I will say, as someone who is very interested in getting the game, your tutorials are the simplest to understand AND the shortest videos as well! Job well done, I hope the expansion rules are coming too!
Very very solid production, at last someone who really knows what he is doing, and how to use his equipment properly 👌 One more small rules annotation: @4:43 Once you are hostile towards a faction, you also score one -additional- VP for each building or token you remove of that faction.
One correction- When the Vagabond is Hostile to a faction then Infamy scores the Vagabond 1 VP per enemy piece removed in battles started on the Vagabond’s turn. This means 1 point for warriors and 2 for tokens & buildings
Very good Vidéo! Like it a lot! Maybe some annotations could be good because of the new rules that affect vagabond playstyle (like the fact that damaged items stay the way they are when they are repaired (exhausted or unexhausted)).
Thank you for this comment haha I didn't notice this rule, played yesterday for the first time and the vagabond in my group was abusing this repair feature a little, to be fair it wasn't on purpose, it was more because we're still learning the game, but he was reusing tools every turn, became a little overpowered due to this.
A very helpful Video, thanks! ^^ But I have still questions: 1. First of all if an item gets damaged through battle for example you only can repair it with the hammer or beeing in the woods right? But what happens with items like the tea und bags? 2. And I didn't really understand when items get back on the board ^^'
If the vagabond has only 1 boot does that mean they cannot move into a hostile clearing (unless they slip)? Sounds like they simply wouldn't be able to move into a hostile clearing of they can't exhaust two boots, but I wanted to make sure.
Subscribed, very good video măt And I also have a question to ask When i have 8 item in sanchet, i will have to exhaust 1 bag and put it into the damage section?
It's definitely more complex than either the Marquise or the Eyrie, but Leder Games has it listed as the second-most complex in the core game, as Woodland Alliance comes in at the highest complexity according to them.
If the Vagabond uses the dominance card to form a coalition, is that card now under the control of the coalition? Or is it discarded into the middle? Can the player that has been coalitioned still play a dominance card? And can the Vagabond make a coalition with more than 1 player?
I’m still confused with the “Slip” action. Does it mean every turn I can move to another adjacent clearing or can I only move either into a forest or out of a forest.
Late reply, but hopefully helpful. With the Slip action you can either move from a clearing into a forest or to an adjacent clearing. It's the ONLY way to move into a forest. When you are in the forest at the beginning of daylight (that might be, if you used "An Evening's Rest" in your last turn) you can use Slip to move from the forest to a clearing.
Hey i recently started playing root with my friends and the scoring for quests for vagabond was confusing. Some of them think that if you cleared for example 3 fox clearing quests that would equals 1+ 2 + 3 points = 6 points gained while i was thinking it was 1+1+1 = 3 total points earned for finishing 3 fox clearing quests. Could anyone let me know which one is correct?
Hope you do the expansion. Definitely one of the best Root video series I've watched!
You have such great talent. Precise, cute and thorough videos. Do not stop!

Thanks for that! If you're looking for another who likes to use his camera, you should check out Quackalope!
Just tried to play this game this weekend and had some struggles. This is exactly what I needed. Will def watch again before we play next time.
If I remember correctly, when Vagabond fixes a item It comes back with the same side face up (If used, still used)
Hope the expansion comes soon. Quality vids

didn't understand, cold you explain it better ??
Finally I found a video that made me understand the Vagabond, thank you!
best quality i've seen on any board game video. Great job my Dude!

I always send this playlist to new players. Great job!
Great series with high production value!
Good video production. Good lightning.
Wonderfully made!

subseven This is correct
Great videos, make of the two other factions in the expansion River and cult lizards

these are great! Thanks for making theM :)
Thanks! Love watching your fake subtitle videos -- hilarious stuff, man.
Vagabond sounds like the most complex faction to play with

So if my items are damage from the previous turn, i am forced to stay in the forest to repair and refresh my damage items-forcing me to skip daylight?

Is it possible for an allied faction player attack on Vagabond? And if it's yes, how does it work?
7 months late but if you attack the vagabond (if allied) it moves you to hostile.
Is a coalition the only way to win as the Vagabond?
Joseph Gasiewski
Nope, the Vagabond can also win through the traditional victory point way.
Yo
Half of the explanations are not really more helpful than the game cards themselves. I was hoping for a more thorough explanation.
My apologies, Ser John Doe.
This was confusing
