The intro was masterful. Whoever did the music was a genius and the animation was spot on. It would be a dream come true to work with those guys on the animation and graphics department.

This was a missed out oppertunity, think how funny it would have been if it was all the different talkshow hosts posing as the different houses.
Think about it, after the fall of house Leno Jimmy Falister has taken the throne. Howevere, from the north house Kimmel...ark (it could work, they could make it a joke) comes down to depose house Fallister.
However, there is word of a light haired woman claiming the throne is whispered. And so ellen of house degeners enters the fray. But in the end an ancient show host returns with her white bookclub and so Oprah returns and sits the throne once more. Just saying...

yeah it was good, because it was the only part it felt like real acting and not a comedy. this guy got acting talent.

"Your Grace" is used when you speak to a King or Regnant. "My Lord" is used when speaking to a lord. Research is important.

FistKitso 'Your Grace' is used for a King or Queen (consort, dowager, and regnant). There is no style for a regent - a Lord Regent is styled 'My Lord', as he is a Lord; a Queen Regent is styled 'Your Grace', as she is a queen.
(In the real world, grace is also used for Dukes and Archbishops, while 'majesty' replaced 'grace' for English kings/queens in Henry VIII's reign)
But a fair point, none the less, as there was a scene in S1 when Ned was incorrectly addressed Your Grace by a riverland peasant, to be sternly rebuked Grand Maester Pycelle...

FistKitso 'Lord', is used only as a courtesy due to his position on the council, which traditionally made up high lords.
He is a commoner though, and no true lord, having no lands or fiefs that are associated with the lordly form of address. Westeros doesn't seem to have titles that are awarded without lands (as most post-feudal European kingdoms did/do), so it's pretty much as insubstantial as being addressed monsieur or madame by a waiter -mon sieur (my lord) and ma dame (my lady).

People who complain about Jimmy Fallon need to understand that the reason you don't like his skits is because you like a different type of humor. I thought there were a few parts in this that were hilarious. But what some people find funny, sometimes others don't. That's nothing new.
I hope the whole world would understand that but meh...

On one hand, the writing isn't all that great. The jokes aren't particularly funny, nor the story interesting.
But by all the old gods and the new, (yes I just said that) look at the design! The costumes? Amazing. The intro? Amazing. The sets? Absolutely amazing. The size and scope really did make it seem like Westeros. Amazing.

ProducShuns at the end of the day its about avoiding a law suit as well. Even if it is legally within the copyright exception, they are still opening themselves to a law suit which costs an expensive lawyer and theyd just rather avoid that I guess.
I also don't think Time Warner would play ball with NBCuniversal, just for a parody video.

I'm Canadian, and I grew up saying 'shoot' after.
Otherwise people always got confused whether you were going on 'scissors' or after.
Probably just varies from town to town.

Stark Clark To do Rock, Paper, Scissors in total silence where I was from required that kind of connection that only best friends could have. You'd have to be in sync, know whether you were shooting on or following 'scissors' intuitively, know if it was sudden death or two out of three, and respect the results without arguments over cheating or rematches. If you said it out loud nobody could dispute whether you threw at the right time so that was far more common. I have only had a couple of friends in my lifetime who I can have a silent RPS battle with- and to this day I consider them my closest friends.

I was so happy to get a call to make the shoulder armor (pauldrons) and hip armor (tassets) for Lord Firecrotch's guards. The designer couldn't find a rental in the style he wanted, so he sent me a screenshot from GOT to copy. It took 5 days to make the two sets. He knew me from work I'd done for SNL and 30 ROCK. I love this sketch!

Matthew Graff i suggest you read the books. Never in the books is Eddard Stark refered to as King of Winterfell or King in the North. Until Robb Stark declared war on the Lannisters and Ned was beheaded the title in the North is called Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North, as it has been for 300 hundred years since Aegon, the first of his name, conquered Westeros and established the Realm. This was until Robb Stark declared the North (and the King of the Trident as he is later known) an independant Kingdom, thus calling himself the King in the North (and the King of Winter)
