The funny part is that by season 6, when this takes place, Sam and Dean are both more experienced hunters than Samuel Colt is at that point in time.

@@wjzav1971eh, time travel here shows more of the "its impossible to mess with fate" side. With the exception of this time period, when it's SUPPOSED to work for them every other time set things in motion: the Winchester family, the Titanic, etc
@ajdominguez1002 ehh, the Titanic was more the Angel of Fate getting pissy that they messed up the plan, and she happens to win out in the end, they just weren't prepared to beat her, but they could have. On the Winchester Family, there have been hints around that could be changed both in the show and on The Winchesters spinoff

But now it’s a lot more difficult and draining than it was before.” I can’t remember exactly what it was but I got the vibe that time travel for the angels was like a system that got more damaged and difficult especially for the lower class of angels like cas.
like the system they had for time travel was easier and something happened and now that system just barely scrapes by, I wanna say time travel for them was like flying before 9/11 easier and faster but after 9/11 it slowed way down to a crawl with a lot more rules and regulations. A really odd example but it’s the one my mind came up with 😂

The angels have already stated at this point that time in this universe is the sort of thing where everything that has, does, and will happen is essentially occurring at the same time. So there's no "original" version of their timeline where colt doesn't hear it from sam

my last straw was (and i forget the season, sue me) when dean, after having a bromance with a vampire, killed a childhood friend of sams because he couldnt trust her to not be evil. way out of character and was a complete hypocrite.

because it’s not like people are often hypocrites. 😂 It happens all the time, also there’s a thing that let you change your point of view and reasoning. It’s a brain if you don’t know. In books or shows it’s called character development.
Sometimes you do things certain way because you have been thought to do things this way, and at some point in your life this way proves you wrong and you either embrace the change or go full ignorant and stay in your safe bubble of being wrong.
In this particular situation Dean embraced his mistake and changed. Sam of course had problem with this because it was hypocritical from Dean. But yet it was the Sam way of solving problems with “friendly monsters” overall better than Dean and Dean saw it, but too late. Sam had a problem since it was always done Dean-way up until this point and he felt just angry of it.
It really happens. I was like this when it comes to gay, and I was stubborn to the point that I was having a tantrum over it. Now I have gay friends, and it’s normal for me. Am I a hypocrite? Yes I do. Should I revert back to be a hater? God please no. I embrace that I was wrong and go ahead in my life. Nothing wrong with it. You don’t need to be the same for your entire life. 😂

I love that after they kill the Phoenix, they dont get the ashes they need in time. Colt ends up mailing them to them in the future so they can still have them. He finds the address and date in the blackberry, aka magic brick.

I like the reference to "the vapors" used in this. For anyone not up on medical history the vapors was basically just a catch-all for things like anxiety and excitability (not the best definition but it works)

This was one of the backdoor pilots they wanted to make into an actual spinoff series. The problem with Supernatural is once you do Satan V. God, it's hard to scale it back down to monster of the week.

An actual good way to tell if a time traveler actually travelled Time into the past from the future is if it’s been more then a decade they travelled through , is that a virus could probably be mutated to affect(kill/infect) you, that the time traveler would be immune too.

I hated the way that a Phoenix was just a guy with a fire hand and came back from the dead.
Love this song. The start reminds me of Happy by Pharrell Williams.
It's sad the colt dies. But the demon blade survived. I can't recall the last episode it appeared in within season 14 or 15.

I can't believe it didn't come to me until now but basically, at the start at least, Sam and Dean are basically Hunters from Hunter Th Reckoning, like think about it, 2 average humans that are just well equipped to kick the ever-loving s*** out of monsters, constantly relying on ties and connections to stay equipped and make leeway in their investigations, they almost always kill whatever they're hunting, and it's always them against one thing they could absolutely murder their asses, or occasionally a few things and then as it progresses they both change to different races, Sam becomes more of a mage, is Dean a demon, like a straight-up demon
Damn I miss this series.
Never seen the show and I have two assumptions from this clip, tell me if im right or wrong:
1. The actor playing the older gentleman is from Ireland/Northern Ireland. His accent slips at times and he sounds EXACTLY like Liam Neeson, who is from Northern Ireland.
2. Seeing how these time travel episodes tend to go, im assuming the younger guy is the one who actually kills the phoenix but writes in the book that it was the older man.
