My 1990 SL 300-24, has high idle at 1500rpm, i did change the overvolt relay and it dropped to 1100rpm, However now the car has been run for a few miles i have a 500rpm when drive is selected and in neutral its back to 1500 rpm. Your video may help me but for now having just got the car back on the road after being stored for 7 years i will live with it.AND do something in October, many thanks a very good video.
I can't say how defective throttle behaves on manual transmission cars. Here in USA we do not have manual Mercedes W210s. Maybe seen custom ones but I haven't seen one yet. If manual and auto cars have same throttle then put on ignition and listen to throttle with engine off. Throttle should be making buzzing noise if it works.
Hi youre a pretty detailed mechanic, on a 2001 s600 v12 the first 3 starts seems the car has very slow throttle response. After shutting off and restarting 3 or 4th time the car has great throttle response... ever heard of that? Thank you

I disabled and reassembled my ASR Throttle body. Now the engine reacts only when I go half way on the throttle pedal. And the Dashboard has the ASR light on. Any idea what I could have done wrong?

I've a 94 E320 M104 W124 that I had the wiring harness replaced several years ago because the insulation was cracking up and falling off the wires. Since that time I've not had cruise control, ever, and lately I've been seeing an intermittent idling problem (drops so low when idling at a stop light that sometimes it dies). More to the point, though, I'm seeing codes 5 & 6. I'm guessing that the odds are good that my throttle body wires are shot like the harness was, for starters....

I have cold start idle problem on my 1995 E320. Engine idles erratically between 400-1000 RPM when it's cold. It starts and idles fine when warm. Also, the non ASR ETA clicks when it is cold. I also hear ticking like a typewriter on the idle speed module under the passenger floorboard. Car runs fine when warm though. Cruise control works too. I also have a code 17 "Data exchange error between modules" from my built in diagnostic. Is it a bad ETA or idle speed module? Could it be a bad OVP?
I have a 2002 C32 and throttle surges to 2-3k I had the TB cleaned last year using about 2 TB cleaner and it went away but returned this year...I had a different friend clean it this time and it worked but returned about 2 weeks later..any recommendations?

Hi Victor, I have the same non asr throttle body in my w140 s320, but when turned into ignition the throttle body is not energised. As soon as the ignition is turned on the throttle body clicks and goes into limp mode. Great help if you can tell me why this happens.thanks
Also after pushing this hard upto redline and restarting the engine sometime when it gets heated the cruise control works and idle drops. But after cold start and driving fir half hour the cruise control doesn't work and idle is around 1200 rpm. Sometimes the engine also suddenly dies. After after starting it agian the car goes to limp mode

I changed the throttle sensor and it was ok.no lights on the instrument panel.but as soon as i wash the car the lights ( ASR + ABS + Oil light ,+ batt.....) .I think I have a short somewhere.please can.you help.I am spending lot of money and it seems all our mechanics are stupid.
Wow...I replaced the timing cover gasket and then started the engine, heard a noise in the upper engine and cracked the cam gear shaft on the intake cam....what did I do wrong ?
Throttle bodies and control modules are different. In theory it might be possible to swap computers and throttles and maybe some harnesses rewiring and ASR unit will work in non-ASR car. I never did this kind of swap. It is easier to repair existing system than to adapt to another

Victor how would you know if its a non-asr from asr without seeing the throttle body out of the car?

Don't know what engine you worked on. But valve cover gaskets replacements usually do not involve touching cams or cam gears.
