This project has many things going for it. Eye appeal, basic tool requirements and a fairly rapid build compared to other crafts. Thanks for keeping it at a level that makes us want to build them!
I made one and put it in my living room next to my TV, it isn't as nice as yours but it's been getting a lot of attention from visitors. Thanks for the idea, man❤❤❤
These things are awesome! I think these were the first plans I ever bought from ANYONE, and they are totally worth the small amount of money. I've sold quite a few of these myself, and David is right; they make awesome gifts around the holidays. Sweet video as always! 👍🏻👍🏻
Sweet, easily batched project David! Love the video transition using the middle hole. Great point too about not offering too many choices. One step to maybe streamline the ripping - rip the first outermost piece, flip the board over, rip the other outside piece, then move fence to rip the middle piece (saves one fence move). - Jim
Great video! I love how you share all your craft show experience. I know that some craftsman are reluctant to share their craft show tricks as they think it might affect their income. Nice to see how you are completely open to helping others.
You're absolutely right....they sell every time. If I'm not batching, these are a great way to use up scrap. Hoping that the various color schemes I've made don't result in buyer indecision. I'll find out next weekend
White Grain Woodworking sure thing. I'm located in the Bay Area, CA and I'll be doing a large street fair show next weekend. You can find me on FB @SquareInchWoodworking LLC if that's easier to keep in touch.
I bought the plans and made one a while back. Going to be doing a craft show soon. This was a great video to remind me that as a wine lover I loved the one I made for myself... So obviously other wine lovers will like one. I like that you showed how easy it is to batch them out. I can't wait to see the gift box video. I always love your videos.
I made about Thirty of them and they are going like crazy a near by winery took 15 I made a template out of MDF and it works outstanding Thanks for sharing
Very cool. Thank you. I have watched a lot of your videos. Love your work. I'm thinking maybe you should lay off the coffee. Lol. Trying to understand why you do everything at 100 mph. Relax and smell the saw dust once in a while. Thank you for all of the great lessons. I'm a fan.
I love how you batch things out. I try to be as efficient as possible, so I really appreciate seeing stuff like this. Great video. Can't wait to see the box!
I agree with the pattern bit comment...I've had to fix several items because the wood splintered. Some looked better when fixed and a few went into the scrap bin. It is exciting when a 4" shard goes flying though.
I have made batch of these upto the point where I need to round over the edges, do I finish the edges of the 3 holes with round over bit or should I leave as is. I couldn't make out from the video how you finished it. Thanks for all your great videos.
Love these! I made one for us awhile back and a bunch of our friends have asked where we bought them. Need to make a few as gifts for this year. Can't wait to see the box too to upgrade them a bit more!

thank you for the video, ben making a few bottle openers and selling them for $13.00 now want to try the wine caddy, may I ask how much you sell them for?
Awesome information, I’m with you cutting on the bandsaw is the best way. I had one get away from me on the router table ( end grain) Scared the sh!) out of me. Thank you for all the great tips. Oh yeah lovin the new red sneaks 👍👍👍Take Care.
When you cut the board into strips, instead of changing the fence, make the first cut and then flip the piece over. You will still keep the grain pattern. You are changing bits, and settings often. Drill all the holes for one bit first, then change. After gluing all the strips together and planing them, cut to length on miter saw they would be easier to handle.
Cant flip the piece over because only one side of the board is jointed. The other side is rough from the saw mill. To do so would be an extra cut. Other tips are great and is what I normally do but for the sake of video...
That a bonavita coffee maker? I have that coffee maker. Best coffee maker ever. Thanks for the great video, i work for a winery, I will have to make one for my office.
Thank you so much! I bought your plans and had a great time making these! The one thing I did not understand is in the video you say thin down polyurethane, but in your written instructions, you say light coats of a wipe on satin polyurethane. I’m confused.
I think I will actually make some of these for the Spring street fair in my town. Already have one batchable project ready to go, this might be a good second one.
Awesome! Great video, I love it! I feel the same way about spray lacquer. I actually got sick from it for a few days and shellac is a PITA. Can you briefly explain the thinning down of the poly? I'd love to give it a try. Thanks and you're the best!

Thank you for another informative video. Out of curiosity, how many do you sell on an average day at a fair and how many do you take with you? My thinking is, if you keep selling out, why not make more for the next fair?
One idea for extra money - make a wooden plaques on the laser to hang on a chain or twine around the wine bottle - "Congratulations", "Happy Birthday", "Happy Anniversary", and "I love you". I bet you can sell the plaques for $10-15 each along with the wine holders

Do you have a good source that you could recommend? You offer some very good examples for us weekend woodworkers to follow. Thank you!
Look for Libbey Glass. They are made here in Toledo and have an outlet store so I get them super cheap for $1 each. But you should be able to find them in your local retail shops.
A beautiful project as always, thanks for sharing your insight with those of us still bring our products to craft shows etc. -and don't do a river table style = Greg Klassen = trouble.
I have the plans. Have made a couple already. Love coming back to watch this for motivation. Btw... Did you do a gift box? Did I miss it? I would love to see one.

Mineral spirits. Not sure the ratio. Maybe 50/50. I never measure.
