What I love about these sketches is, the star can play it almost exactly how they want. Buscemi was affably weird, Norton was somewhat camp, Keaton was downright psychotic, Hader is almost aggressive and Wiig was like a slightly nervous local public access TV-host. It is a very adaptable format, which is probably why they did it several times.
Two kids were looking for a four leaf clover in a field together. They found the same clover and got in a fight over who found it first. It snowballed and turned into a war between their families, ending in many deaths.
Love this, it reminds me of the old Steve Martin segments on SNL, sitting on a chair and talking right to the camera... some of my favorite moments. Bill Hader is awesome!
You actually found that funny? Jesus Christ yanks really do have an awful sence of "humour". Go see an actual Irish comedian and You will see what comedy is actually about.
God I miss that show so much. "I laugh at you before you can laugh at me my friend because you've been handling my ass pennies. You ALL have handled my ass pennies!!" 😂😂
My dogs feed has more meat in it than corned beef does. Americans think we actually eat this shit in Ireland??? lol. I've yet to see a pub or a restaurant ever have corned beef on the menu. We are more of a Bacon and fillet steak country I'm afraid
I personally think Bill Hader is the best cast member the show has ever seen. He fits in anywhere and actively makes that part funnier. He can play a really great straight man or funny man. Background, side or lead character in a sketch, he always hit his mark perfectly. He also kills in digital shorts and in weekend update segments. The only members that might match him in comedy prowess would probably be Will Ferrel, maybe Phil Hartman, Gilda Radner or Kristen Wiig
This takes amazing comedic timing. Bill Hader is brilliant with that... and Beck Bennett too.. the way he chimed in at just the right time ... oh my god friggin hillarious. I can't.
@@BlackCat-vg5yx the cutest. but its hair is likely quite oily. so petting it is okay but otherwise you would get residue on most of you haha! such cute animals.
If you've watched the other skits like this one, you'd see that the main character is supposed to be weirdly indifferent about everything. So I think Hader did a great job. I know some people won't find it parricularly funny but I personally thought it was funny just because of its randomness.
Would have been funny if he was just supposed to be Bill Hader. Like the Michael Keaton one. Although they had Steve Buscemi and Ed Norton on doing similar weird holiday themed skits like this and they weren't playing themselves. I find it being a weird satirical look into the actual actors life to be the funnier premise.
0:22 is definitely going to keep me awake tonight and live rent free in my mind for the rest of my life.. Also, I’ll know for a fact that future me will thank me for the timestamp
I don’t think so. Hader’s too good at impersonations to do so badly. I think it was just weird random goofiness to make people go, “What the hee-ho-ha?”
no it wasn't gold. they just needed your attention to make you see tv advertising, toxic commercials and genocidal warcrimy colorfull govt propaganda, drain your soul and money to finance your own destruction. at least they should get real periodically or be funny now and then. You know what we'll spit you 3 musical bits oh and schedule some blacks to pretend multiculturality
I love these creepy weird holiday skits. They are gold.
Agreed,
This isn't gold. It's a jar of mustard, Steven.
ripdajacker23 taste like gold
Gold, I tell ya!
Keaton was creepier, which oddly made it better. This is still gold, agreed.
I love the sketches that are just off-kilter enough to make you wonder why you're laughing.
The blarney stone got me
Fake it till you make it!
that's right.
I miss Bill Hader on SNL so much
why doesn't he get more interesting roles in movies???
He has such a good "negative charisma" to play Jokers, Lectors, hasnt' he?
He needs to play Satan so badly.
Him and kristen Wiig... haven't been able to watch it since they left
Jenya March haha you know what’s funny Kristen actually played Satan in this movie called Mother!
He was super💕💕💋💛😻cute

Jacqi Ball so do I!

this is legit just bill hader insulting irish culture for 5 minutes straight and I‘m here for it
potato must die How bad the Guinness looks is almost the worst part of it.
Is that what happened though?
potato must die sad Irish noises
Maybe that's why it got cut.
imagine if they were insulting black culture
I love how the way he says “that’s right” sounds more like he’s gloating instead of just reminiscing
I love Bill Hader so much
Do you know him? I don't know him so I don't know if I "love him." I can say I don't think he's funny though.
duffman102 Okay.
Sara And you should. He's just a natural talent, like Fred Armisen

Lorne Michaels worked on that show and Mark McKinney was a cast member on both KITH and SNL.

It's in Foley's cadence (not his voice but his rhythm and style).
It's Chevy Chase.

Dra O it is utter shite. You're right... unless all these comments about it being funny are sarcasm, which l doubt.
actually the one Michael Keaton did on Eastern is way better and darker
Dra O, I don’t think you get the references. It’s ok though! Some types of comedy just aren’t for everyone.
For sure keatons easter skit is an all time favorite

I thought it aged well, because it's still true.

Silence of the Lambs
Why did he say that? Like what is the joke
I want to see Bill Hader play Jame Gumb now just to hear his interpretation of "Was she a great big fat person?".
Watch the movie Silence of the Lambs and you'll understand. Hader's imitation is spot on. Oh and Stewie Griffin from Family Guy does the same thing.

Michael Keaton, Edward Norton and Bill Hader...the ultimate holiday trilogy.
Ryan Spengler Kristen Wiig did one as well so it’s not a trilogy anymore!
Steve Buscemi too
“I only bring it out once a year... then leave it out for the other 364.” Just like my Christmas tree.

Dra O. I eel the same way lol. This really wasnt funny or talent at all. He sat in a chair and read his lines from the prompter...

This sketch is mental
For some reason, I imagine Bill truly enjoyed performing this sketch.
Bill Hader is an amazing actor. Any sketch he's in is going to be weird, slightly off-putting and hilarious
I feel bad for the sheep. His sketch got cut and he didn't get any airtime. :(
The zoo is going to be mad at SNL for that.
He does the voice so perfectly: 3:21
3:17 - 3:30 : I’ve never seen Silence of The Lambs, yet I always instinctively laugh at this
All this time that was supposedly Liam Neeson?
Xe M
I doubt it. If Hader wanted to impersonate Liam, he'd get it spot on. Idk why it says that.
At the end is says it's supposed to be Liam. That's probably why they cut it, he didn't act or sound anything like him.
Would have been funny if he was just supposed to be Bill Hader. Like the Michael Keaton one.

Sometimes SNL doesn't think their sketches through, they are really hit or miss

I love that the only thing that makes it a Liam Neeson impression is him occasionally saying "that's right"
Bill: whats going on over there Steven ?
Steven: I'm making shepherds pie . Get in the crust you. mnhhmhh
Bill : ho oh Steven
The flu wink was unappreciated, gold throughout
This is so funny oh my god i'm pissed it was cut for time, this is serious gold, the mustard kind too

Why was this cut for time??? It is PURE gold, each thing is hilarious.
Why does the description say Liam Neeson?
Great question
Hader is supposed to be Liam Neeson, I guess. At the end, it says "from Liam Neeson."
There's nothing Liam Neeson about it. 😂
I think it's because liam neeson is Irish
Stephen McConnell same
I miss these. I would absolutely love to see more. "You won me!" is one of my favourite random sketch lines.

It’s not cut, if it makes you smile
Did he just call me a stupid Mick?! Golly.
The cut sketches are always the funniest!
