feud, much like RUclips on Amazon devices in the past etc. it's not due Google TV not having the ability.
I can continue right where I left off on a show from any streaming service from the Apple TV 4k home page except for Netflix but I think this is problem on Netflix's end as I have no problem with the other 5 streaming services I'm subscribed to
Google TV doesn't allow to show other storefront because their Google Play Payment policy.
Apple TV show Prime Video Store titles just fine.
Onn 4k pro from walmart
(PLEX)
Hoping Apple releases a new device soon that does so I can replace my aging nvidia shield....sucks they never released a new version....current version has frame skips which is infuriating.
Apple Tv is the worst of the group. At this point, My Apple TV's are glorified paperweights. TVOS sucks.
@@BFArch0n ofc apple fanboy would say that
Xiaomi TV Box S
Thats not even a good device
I wish Roku could have apps for streaming games like Xbox game pass or ps remote play

Actually.
lol prime ain’t gonna be good on Google and I think we all know why
You are way off I have every one of these devices plus formula devices and minix devices there are so many other powerful devices out then all put out there. Y’all keep going around the same old devices.
My goal was to compare the most popular devices. Nvidia Shield is the other one I wanted to compare it against but that came out about 5 years ago so I'm keeping my eyes open for the new one in the future.
My AppleTV is the only Apple product I own and its still my favorite device.
it's honestly great
Apple and Roku have UI from 2006 😂
I prefer Apple TV.
nah the apple tv interface looked the worst only second to fire TV
Not for everyone, I like the clean look personally.
Completely biased comparition.
Which one do you like?
most uninformed reviews
How can I make it better?
Roku is trash. Almost impossible hard to sideload.
For regular usage, it’s fine
The Onn 4k Pro is the best steamer for the $$ period! I've owned all of these, with the exception of the Google TV pro. Even the Apple TV is over priced for what you get. And no Nvidia Shield? This comparison is trash 😂
I'm going to wait for the new Nvidia Shield.
Is the Onn 4K Pro really that good?
@landpet YES for me the onn 4k pro streaming device better I've had firesticks never own a ROKU device because I couldn't sideload other apps. Same with the Apple device.
Onn devices are trash, are getting blocked outside the US

The apple tv is not terrible. I use the 4k as my personal streaming device and ive never had a single issue. And the remote isnt some cheap dingy plastic. Also now i can emulate games with retroarch and i can connect my ps5 controller to play them. So idk why you say the apple tv is bad and stay away from it
