❤
Really?
You're Mike Clark??!! Too coooool. Great job!
🥰
Salute to you sir
Only Snoopy could throw hands with a folding chair
The real legend
Hahahaha 😂 Snoopy was way ahead of Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson before Mike Tyson was cool
He gots a badass right straight
🤣🤣🤣 Gotta love Snoopy, he didn't back down.
In Memory of Vince Guaraldi
(1928-1976)
This song could've been an actual hit in my opinion
Absolutely 💯👍
Agreed.
It is to me...I have it on a few of my playlists.
Wdym this is a hit
It is.
Vince Guaraldi was no doubt the heart and soul of the early Peanuts cartoons.
Was he not in the later ones?
If you play anything other than Linus and Lucy, you'll see people try to figure it out. Something so familiar...but I... just... can't... place it...
My 7 year old admires this song so much. He is Mr. Schultz biggest fan and here I am.
❤
It's a peaceful song. I am a true Peanuts Fan
"You don't have any time to play, Snoopy. Just put some chairs around the table."
“Table”
@@coltrv That’s what he said and he didn’t change it it’s not edited
@@MakeYourDay_Good I was making a joke because it’s not actually a table, it’s a ping pong table
Haha, so true, the ping pong table collapsed on him, lol
This song makes life just a bit more tolerable.
Tonio Seven truth!
Even more relevant of a statement Today...
_happiness noises_
Yup. Just watched CBTS and had to go right to YT to watch this song over. Excellent, excellent song!!!
Tonio... Wereinllovewithio 👍
Arrangement of horn sections = BRILLIANT.
Truth
Tom Harrell plays the trumpets and arranged the horns
Jadell And only two horns!
But wait-there have to be more than two horns!
@@Capcoor Yes, there were. This was a Bay Area jazz band (big band) called the Lost Cues.
Agreed. The entire song is just G13 and F13 repeated. The 13th and the 7th notes in the chords are only half a pitch apart, but the arranger separated them by an octave, which really gives the song the vibe it has.
Man this song can relax anyone at tough times...
Ur right brother salute
Some peoples' playing is so unique that you know it's them the instant you hear them. Vince Guaraldi was absolutely one of them.
The first time I ever heard this song, I was a little 2nd grader in Indianapolis and my music teacher played it for us. The way the song paired up with the scenes in the actual episode was just perfect to me. I can still picture the school playground from the music room window with autumn leaves falling and us kids just itching for the recess bell to ring. I'm 25 now and every time I hear Little Birdie, it takes me back to that little 2nd grader who was curious of what the gift of LIFE had to offer!
I don’t know why but this makes me cry. Maybe is the nostalgia, or maybe it’s just that good. Or both.
❤
Two thumbs up! Woodstock made his TV debut in the Thanksgiving show in 1973. I was 9yo and I thought this song was the coolest thing. Still listening and smiling 50 years later.
Wow I never realized that was HIM singing... respect.
Right? I am in love.
Yeah... I was shocked to learn just now, after 30-something years of being a fan, that Vince was such a talented guy! I knew he could compose and play piano, but his voice sounds great here!
Wow he’s amazing
It's Jack Sheldon singing. 🖤❤️
this song is so underrated i mean jeez this is groooovy
So cool. Heard this the other night and my mind went to immediate peace. Just floated off to child hood for a few minutes.
Instantly in a better mood.
you said it. Even though this was 15 and a half years before I was born, I still fuckin love this and it relaxes me. I wish this could've been my fricking generation.
Still producing smiles in 2020. Timeless classic.
My dad was a 70s kid, he was lucky to have this music lol
How can you not love this song? Made my day today hearing this. :)
+Brian Norby Backing music is a redone Linus and Lucy
You are correct...and...I still love it. :)
This song slaps a lot harder when you come back for childhood memories
God I LOVE this! The bass line, the trumpets, trombones, synthesizer . . . this would be amazing to play in a jazz ensemble. I watch this every Thanksgiving and I love it.
Little Birdie is a jazz song. The composer of the song, Vince Gu araldi was a jazz pianist.
I don't think there's any synth in there, just Fender Rhodes electric piano. And either overdubs with the brass, or more than just one trumpet and trombone.
@@Glornt Yea,your right. Since Little Birdie was written in the 1960s, synthesizers weren't developed yet until the 1970s
there's a group 'Butcher Brown' that do a nice cover version of this. it's here on YT.
@@Glornt I think that sound in the background is actually a clavinet, which would have existed and been pretty common back then
A truly unforgettable song
Yeah I’m watching Charlie Browns thanksgiving with my daughter and I was wondering why this song sounds so familiar I haven’t seen Charlie Brown since elementary school ❤❤
Vince Guaraldi made the best jazz music. Turned little kids on to cool jazz at an early age. Had a music class and tried to get the professor to talk about Guaraldi and he woudn't do it. I said everybody in this class has heard of Guaraldi but has no idea who we is. Let's show the class who he is, but he just didn't want to do it; Got mad at me stating as a Music Major I wasn't supposed to be in this class. Told him I wasn't a music major, music was just my hobby, which is why I was so interested in it!
Dig the trombone section with bass trombone. Vince always used the best studio musicians. I think this kind of creative music arrangement, for the most part, is long gone.
Seth McFarland appreciates studio musicians.
It’s not long gone at all. Just harder to find
I cannot wait to watch this with my children every single thanksgiving holiday
I’m having nostalgia for 30 years before I was born
There's a word for that feeling, it's called "anemoia"- feelings of nostalgia for a place you've never been or for a time before you were alive.
This is one of my parrot's favorite songs!
I play this for my cockatiel :)
that niggas got style!
Go back in time with this 1970's childhood classic when life was easier for kids, . No cell phones or electronics and only 5 channels on the tv. Sitting in front of the big box tube tv.🤘☮️ 😆 Peace out ✌️
I listen to this even when it’s not Thanksgiving
❤
Oh yeah, I do too! 😁
The same thing with my dad.
It’s April, I’m sitting in an airport listening to this and The Great Pumkin Waltz.
Thank you for introducing 6 year old me to jazz in 1974
I know right , lol.. My little one is 14 months old and absolutely loves this song. She comes to life and dances to the beat, even when mad at the world and throwing a fit.. ❤
Wish Vince had done more vocal work. His voice is really good!
Introducing the children to jazz...beautifully said my man
This has such an amazing 70s vibe that fills me with nostalgia every time a listen to it!
I'm watching Peanuts.. as i get older growing up with charlie brown i admire him as a cartoon. Now a days there's nothing as good as the old school cartoons!
This always makes me think of Snoopy and that chair fighting😆
Lyrics:
Little birdie, why do you fly upside-down?
It's amazing at the way you get around
Little birdie, why you worry like you do?
Don't you worry, you just do what you can do
Little birdie, things just fascinate you so
And your friend there likes to show you what he knows
Little birdie, he don't mind the way he should
He needs watching, that's when you know he'll be good
Little birdie, can't your friend do nothin' right?
It just seems now all he wants to do is fight
Little birdie, look at what he's trying to do
It's so easy, yet he don't know what to do
Perfect for a fall stroll, warm coffee, ...or ANYTIME! Love this jam
Happy Thanksgiving from 2021 I just got I'm done watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special with my Mom it was amazing.✌😎
Used to work at Camp Snoopy, when this song would play it would transform the whole atmosphere.
It doesn’t have to be Thanksgiving to listen 👂🏻 to this song 🎶
My family watches all the Peanuts holiday movies so this is an important song to me. Gives me a HUGE nostalgic feeling as well.
My thanksgiving song!!
Nicholas Morales yesss! Mom in the kitchen cooking and me helping. She is a huge peanuts fan.
Found this by accident and I'm in love
I remember hearing this song when I was a kid watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, for a long time I couldn't remember the full song except for the little birdie part. But now after all these years , I now know the rest of the lyrics.
Have loved this song since I heard it. Originally taped it on my reel to reel so I could listen to it other than Thanksgiving. So I was ready with my recorder when it was broadcast again in 1974. I still have that recording..with the "You don't have time to play Snoopy" line. Gosh the young me was so much like me still. I love this song. I learned to play it on piano. Favorite line? Little Birdie...He don't mind the way He should, He needs watching...that's when You know He'll be good!
Nice song brings wonderful memories, thanks for sharing
I've never really watched Peanuts... but these are sweet jams!
I loved that movie since I was a little girl! My grandma would put it on for me whenever I wanted to! ❤
Me and my brother were obsessed with the song as like 6 year olds
This might be one of my favorites. It's definitely got the best memories to it.
God this song is amazing lol. Especially the brass, and that sick bass and the keyboards. SOOOO GOOD. I can hear a trumpet, trombones, cornet, bass guitar and keyboards.
"We don't have any time to play, Snoopy. Please get chairs around the table."
I love this song for some reason . Every Thanksgiving it comes on TV i sing it word for word , lol .
i like your one above all profile pic as well as this song🎧
Thank You 😎
Definitely
It describes the beagle perfectly
Oh yeah this is the shit
For Sure
Gonna save this for when I master sampling. This music is amazing.
Listening to this song makes everything better I've been listening to this since I was a kid still do 2019
Wish we got to hear Vince sing more!
do you know of any others he sang besides Joe Cool?
He also does the vocals for "Joe Cool" featured in "You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown"
Thanksgiving 2020
Thankful for this sweet groove.
Damn, I just looked him up. Vince Guaraldi only lived to be 47.. he died of a heart attack in 1976 :(
His songs need more attention.
Ain't nothing like the 60s and 70s jazz!!!
2020: this song makes the pandemia just a bit more tolerable....
Wow! 1973 I was 2 just a little birdie.
As A Single Parent I use to Love watching this with my Daughter when she was little We would both Busy Out Laughing About this song
I heard this song 1 single time almost 20 years ago and it has been ingrained into my brain consistently every few months or so. I could never explain how or why. Maybe this song was the reason I became a trumpet player for 8 years lol
Great song love the trumpt!
I can't tell you what a treat it is to hear this song without the Peanuts cartoon playing behind it (Snoopy fighting the lawn chair). Not that I don't love the special, but in high school, I found a tape (yes, I'm old) of music from Peanuts including Linus and Lucy and this song, got excited and bought it. I should have looked at it closer - it was all covers by... KENNY G!!! AIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE!
I sing this to my Cockatiels...Linus n Lucy :)
Zer0 P4tience my brother who's 16 used to sing this to my step moms cockatiel pipsqueak for fun when he was obsessed with this song. The bird is a female
Just watched the peanuts thanksgivings special and I decided to Shazam this song. I'm so happy I finally know who it's by and where to find it.
I literally just did that exact same thing...i was born in 79 and been watching peanuts since i can remember... best song ever!!!
It's called little birdie by vince g something
Thanks so much for posting this original version. Absolutely love it; love the show, love the song, love the retroness.
The horn part just sick! I haven't even hit the bong yet!!
Those trombones… epic.
Just finished watching this special! Hope y’all have a great Thanksgiving! 😊🍗🦃
my mind is too creative. i love old school/real hip hop music and beats. i wanna remaster this so i can rap to it. this song is classic. i was in class bopping my head feeling it.
My god please do it 😆 thought I was the only one with that feel 😁😄
I just dont have that type of equipement
Any update on this brah
If your mind is too creative, you should write your own stuff
@@aarronvanburen8612 😂 lol this was highschool days 😂 boy i had a vision 😆
I've never done shrooms or acid.... But this song makes me want to do it all.
1:07 BEST BRASS BRIDGE EVER.
Amen! It’s my favorite part of the song
Awesome little tune
One of my favorite songs that has been cataloged in my memory banks. The current nickname of my sweet little niece..Little Birdie.
i love hearing this
Man, I have a dancing snoopy toy that would play this, it's from 9 years ago, it was from Japan, I have it.
Woodstuck rules! He's cute! :)
I have always loved snoopy.
I always think of my little son when I see him.
RIP Vince Guiraldi
I dont know what I like more ..the electric piano ...or the horns...takes me back , and rejuvenates
A very cool tune,my birds love this song.
This song is so relaxing. It makes one feel great inside.
I know it's September but I'm bout to watch Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving right now. I always love hearing them horns blow
This is so catchy!
Mike Clark from the Headhunters on drums!
vince guaraldi ❤️.
Classy song!
That trombone section though... This song is my soundtrack to life on days when I feel mediocre.
This song is awesome and fills me with a calm attitude!
Haven't heard "Little Birdie" for several years. Vince Guaraldi sure knew how to make a theme song tailored for individual Peanuts characters. . .and it's a soothing jazz number to listen to, after a hectic day! 🪶🐥🐤🦉🦜
this song brings back so many memories bro.
Love it it's really good
For some reason this song makes me think of the last week of September
i'm in love with this song! So chill
I've always loved this song.
