A building is designed by Architect and the structural details are designed collaboration with structural engineers and once it’s finalised the set of drawings are handed over to civil Engineers who carry forward the work on site. These people don't have any idea about how the field works. We have to sit and explain every time we meet a prospective client about what we do. And this misguidance with all these false information adds so much pain and time wastage for us.

You missed a lot of points. Architects deals with design than engineers. Engineers works with architects in structural design for complicated structures, high rises etc. Architects do a lot more things what is said in this video. Some of the things are user analysis - to make buildings more user specific based on experiments and studies, activity-space relation, etc. We design buildings with respect to micro climate for achieving ample lighting and ventilation, by learning the wind direction of each location, sun path study, light and shadow study etc. To make more energy efficient spaces. We learn about design and it's psychological impacts on people, kids, physically/mentally challenged like colours and different shapes. We research on materials, we learn about environmental impacts of buildings. We do market study, feasibility study, economic study, footfall analysis, customer acquisition strategies etc. while designing commercial projects and public infrastructure, We do project management, time management, working drawings, sanction drawings, shop drawings. We do lighting, furniture and landscape design. We do urban/rural design and placemeking to improve wellbeing among communities, to improve tourism, to provide more job opportunities. We do more than just buildings, which this comment section is not sufficient for. We basically do things based on research and logical analysis yet nobody hire us. Why do you think architecture is a 5 year course and engineering is 4 years?

I am an architect and by brother is an civil engineer i am designing,making spaces comfortable for all types of people ( blind, handicapped,etc) whereas my brother looks after the structure and estimation.. both civil and architect make the building from lvl+0.spread some positive vibes.

No, for architecture you have to do B.Arch course. and for Civil Engineering you have to do B.Tech course. both are different in terms of course. But if you love designing and creating the space and having good knowledge of the Functional part of the planning then you can simply make an Architectural Drawings and sign it (signature) from an Architect. You just have to pay less amount for signature. means Design is yours and signed by an Architect. (Its the best alternative way if you want to design a building)
