The yellow switches are amazing. I recently switched from my 10 year old brown switch keyboard, which I really loved but unfortunately it broke down. I use my keyboard mainly for typing - programming, writing blogs etc and for gaming sometimes. The keyboard is really silent and it just feels amazing. It took me a couple of weeks to get used to it as I was misstyping a lot, but now I cannot go back - the tactile bump on my brown switch keyboard just feels wrong and not needed. Also the review is really bad for measuring the switch sound, because 90% of the sound comes from the key cap hitting the chassis and not the actual switch. There are rubber rings that you can place down under the key caps and make the keyboard as silent as you want.
I'm thinking about getting the one with the yellow switches, but my concern is that I might push buttons by accident while gaming since the actuation point is so small. Did you encounter this issue?
Abdulrahman Alsaleh i just came from a Razer black widow ultimate to a k95 with speed switches... not the yellow razer but about the same thing. It depends what you want. I personally just can’t get used to not having a tactile bump and it just feels weird without one. I do accidentally press keys, but like everything, you eventually get used to it. If you like the clicky sound or tactile bump though, don’t get a yellow switch.
Hey can you please tell me where do you get these rubber rings? I'd like my keyboard with green switches to be a little quitter and I don't want to get different switches because I like the feel of them.

Movie Games what he means is go to a store that sells razer products (e.g. Overclockers if you live in the U.K.) and ask if they can switch out they switches for a different type. You could probably do this for the blackwidow X chroma, but the huntsman uses special switches (the main selling point) so you can't get those switched out.

I have their first run of greens and they were rather awful. That said, I have a Greetech-Razer switch and I find them rather nice. I still prefer Cherry Blues for my clicky switches because the click feels and sounds more solid all around, but they don't actuate the same either.
I purchased my Razer Blackwidow TE with the Green Kaihl switches. The keys were horrible, some of them didn't even click properly. So I messaged Razer customer support, and they said no problem, just cut your keyboard cord with a scissor and send us a pic and we'll send you a new one. They did, and the new one I got is actually pretty decent. I think the new one I got is Greetech? Not sure, I have no idea how to tell the difference. They just feel better. And the fun part is is that the cord is unpluggable from the keyboard, and it's a normal MiniUSB. So I just purchased a cheap generic mini usb cord, so now I have 2 fully working Razer keyboards. I could've sold my new one for money, and basically would've gotten a keyboard for free, but I gave the bad one to my sister instead. Razer products: 6.8/10 Razer support: 10/10 would email again
Interesting, i have the same keyboard as you did, still rocking it with the Kaihl switches for 3 years and no problem what so ever :).Kinda weird how they told you to cut the cord XD, maybe they forgot it's removable haha.
I'm not seasoned when it comes to mechanical keyswitches but I went to try a bunch of different keyswitches and the Razer Greens felt the best by far. I loved the bump.
When I was talking with a friend on Skype and using Cherry MX Blue switch keyboard, it was so loud he said "are you flailing your hands around on your keyboard, or fucking it?"
If I were making switches there would be only four kinds. -All of them would have 35-85 grams of actuation force, going up in 5's. -All would have a 1.5mm actuation point with 3mm total travel distance. -All would be internally dampened to reduce noise. -All would have a center hole design for the LED so the light would travel directly up and into the keycap. -And all of them would be crisp and actuate more stably than current switches while not feeling mushy due to the internal dampening. I would also attempt to develop the switches to be cylindrical so people can use round keycaps if they wish. If not, then perfectly square, so that they could still get round ones, but they'd just have to be bigger than the edges of the switch. Rather than an oval keycap if the switch were rectangular. Anyway. The four variants would be: Linear and Quiet. [Gold] Linear and Clicky. [Silver] Tactile and Quiet. [Cyan] Tactile and Clicky. [Magenta] So, if Cherry adopted my design, an example of a few exact models would be written as "Cherry MX-35 Gold" or "Cherry MX-60 Magenta" or "Cherry MX-45 Cyan" Cool, right? Personally, I'm addicted to the sound of blues, but they're a little loud, and the bump and click don't reset when the switch does. I could honestly go with either of the four, but I think the linear and clicky would be cool as shit because it's unique and new.
After watching this video, I got the yellow Blackwidow Elite.... ITS AMAZING!!! Its my first mechanical switch, and i love it so much. Thank you so much for making this video. It helped a lot.
You can make that tester if you can get your hands on one of each switch. You can use solder glue and have the LED in series with the switch and a battery, which is exactly what they've done with this tester. You can add a capacitor to make a smooth fade out effect to the LEDs too.

Yellow is definitely my go-to... I have become so use to typing on chiclet keyboards that I can no longer stand to use membrane/mechanical keys that requires long travel. The Yellows provide the best 'feel' between a mechanical and a chiclet keyboard, and don't have the annoying 'click' associated with the blues/greens. Orange is just weird to me, as are the Cherry browns...
I feel like things like the razer yellow and gateron clear keyswitches or even cherry brown would be much quieter with those little O ring damper things, so I am interested in how the switches would feel different with them.

Hey guys could you tell me if you think that the Razer greens are too loud? I was going to buy the blackwidow chroma v2 but like there in UK there is no orange switch version here in my country, so I'd like to know if for example when you're playing online with your friends on TeamSpeak or Skype or whatever do they complain about the keyboard noise or not? Or imagine it is 3am in the morning, would you wake up your parents just by using the keyboard? (I'm just kidding). PS: Sorry for potato English. ;)
I wanted the corsair keyboard they had locally with brown switches... loved the keys but the board was 200 bucks! I went with the razer v2 with orange... it felt the closest to the brown... in your video you seem to have confirmed that. I am pleased with the razer keyboard... and I do prefer these keys over my old greens on the 2014 black widow!
Alright so I'm going to sum up each key for you guys who can't decide with everyone saying this switch or that switch is the best, etc. Green switches - Loud keys with a click, good for anything, drawback is the noise IF you have a roommate or you're up late in the night. Orange switches - It's not completely silent, just not as noisy. Better for people who prefer less noise, but still want the feel of pressing a key. Yellow switches - About the same noise as orange switches, but you don't get as much as a feel when you press down on the key. The response time won't be as much as a difference to gaming as people proclaim it is, in my opinion. People search for an overall answer, but it's all solely on personal preference. Hope this helped.
Hey I have a quick question, your feedback would really help me a lot on my purchase. I’m looking at getting a black widow chroma V2. I like the idea that the yellow switches are linear but I’m worried that if I’m typing it’s going to push the keys to quickly for me. I really like the orange and the green. The green I actually like the most hands down but my wife thinks it will be too loud haha. What would your recommendation be for the type of razor switch that I get? Green (tactile clicks and loud, I would have to get o rings for less sound but I’ve heard it barely makes a difference) Or would you go with the orange ? I felt like it has absolutely no type of feedback or click like the green switch. I know the actuation point is lower but it seems like it’s almost hollow. Or the yellow, I’ve heard this is the best for FPS but makes typing almost impossible. I’m wanting to play overwatch and pubg and a few other FPS games. Based on that what would b your reccomendation? I sure wish the orange switch was the same click as the green just without the high pitch sounds. Any help would be great Lee appreciated, and you’ve definitely earned yourself a subscriber. Also I got the Logitech g900 mouse so I was kind of thinking to switch it to a death adder elite or chroma, but I’m really loving this mouse. I’ll probably get the razerkeyboard mouse rgb pad and headphones so it will match besides the mouse. Is it stupid to get two types of brands? I know that you need to run to software to run them both at the same time. Also if anyone can help me sync my Logitech mouse with my keyboard that would b awesome. This is my first build and I’m trying to get my motherboard my NZXT pump my keyboard and my mouse pad (chroma v2, g900) to all light up. If there is a way to link up the mouse with the keyboard and everything else just let me know.
I might don't understand this tech but the yellow "silent" switch is loudy, I don't even understand why they advertise it as "silent"... I have used a silent keyboard before (very cheap ones), and they are silent for real! And they only cost $10
I had the mx silent switches first on a corsair keyboard but they felt and sounded really awkward to the point where I had to return it, especially in that price category. Now I have the razer orange switches and they are perfect.
Also the fact that I have a Corsair K55 RGB ( membrane ) makes it harder for me to find key switches for a membrane but I’m ordering a mechanical on Amazon
I don't understand why people care so much for these clicky sounds, when i am playing game(seriously, basically all the time) i don't even hear the keyboard :l
the green switches are iconic or razer, they really push that """gamer""" feel. For me though, they're just too scratchy. The orange switch is really nice, it has a "thoccy" kind of feel while still imitating the green switch. I really appreciate how silent they are compared to the greens, and i dont think i ever want to use a green again after using both a blackwidow and the very cursed ornata chroma with rubber membranes. I have the blackwidow tournament edition with the orange switches and it feels phenominal. seriously, if you're craving a "thoccy" keyboard like most keyboard channels praise, but dont want to sell your house just to buy/build one, i cant suggest this keyboard enough. it's a really great budget option.

Is it just me or is the yellow switch louder than the orange?
BruhItzRuRu yeah I noticed that too.
Remember not only the switch makes sound but also the Keyboard Chassis as well, so in few words the keycaps and the backplate contact also make noise
Ikr, I was like wtf
So you can put the most silent switch of the world on a loud keyboard body it will not be silent, that's what I mean.
captin cookie it depends on how hard you press on the keycaps as well
The hardest thing about these sound comparisons is that most of the time you’re just hearing the key bottom out rather than the switch itself.

Recommend trying Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2 with Orange Switches, it is very satisfying
This has been a great help. I spilled tea on my current Orange Razer keyboard, and now need a backup in case it dies.
I love the razer green switches using them to type this :-)
i hate them using them to type this
@@Andrew-uq6vh I'm not using them to type this

Comment your favorite, mine is the yellow switches :3
How do you get the switch tester?
I wanted the corsair keyboard they had locally with brown switches... loved the keys but the board was 200 bucks!
I went with the razer v2 with orange... it felt the closest to the brown... in your video you seem to have confirmed that. I am pleased with the razer keyboard... and I do prefer these keys over my old greens on the 2014 black widow!
i love satisfying keybourd clicks man
If you don't want to annoy your roommate/family just don't even buy a new keyboard, just got kicked out of my family ;-;
0:01 when you're randomfrankp.
Stolen
Stolen and horrible joke
love the clicky sound :)
Green (tactile clicks and loud, I would have to get o rings for less sound but I’ve heard it barely makes a difference)
Or would you go with the orange ?
I got the razer blackwidow with orange switches It's really nice :(
That's what I'm getting. I want to tactile bump without the noise. Orange is the only option.
what a sad face when you're saying it's nice???
sapnu puas
flip your desktop upside down
and pin me frank
Luca Adornetto overused
Jokes on you, I'm on mobile
Luca Adornetto yea I like almost never watch RUclips on a computer lol
lol
too bad you didn’t get pinned
I might don't understand this tech but the yellow "silent" switch is loudy, I don't even understand why they advertise it as "silent"... I have used a silent keyboard before (very cheap ones), and they are silent for real! And they only cost $10
Ivan Melendez I see what you mean but that noise is the cap hitting the backboard of the keyboard if you put a o rings it wouldn’t make that noise
Loveeee the yellow switch with the sound dampers. It feels like I'm typing on a marshmellow.
i don't think a more detailed and full-coverage video of... anything.. ever, exists.
I Just Love The Green Switch Because..
The Click What Else did You Think??
Orange or Yellow? Love the silent of the orange one but the Yellow has only 1.2 mm that's the reason why i don't know which one to choose
W4RCHEUR yellow
W4RCHEUR It doesn't matter lmao. It's pretty much a marketing gimmick at this point.
W4RCHEUR the yellow is just as silent as the orange
Krift Thanks that's the one i was about to buy
W4RCHEUR np dude
ive got black widow X chroma
green switches are nuts ))))
Keeping ESC no keycap very easy to know which switch are using. Distinctive idea and also a lot of helpful.
This is such a great review. Thank you!
Now we just need a linear clicky switch. xD
3:34 drop the bass😂😂
Those Razer Orange switches look the best to me.
I'm getting a BlackWidow keyboard and it's my first mechanical so what do you think I should start with?
Does the green and orange switch feel the same? Or do you feel the missing clicking on the orange switch?
"i would recommend going outside a bit" aw man i just got roasted
Frank: There are three Razer switches
Me, and intellectual: PuRpUlE
Green is my favorite because it’s weird when the keys click fast or somthing lol and I might forget what I was typing
My to
Linear are the best ngl
I had the mx silent switches first on a corsair keyboard but they felt and sounded really awkward to the point where I had to return it, especially in that price category.
Now I have the razer orange switches and they are perfect.
Yellow sounds so good. I was planning on buying a razer BW v2 but didn’t know which key to get, but now I know. Thanks ;)
2:20 lol
?
Green switches are the best
i have the green switches, been having em for probably around 1 year and a half. i still love them, they feel great, sound great and work great.
I dont wanna annoy my friends so im sticking with my romer-g
Tactile blue switch is the best for me😃😉😉
Green: 2:10
Orange: 2:45
Yellow: 3:29
The green is my personal fav. I like really clicky and noisy key switches
LBK Buildz me too
Me too!! Except I use silent ones now for playing online with an open mic
Zachery I see what you mean. I would use silent keys but I have a headset
Also the fact that I have a Corsair K55 RGB ( membrane ) makes it harder for me to find key switches for a membrane but I’m ordering a mechanical on Amazon
The orange switches are the best "color" of keyswitches that have been made yet. Best of both worlds, just a superior Brown
Who else wants yellow stats in green version?
Not possible
I have The Blackwidow Chroma v2 with The yellow switches and trust me, this keyboard is freaking amazing.
@@dexxyhighlights7615 What do u mean not possible check out the huntsman elite
@@dankhatana6130 those are optomechanical switches that has their own stats.
Green noise and yellow stats holy this would be epic
Which switch is best for typing?
orange (more silent) or green
green best for typing only.
Vibe Replayz what about the yellow, why its not good for typing?
built for fast gaming, not typing.
Vibe Replayz is that mean it’s impossible to type with the yellow one? Cus i already ordered it n im worried, shoud i cancel the order?
I don't understand why people care so much for these clicky sounds, when i am playing game(seriously, basically all the time) i don't even hear the keyboard :l
the difference is that the silent one is more soft on the hand than green so thats why i prefer orange
Everyone you're playing with do
the green switches are iconic or razer, they really push that """gamer""" feel. I have the blackwidow tournament edition with the orange switches and it feels phenominal.
seriously, if you're craving a "thoccy" keyboard like most keyboard channels praise, but dont want to sell your house just to buy/build one, i cant suggest this keyboard enough. it's a really great budget option.
can we just buy the switches or do we need to buy the keyboard
The oranges sound like a cheap spondgey membrane keyboard
When I touch my keyboard it sounds like I'm slamming it so if I get the green switch razor keyboard it'll work out fine :P
I love the sound and feel from the green one! Was testing it at target haha
2:10 2:45 3:30 sound comparison
the "sound test" are jot really precise or cured, you can hear that a big part of the noise is coming from the table underneat.
For those you asking how to get the module. They only send you for making videos online. Don't ask it.
I think green is for the win. Anyone else?
Xenvi i think sound shouldn’t be too important and weight and timing is more essential
4:58 😂😂
5:24 typing upside down eh?
Is the razor yellow good for late night gaming without making annoying click noises
Which one is loudest: Romer-G or Razer Yellow? Big difference?
