I followed your techniques and I have never looked back! It totally changed my hair game and I always get compliments, thank you so much for this :) Best tutorial for hair colouring out there
Thank you so so so much. I’m a full-time Nursing student and quite frankly, I don’t have the money to spend at the salon. I tried this last night on my hair and it’s everything I wanted and more!!! I love it so much!
This is exactly what I was looking for!! Love it, i would say that we have same hair color and I didnt want something to radical, and this is perfect. Congrats and hope it will work for me! Kiss from Spain!
Thank you so much for the back brushing technique prior to dye application! I was trying to figure out how to do balayage on myself without dislocating my arms! LOL! Brilliant and it looks so pretty! You have a nice gradient and it is very subtle blending. Well done and thank you so much!
I can't believe I've never tried back combing doing an at home ombre. I've done it twice, and both turned out nice... just not AS blended and "natural" as I would have liked. I've been wanting to do it again since summer is approaching. Definitely will be trying it THIS way this time. Yours turned out absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
I completely loved you technique. I'm totally going to do it this way, coz the first time I messed it up even though I watched a lot of videos. Cheers!
Yours turned out so pretty! Guys I tried to do this and I turned straight blonde... so if you don't have much experience dyeing your hair at home I recommend going to a salon if you're going lighter
Wow, I am impressed. I wondered what color you would turn out, it is so subtle. Not one harsh line, just really, really impressed! I have dark brown hair and is extremely thin and fine but I have a devil of a time getting the color to lift. My hair is not as dark as your's and I love the color you ended with. Is it the back-combing that makes it blend without a line from one color to the other? Can't say it enough, nice. What would a salon charged for that, color service is outrageous, and I want to get my daughter to do this -- I will definitely have her watch this! Thanks for sharing!
Someone else asked the same question, How long was the product actually on your hair since you had to do all the back combing and cut more foil during the time?
I LOVE your balayage/ombre going on there. Just to let you know, I did check the Revlon site, and they are still selling the Honey one. The packaging is just different. But I am unsure of the formulation, whether it has changed or not. But I am SO going to try this! BTW, I also love your eye makeup. Can I request for a tutorial, brand & color that you used in this video?
Because you teaz your hair (aka- back brushing), when you are washing your hair out, do you happen to use a deep conditioner to untangle the mess? Looks great! very informative DIY hair project!
+Gina Riddle I usually try to comb it out with my fingers before I wash out the dye. That seems to minimize any damage. Also, the Revlon kit includes a pretty nice conditioner!
Ok I'll admit it, I seriously had to LOL. All those sections of your long hair with foil on them kind of reminds me of Predator's dreadlock looking things in the Alien VS Predator movie. You hair turned out very pretty. Thanks for the tutorial.
The Frost and Glow Kit does contain bleach. I've since updated my Ombre routine, and now I use a separate bleach/developer. Then I add a toner/dye mix. Thanks for watching!
Hi! I'm gonna be doing my hair today, and I wanted to know some things, or maybe one things. Heh, Ii just woke up and still focusing my thoughts a little. But, how do you wash the product out? Do you just dip your head under the faucet? Or do you go shower like normal all naked and stuff? And when washing it out, can I use my normal shampoo/conditioner? I'm hoping to get an answer soon, please ^^; Thank you! Your video has been the only one that really gives me the tutorial I was looking for! Also I have 'dirty' blonde hair in colour.
the ends of my hair tend to look quite brassy after ombre. do you do any toning afterwards? what is your original hair color? also, your hair looks so healthy despite the bleaching... do you use any deep conditioning etc?
Yes, I always tone afterwards. The color I use varies every time. It depends on what look I'm going for. My original hair color is very dark brown/black, and I typically don't deep condition that often, but I really should! LOL
+Anna Lackaňová I left mine on for approximately 25 mins. But it will really depend on your hair type how long you should leave it on. Make sure to follow the directions provided in the box kit!
Hello girl, I have a question about hair teasing. Maybe it's stupid but, what is the purpose of teasing the hair? I'm just abit question about that part. I really want to do ombre at home since I want to change my look since after I give birth 5 months ago. Thanks btw
Congratulations! Not a stupid question at all. We tease the hair to ensure a nice blend of color. If we didn't apply the backcombing first, the gradient wouldn't be as natural looking. Hope this helps!
Slowly and carefully. I had this done at the salon and they pulled out so many of my hairs doing this process. I'll never get it done at a salon again!
did you use toner ? what kind please also, what about timing ? it would take so long to do your whole head that the bottom layer would be on a lot longer and you said not to leave it on longer than the box says.
Typically, virgin hair takes to bleach and dye better than previously colored hair. However, the darker the natural hair is, the harder it is to achieve the color you want and avoid brassiness. It may take a few sessions over a period of time. Hope that helps. :)
I basicly take my time as I'm rinsing it out. I take a small section, and gently untangle it and it just seems to go back to normal with the running water and conditioner.
+Akie Fukuda I think you could still use this kit with blaxk hair, just make sure you follow the directions and see how long to leave it in order to get your desired color. I'll be uploading another hair video very soon, where I show how I eliminate the brassy-ness. :)
I guess if you're a robot that follows the crowd and doesn't do things that you yourself like, then now it's probably not. Have fun being original and looking the same as everyone else 🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖😉
yeah. it's so you don't end up with harsh lines and it blends well. when you backcomb the hair becomes a bit uneven and at different layers so when you put the product on then, you will get a natural looking slightly uneven ombré. and that's to make it look natural. if you want to go for the harsh line look this step is hardly necessary.
I followed your techniques and I have never looked back! It totally changed my hair game and I always get compliments, thank you so much for this :) Best tutorial for hair colouring out there
I'm so glad it worked for you as well! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and watch the videos! :)

Thank you so so so much. I’m a full-time Nursing student and quite frankly, I don’t have the money to spend at the salon. I tried this last night on my hair and it’s everything I wanted and more!!! I love it so much!

do you know about how many strips of foil you ended up using?! I have pretty thick hair and want to be prepared. LOL.
Hello there, I have very thick hair as well, so I believe I had to use around 35 foils. :)
I love that you have that shirt, so many memories I bet!
seriously I just didn't saw that tshirt, omg! I just realised
I completely loved you technique. I'm totally going to do it this way, coz the first time I messed it up even though I watched a lot of videos. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed!
LOVED IT, I think it came out so well! Your tips and tricks were so so helpful!
They just made new packaging and clearanced the old one :-) I saw the new ones today at walmart!
Yours turned out so pretty! Guys I tried to do this and I turned straight blonde... so if you don't have much experience dyeing your hair at home I recommend going to a salon if you're going lighter

+SKenneyGIrl Tan Thanks for watching! Yes, the back combing is a must to avoid a harsh line!
Before doing this ombre..... which color you had on your full hair? it looks amazing *-* 😍
Great video! The balayage ombre turned out so beautiful! But can anyone tell me why you have to back-comb your hair?
So you wont have any harsh lines.

Someone else asked the same question, How long was the product actually on your hair since you had to do all the back combing and cut more foil during the time?
this is what i’ve been looking for !
Great! I'm glad you like it!
That aluminum foil look is gorgeous mmmhmmmm
Haha...it's a new style! lol You should post more videos, you do a great job!
Your hair looks soo healthy. if you don't mind telling. what products do you use?
+Xay Xiong To be 100% honest, I use whatever is on sale! Lately, I've had a bunch of coupons for Suave, so thats what I've been using!
Girl you are really inspiring me to get it on my own 👀😍😍😍

Ok I'll admit it, I seriously had to LOL. All those sections of your long hair with foil on them kind of reminds me of Predator's dreadlock looking things in the Alien VS Predator movie. You hair turned out very pretty. Thanks for the tutorial.
this is perfect. i like it but can i just ask if this hair thing you applied was mix with bleaching stuff or just a hair dye alone?
The Frost and Glow Kit does contain bleach. I've since updated my Ombre routine, and now I use a separate bleach/developer. Then I add a toner/dye mix. Thanks for watching!
GlossandSparkle okay. tnx for this info and yea, I've enjoyed your vid 👍💟
I needed to see this! Thanks girl!
Glad it was helpful!
it looks amazing!

They put out a new box for the frost and glow kit
Great video !
thick hair problem :( you look amazing
You can still buy this color at Target and Walgreens. The Frost and Glow Honey
I love the result I will try this because I don't want to use bleach
This is bleach in the kit..
+Aly Smit I realised that after watching few more videos 😅
the ends of my hair tend to look quite brassy after ombre. do you do any toning afterwards? what is your original hair color? also, your hair looks so healthy despite the bleaching... do you use any deep conditioning etc?

you did a great job, I would have liked to have seen it a little more lighter. thanks for sharing
I love it definitely gona try it :)
I hope it turns out great!
Did you use the bleach that came in the box, or go straight to the product?

very nice ombre
+zigg3 Thank you.
As you get nearer toward the top of your hair do you need to go up higher with the dye?
good job! you're adorable :)
lol you look like an egyptian goddess with all that foil in your hair haha x
❤eyeshadow eyeliner eyes
what box color is she using?
Just one question
How on earth did she take the tangles out lol
Loved the end result anyways ❤❤
Slowly and carefully. I had this done at the salon and they pulled out so many of my hairs doing this process. I'll never get it done at a salon again!
amazing video dear
did you use toner ? what kind please

anastasia10017
Will this work with hair that’s never been bleached or dyed and Jet Black ?!
Typically, virgin hair takes to bleach and dye better than previously colored hair. However, the darker the natural hair is, the harder it is to achieve the color you want and avoid brassiness. It may take a few sessions over a period of time. Hope that helps. :)
how did u remove teasing I tried to do mine and applied lots of conditioner but ended up with painful scalp for days
I basicly take my time as I'm rinsing it out. I take a small section, and gently untangle it and it just seems to go back to normal with the running water and conditioner.
My natural hair color is black, so it was really helpful! Do you have any tips or recommend colour for black hair person?
+Akie Fukuda I think you could still use this kit with blaxk hair, just make sure you follow the directions and see how long to leave it in order to get your desired color. I'll be uploading another hair video very soon, where I show how I eliminate the brassy-ness. :)
how long did you leave it on there before you washed it?
I love ur accent
is there any other dyes similar to the one you get?
awesome i will defintly try dis
thank you very much!
What toner did you use?
Did you start whit natural haire color ?
is ombre hair still in style ?
I guess if you're a robot that follows the crowd and doesn't do things that you yourself like, then now it's probably not. Have fun being original and looking the same as everyone else 🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖😉
Why do u tease your hair at the top first? What does that do?
+Maly N Teasing it helps to prevent a harsh line and provides a smooth gradient for the Ombre' effect! :)
wow all the stores u list out doesn't have in my county
+Wada Ayaka You might want to try purchasing it online. :)
Do you put the bleach on the teased part?
Kay Cheyenne no
in the thumbnail the middle pic do u know what the colour dye is called?
It is the exact same products used in the video. Except that particular photo was taken in natural sunlight. Hope that helps!
its helps alot
I'll see if I can find you some. I'm a friend of Shannon's.
+ladiejl :)
hi I want to know what haircut u have, what it called. rply me please
+Sumera Azam No specific name...I guess just, long layers. :)
Not sure, but anybody know if this kit is pretty much bleach?
It's bleach and toner
Does anyone know why you need to backcomb it ?
yeah. it's so you don't end up with harsh lines and it blends well. when you backcomb the hair becomes a bit uneven and at different layers so when you put the product on then, you will get a natural looking slightly uneven ombré. and that's to make it look natural. if you want to go for the harsh line look this step is hardly necessary.
Mallika Singh my hair is a bit frizzy and often look like it was backcombed, do I need to do that as well? Or just skip the step?
Mallika Singh my hair is a bit frizzy and often look like it was backcombed, do I need to do that as well? Or just skip the step?
you look very pretty
+Kaitlyn Mullen Thank you...so do you!
Thank you 😊

Why do you tease the hair before putting the dye on it? whats the purpose?
JK someone already asked that Q and i just read it :D
