I love how you explain every step during the painting process! Your basket turned out beautiful! My ideal picknick basket would be a natural dark wood color with a pink and white gingham fabric liner and a separate little fabric baggie for all the cutlery. The top would have those strappy things that hold all your plates. Scenery: Apple orchard / big natural looking park with trees or by the lakeside Food: Definitely a whole cake with lots of whipped cream frosting (super impractical, I know it would melt in seconds). Like a strawberry shortcake. Or a naked cake with lots of berries and whipped cream. Grapes and other fruit for aesthetics. Croissants, Danish pastry and little fancy looking breads. Clotted cream and a variety of jams. A giant piece of ham, you know like the cartoon version on ham. A refreshing green and leafy salad and a hearty potato and egg salad. Lemon-cucumber-mint lemonade
Omg, I would SO come to this picnic 😱. And YES to that whipped cream and berry cake! You can see on my Instagram how I brought a whole cake for a picnic. The trick is to assemble it AT the picnic. I made buttercream and brought it in a piping bag. If you did that with your whipped cream and kept it with an ice pack you could probably do it! 🍰. And goodness me, minty lemonade and ham?! Yes please 👏
My ideal picnic: The ideal location would be near a pond, in the grass, watching the birds fly around. My dream basket would be brown with a yellow and white plaid lining, with the snap in strap holders for plates, cups and utensils; As far as the inside contents, I would bring fried chicken, potato salad, orange fluff salad cause you have to have at least one vintage dessert salad on a vintage picnic, and cherry cheese danishes for dessert.
What a lovely basket! My ideal picnic basket would be a very classic wicker one (Fortnum and Mason-style). It would be quite big and possibly rectangular, with leather straps on the inside of the lid to hold a set of vintage china picnic plates, cutlery and glasses. I would also like for the inside to be lined with pretty floral fabric. As for the food contents, I would also go for a small but full cake, as well as an assortment of tea sandwiches.
You keep surprising me with your talent: you sing, you sew, you paint! Seeing you paint bob ross style was very calming and your basket looks adorable ☺️
Your picnic basket makeover is beautiful. When not used for picnics, this would be a cute storage basket as well. It's been a long time since I've seen Bongo Bear, but this does remind me of it.
Beautiful!!! 💝
Wow! That looks awesome! Great job with the painting!
Definitely craving a picnic right now!
Yay!

@MirandaMilner The assembly at location is a great idea! I think I'll try that at a small scale picnick!

My perfect picnic basket would be Kate Spade inspired polka dots with reflective elements to walk home after watching the sunset 🤗
Very creative! The the Kate Spade polka dots gives me Minnie Mouse vibes ✨
Looks amazing! my perfect picnic basket would be very colourful, maybe a colour block or a kitchy arcade carpet pattern
Oooh, sounds fun! 🎨
I didn’t know that this was niche until I started collecting vintage picnic baskets
