Wonderful!! Good to see (and hear) the 55's. A long time since I saw these and many other types during the ADL Belgian Depot Tours. Great times. Excellent video footage!
Nice footage of the afterdays of class 55, and all familiar spots where I spent so may hours filming. I think the period you covered in this video I already had stopped filming for the most on this line, got no footage of the renewed bridge in operation, except filmed from a train running over it, and I don't have so many blue 55's (those were ETH fitted, the other 55's had steam boilers or no train heat, those last had a dot behind the number) as these were employed mostly on the Ardennes route until 2003. Except for the class 66 every other loco class in this video is extinct (DB br215, br241, br140 and NMBS 55), some of the br140 seemed to have been withdrawn still in their 1970's ocean blue and cream colors.
Thanks for your interest. The Class 55s are upgraded relatives of Bo Bo Class 62s. The Luxembourg versions of the Class 55 fall under the category of Class 1800. Nonetheless, Class 55s are powered by General Motors V16 two-stroke diesel engines with electric transmission on all six axles. Unfortunately, due to completed electrification over Montzen Viaduct and other sections of the main freight line from Germany to Belgium, deployment of Class 55s has become thin on a major scale - PITY !

💯💯💯
Merci beaucoup
Looking at the gantries on the Moreset Viaduct I believe the voltage change from 15kv ac to 3kv dc happens there?
Some very nice sounds. Are they EMD 567 engines in those Belgian locos?
Ces machines ne font pas de bruit, elles chantent!😊
C'est vrais. Merci beaucoup pot regarder.
