Your reactions! on Sailor - the reason for loving wine so much - words can't come close to honest expressions! Yay! Your discussions teach good lessons too!
This is why we do what we do on camera to be honest - we're horrible actors - so what you see is real enjoyment (or disgust!) - thanks so much for noticing!
Really enjoy the relaxed approach and pure enjoyment you guys have on these vids. Just managed to find a bottle of Sailor Seeks Horse 2022 Pinot over here in the UK following this vid and a 2022 Tolpuddle Pinot whilst I was at it. Never had a Tassie Pinot so will be interesting to see how they compare against my favourite Two Paddocks.
Seeing you guys try Vin Jaune for the first time made for epic viewing! Tried your wines on the Thames in London at some posho wine tasting event held by Berkmann - really fun wines. Julia Harding MW was taking notes, and I was too terrified to look over her shoulder to read her impressions, but they will be published soonish. Keep up the good work guys!
This deserves more than just one like. Also there's no way that I can get that Aussie Pinot at price in Europe... Will have to stick to the EUR 15-20 Naoussas, Verdicchios, Sanges, Godellos, Carricantes, Mencias, etc. ;-P
Feels like this would be a bit more interesting if prices were displayed excluding tax. Like that Austrian Grüner Veltliner is a 10 euro (16 aud) bottle, but in Australia it's almost twice the price
It's not actually the tax that makes the difference to be honest - for the most part it's importers margins, wholesale margins and retailers margins - so it might make sense for some markets, but not others.
the last wine is not chardonnay since it's Vin Jaune. Only Vin Jaune is able to be bottled in those 620ml bottles and Jaune can only be made with 100% savagnin grapes.
You guys are notoriously anti Malbec. Australian expressions have really surprised me. Little giant is one that shocked me as very good. Would be interesting to see you guys explore this more. Where the pearls gone Henry?
We're honestly not - it's basically Henry's favorite grape variety...we just don't see many producers taking it seriously here - but it's a stunning variety when it's on song!
Small correction on your graphic, Vin Jaune is not Chardonnay, it's made with Savagnin. The source you linked is also wrong on the varietal. Really interesting wine, definitely not for everyone.
As soon as i saw the Sailor Seeks Horse i knew it was unfair to other wines, what black magic are they doing down there in tas?? their wines are utterly absurd for the price
David Attenborough voice- Here we have the local wine lover. Amidst him are his predators not hard to spot in red and black the not so elusive Melbourne wine hipster. As the ritual drags on the wine lover must laugh and navigate these sometimes hard to understand at times almost polygat conversations. As we draw near the wine lover has come tiresome of the hipster humour and wishes to return his domain. In a move to help him seem determined to finish the video to appease the others he decides to move the show along, asking them what he will know will result in more opportunity for the hipsters to blabber. Alas his plan works wrapping up the final conclusion. The wine lover can now resume his daily life. Singing songs and bringing praise to wine for those of humble ears
Sorry to burst your bubble but cheep wine in Germany is so bad I doubt it’ll be even allowed to be sold in Australia even if it was free! What we call a cheep wine in Australia would possibly be priced as mid range in Europe.

Oh thank you so much! Pleasure let us know how you go with them!!!
Just bought two bottles of the Pinot after watching this 😬. Can't wait to try.
Hope you like it! We're literally over the moon on it.
"bit of acid, but of fruit... fuck all else" 2:42 love that 😂
Truth lol

Haha thank you so much! Seriously awesome feedback haha!
Damn, what a line up.
Awesome job on picking the vin jaune, and what a great example it is! Yum!
Thanks so much! We had some serious fun on this one!
Fun watch, jealous of the line up.
Haha thanks so much!
Loved this 😍😍😍
Thank you!
What a great episode!
Thank you so much!
Great lineup and cool, different format for the tastings.
Thank you!
What an amazing line up of wines!
Thank you! We definitely enjoyed them!

Aw shucks! Thank you! Carricante at 15 Euro! Awesome!
What a line up!! 😮 god I want taste that Pinot Noir
It's HECTIC! Seriously - we followed this up with a bottle in NSW the week after - same same - awesome wine

@@wineforthepeople oh I thought the problem in Australia was insane tax on international wine
Yeah - but it taxes ALL wine like that, local or not. It's one universal tax.
Messwein means the wine that is used during catholic mass... (the gruener)
WOW - did we misinterpret that!
Awesome lineup!
Thanks so much! We all enjoyed it pretty well!
the last wine is not chardonnay since it's Vin Jaune. Only Vin Jaune is able to be bottled in those 620ml bottles and Jaune can only be made with 100% savagnin grapes.
100% Fact! Thanks for picking up on that!

Different drop absolutely spoilt you gents in this one lol What a lineup!
They did! We increased the budget a little and it's unlocked another whole level of awesomeness!
Small correction on your graphic, Vin Jaune is not Chardonnay, it's made with Savagnin. The source you linked is also wrong on the varietal. Really interesting wine, definitely not for everyone.
Haha we copied the website - we thought that was a bit odd too?!
Incredible lineup, the farr probably needs a couple years before it really kicks off
This is absolutely true - those wines can be other-worldly!
Crazy tasting guys! But Vin Jaune are Savagnin not Chardonnay :)
100% Facts!
The prices in the blind tasting graphics dont match the reveal prices. vin jaune goes from 120 to 190 for example but there are a few mistakes
Ah yes - the joys of editing! Thanks for picking that up!
@@wineforthepeople Rip hahaha
LOL
Vin Jaune is Savagnin. Looks amazingggg. Jealous
Yep, looks like Different Drop got it wrong on their website as well...
@@mikaelplaysguitar enjoy fellas

Woops!
Cheers!
I will pay for you to ship me a bottle of magic 38 to cali! lol I need to try it
LOL! It's pretty elite stuff TBH!
Huon Valley takes the win!
Deservedly too - it's a BONKERS wine!
no more than 50 dll for a super toscan wine
$50?! Seriously?!
As soon as i saw the Sailor Seeks Horse i knew it was unfair to other wines, what black magic are they doing down there in tas?? their wines are utterly absurd for the price
It's SUCH a good wine - and even at the price point, an amazing deal.

@@soldrozd877 Two out of three got a haircut - would that be classed as deforestation or clever land management?
@@safmyk1 probably a haircut
@@soldrozd877 oh come on - what a back handed thing to say. You’re not the only funny thing on here dude … yikes loosen up 🙄
LOL this is legitimately awesome!
Some ABSOLUTE aussie blokes talking wine? What's happening here? This feels so weird.
One of my favorite wine channels lol
Feels so right?!
LOL cheers!
16$ is cheap? That’s around 10€!
Edit: The average price people in germany pay for wine is around 3€.
€3 that can't be right...surely tax, transport, production costs is nearly that 😂
3 euros you get shit wine. 10 euros you can actually get real wine
Nah 5 € is the minimum I would pay.

Interesting how there’s no outside world beyond Germany to this chap
