There is no such thing as luck with the algorithm just statistics...basically everyone who was presented this video when it was first uploaded watched it all the way through and or seemed to enjoy it so the algorithm deemed it an entertaining video (I dont know if you care but im just in the mood to talk about things I love)
@@kaitlyn-gracesmith7923 the videos were public for a good amount of time and RUclips decided to recommend them after a few months. I've seen a few good quality videos that never really became so popular. Yeah it was selected because people liked to watch the entire video and probably shared it with others, so RUclips decided to recommend it themselves, but it was relatively lucky that the process even started. Also do you mean you love RUclips or the algorithm lol?
@@beetmacol2126 @GracefullKait you're both right. There is luck because it depends on the audience youtube decides to recommend the videos to but it's not merely random as statistics is used (although if it's fancy statistics you can call it data science or ML). Videos require enough watch time to get statistically significant data on who it should recommend to and the whole channel needs enough videos and views for it to bother suggesting it. Whenever it decides to recommend a video, there are countless others it could have chosen to recommend, some of which have already proven success. So it's a dynamic system with feedback loops and chaotic potential, deterministic but not necessarily precisely macro-predictable.
This content is literally amazing, I’m feeling inspired to get back onto my own projects now. Your thorough explanations as to how you went about coding something makes so much damn sense and I just can’t get enough of it lmao
I don’t even know how I got recommended your videos but I’m sure glad I did, already binged the videos you have and hyped to see you uploaded this morning! Cant wait to see what else you got in store my guy! Such amazing quality for a smaller channel.
The feeling when I've seen your channel a few days ago, subscribed today and now you uploaded a new video after a few months. What a timing! Anyway, thanks for your videos!

Glad you got blessed by the algorithm gods, hopefully one day mine will lol. Love the concept, I like how simple it is and think it will be really cool that you are implementing it as a web game. Hope the best for you!
Good shit man honestly, just recently started venturing myself into programming (I'm a biology student with no prior knowledge) going with some of the stuff that I found to be easier, Web Dev at the moment, but I'd like to go further into other stuff as well (like Java and whatnot)
I wanna build a web based city builder game ( like Travian, Ikariam) but I'm not very good in front web development. But you really insipring me to start developing. Thank you and please continue with the high quality videos.
No joke i just saw all your videos and i thought your channel was dead bc you didn't posted for like ages and the fact you just pop up like that is just incredible
If you want some good C game programming videos: Ryan Ries has about 50 1 hour videos of making his own game, and he also teaches quite a bit about C. Samuli has the best tutorials I've seen on the most basic stuff. Not very popular, but definitely worth watching. He's also active unlike a certain JDH
Hi, I really enjoyed your content, bless the algorithm. Would you consider putting up a list of your ressources / classes and other material that helped you obtain this level of mastery in writing up render/game engine ? Maybe, if you feel like it, a series of tutorial, or some documentation idk, whatever really. In any wase iIm dying of curiosity and I would love learn from someone that I already love to follow the developpement of ! I'm sure I'm not the only one ;) Thanks for making this content ! Hope to see more of you !
great videos, found your minecraft series a while back. i was just wondering what your background is in software and how you know so much about game dev (particularly in C)
ever heard of web assembly? you can write anything in any language, compile it to WASM, and it will run in any modern browser! (Fireship also made a great 100sec vid on it if you wanna learn more)

Hey jdh, just found your channel and it's absolutely amazing. I've noticed there are no courses about game engines almost anywhere. Would be great if you made a series about building a game engine in C/C++ without actually focusing on the languages for 80% of the time like other courses do.
oh man, you know the ways of c, java and typescript. Not to mention that your code is so well structured and designed. You write beautiful code. How did you learn this power?
I was tottally expecting this one to be C as well, but compiled to webassembly. Maybe that's what you do in the future to make (some) things make (more) sense for web programming
It’s only natural that now someone will rip off your game
It's the circle of life

someone ripping off your game is a sign that you’ve made it
Damn i just found out your channel and literally was watching your Minecraft videos. And now you just uploaded. Great.
haha same here

Same! This guy's stuff is great

and he actually knows programming

I swear you're by far my new favorite dev youtuber.
Wow you've really grown as a youtuber. You have much more confidence in this video than the first one.
