But covox is simple dac, not an actual sound card in any term. It's your CPU and tracker 🙂

@@fernandobernardo6324 Covox and Disney "sound" card is the same HW. In both cases it is not a sound card but an extremely simple digital-to-analog converter based on a few resistors. You can buy them for a few cents.
I even made myself a "covox" to the 8 bit ZX Spectrum. It's a day's work.
The problem is that neither Covox nor Disney produces that sound. The main computational logic is your CPU. The CPU produces the sound, mixes it, and it is therefore a very CPU intensive thing based on the quality of the sampling.
The Amiga has 4x 8 bit DACs + associated special chips to handle them, so it doesn't overload the CPU. "Paula" system.
