If the track tension had to be continually adjusted, it sounds like the lockout was not engaged. In other words, the Soviets did not know what they were doing in spite of the "complete documentation" they captured along with the tanks. It is hard to believe that these tanks were just left without being destroyed by the Germans. That usually was the case if the tank broke down or ran out of fuel and it could not be recovered.
Interesting about the poor quality steel in the armor. Especially since Germany in building ships like the Bismark had used two specially face hardened steel types, WW and WH that were both more effective than normal steel armor so Germany certainly had the ability prewar and early in the war to make steel of better quality than the other combatants
King tiger probably had 4 rounds in while is2 was reloading 2 piece ammo.or missed on first 2 shots lol..most 13 were abandoned and broken down since they were fairley new
Loading a round that was a 100 pounds and drove about 50 Km on a tank of gas? All gooderish? Not one bridge could support the Fat Ass and easily flanked. Nice Cannon though. There is an example in Normandy of how aggressively the ALLIES tried to punch one in the face! They went around it after the crew ran out of fuel and Ammo.
giving a Russian a king tiger to drive is like giving a 16yr old a turbo Porsche to drive it going to be a big fail and the tanks were left behind as they were not running right most likely

Overheated right engine??? Are you sure you're not describing an elefant, with electric drive? Theyd 2 engines, but not a king tiger
Possible translation error? Perhaps they meant the right bank of the V12
