    Always wonderful to see your beautiful smile, especially when talking about budget. You are so down to earth & kindly encouraging. I really need to rein myself in a little (or a lot) in the budget area. Hope all goes well in the medical area & Everson gets a clean bill of health. God bless you both!

    I hope all goes according to the plan so far. Enjoy the autumn colours and I hope, you'll get into CERN. Have a lovely month and thank you for the budget insight. That's always interesting information. - Und natürlich viel Glück!

    Hi Maggi. A very interesting video and I, for one, would enjoy hearing more about your budget plan with YNAB. I don’t currently use YNAB, but am considering it. I wish Everson the best for his checkup and happy travels to you both. You are both genuine and charming, things often rare on RUclips today. Cheers,

    The shoe is beautiful! It does not look "homemade" so your grandmother is really talented and wonderful that she is teaching you her skills. Love how you share so much to help others about the budget and travel ideas, thank you! Wishing positive thoughts for your hospital visit, hope all goes smoothly.

    Good luck!! Those shoes you made are very interesting. I had no idea one could make shoes like that. Is this a maybe video idea for future? And very interesting with the budget... before I married, I too had no debt (now live on farm and hard to run a farm without some debt, but it is well managed and more investment in equipment.) ... so this was interesting to see. I like the video once a week and I am wishing you both luck for the scans and for traveling! 🍀🍀

      Thank you. :) The shoes are just layers and layers of fabric stitched together, and there is a dough out of flour and water in between every layer. Sounds strange, but actually works. If I ever make another pair, I will try to document it. I actually have a few „orders“ of family members piling up who are excited that someone took over from my grandmother. 😂

      @@MaggiFuchs A new career as shoemaker!! How interesting that is... fascinating. People used what they had. The sole of the shoe, is it plastic?? No need to answer, I can wait for the video 😂 Even if it is a while. (I have a desire to sew "mukluks" like the natives of Alaska used. I have an old pattern and a newer pattern from a book... basically felt a sole, knit a giant felted sock and then make a leather foot sewn to a canvas upper. I get cold feet and these are warm but also very lightweight. A friend bought some for $600 and I believe I can make them for a lot less. And weirdly, I JUST found a place I can buy good leather from! So that is very nice. ...So, maybe next year I too will be a shoemaker 😂😂🤞🏼) Happy travels to you both 💕💕

    First came across you when I found you were using Craft. I used it for a long time but have now gone back to Apple Notes. Now see that you are also a fellow YNAB budget nerd. Been using it since 2020 and it's the best financial decision we have made.
    Been living on our canal narrowboat for 9 years, and in another 5 months time we will retire early and become continuous cruisers. Wouldn't have happened so soon without YNAB.
    The shoe looks good, hope you are making a second one :)

      @MaggiFuchs  9 месяцев назад

      Oh wow, that sounds so exciting! Well done. I can see how YNAB helped with this - we are also extremely happy with it and I guess our life would be a lot different without it. And retiring early is the dream. :)
      PS: Of course I made a pair of houseshoes and was wearing them… only showed the prettier one in the camera 😂

    I was in Switzerland last month. CERN is a good tour despite the stand-in-line policy, and hopefully they have their new visitor center open when you visit. The UN tour in Geneva was so-so but it's difficult to get into last-minute and costs 16 CHF a person. I felt the Olympic Museum in Lausanne was better even if admission is 20 CHF. Eating in Switzerland is just insanely expensive even when grocery shopping though....
    If you're looking for a hike opportunity in Switzerland I did a day trip to Gruyères. I went on the cheese tour (7 CHF and worth it, get there early) and then did the "Cheese Dairy Hike" to Moleson (took the bus back). I did the "red" hike option which wasn't easy to follow, but it was still a good two-hour hike.

    • @MaggiFuchs
      @MaggiFuchs  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the tips! The cheese tour & hike sounds fun, I will definitely look into that. I was in Gruyere area once when we were passing by, but we just visited the HR Giger museum. I am so nervous about that admission in CERN, I really hope we don‘t stand in line the whole day and then they tell us we can‘t get in. But I will bring my iPad to read… 😂 Did you get there in the morning or later in the day?

      @@MaggiFuchs Go early and not on the weekend or holiday. I got there around 9.45, missed the 11.00 tour by one person. Head directly to the reception for tickets once you arrive. Once you get signed up you will have 45-ish minutes to walk around and see the free stuff, which is likely more than enough time.

    Zucker war mein schlimmstes Laster. Sowohl mein Arzt als auch mein Zahnarzt haben mir geraten, die Menge an Zucker, die ich zu mir nehme, deutlich zu reduzieren. Mein Zahn ist abgestorben und ich musste ihn ersetzen lassen. 😧 Das hat meine gesamte Einstellung gegenüber Zucker verändert. Ich habe aufgehört, Süßigkeiten, Kuchen und süße Getränke zu essen. Wenn ich aufhören kann, kannst du das auch! Ich wünsche Ihnen und Everson einen schönen Oktober!

It‘s already in my list for upcoming videos, but I am still trying to think of a way to turn it into an interesting video (I always think my setup is so boring… 😂). All the best to you! :)

      I would totally love a weekly video from you as your content always seems so relatable and relevant to me and it’s presented in an easy to watch way but wouldn’t want you to feel pressured to get something out for the sake of doing it weekly. I’d imagine for a lot of RUclipsrs that that frequency would be hard to maintain. Always love your work!😊

    Hi Maggi, the budgeting sounds very interesting. At the end of the month, when you don't spend all in one category do you add it to next month? I wish you and your husband all the best. One video a week sounds lovely. I am always interested.

    • @MaggiFuchs
      @MaggiFuchs  9 месяцев назад

      Thank you! :) It depends on the category. If there is some money left over in my living expenses (groceries etc), I put them back into the savings because I want to spend the same amount every month. The other categories like my emergency fund etc. roll over into the next month and accumulate, so it‘s more like saving up for future expenses in that category.
