This video features Fitness Experts performing Tabata Intervals along with tabata music by Tabata Songs Interval Workout Music. TabataSongs creates music that matches the exact timing of the Tabata Interval.
What is Tabata? 20 Seconds of sprint/work, 10 second rest, for 4 straight minutes. Tabata music lets you focus on your workout, rather than think about having to look at your watch or a timer.
Using the Tabata Protocol, any bodyweight exercise can be used: Squat, burpee, air squat, push ups, sprints, etc can all be used. Equipment may also be used. In this video, Spartacus Workout Expert Funk Roberts demonstrates the tabata kettle bell swing. Anything from a stationary bicycle, treadmill, trx band, dumbelll, medicine ball, to a sledge hammer and tire.
Tabata originated in 1996 in Japan when fitness researcher Dr Izumi Tabata set up a HIIT (high intensity interval training) experiment, using this very method. Dr Tabata found the tabata protocol to draw heavily from both the aerobic and anaerobic systems, unlike most conventional workouts.
The Tabata Interval has gained a lot of recognition through the Crossfit community, running community, and health clubs across the globe.
The Tabata Interval Method has proven to maximize VO2 max, while also building endurance, burning fat, and retaining muscle. Though the Tabata was not designed as a fat loss or weight loss program, it has gained a lot of recent attention in response to tabatas ability to speed up the metabolism and burn fat.
What is Crossfit? A workout program designed by Greg Glassman, which follows daily WOD (workout of the day) posts on the company's official site. Crossfit often uses tabata in their w.o.d.

Definitely for fat-loss.... but a heck of a lot better for muscle retention (if you already have the muscle and don't want to lose it during cardio!) than long steady state workouts. Glad you like the tunes, thanks a lot hellahurts!

Super!!! I have a "sitting job" and owing to Tabata I keep in shape my legs.
This is the only song I will do tabata to. I Alternate by using jumping lunges, jump squats, pushups, burpees, sprints, table kicks, skaters, and mountain climbers. I am screaming for air by the end of that 4 minutes! Lol but I love it!

hansi... Its totally normal to have to build up to this. Try alternating between 2 exercises. Do the pushups for every other 20 second interval, and do fast jumping jacks for the others.
If at any point you feel like you can't do more pushups, try holding the pushup position until the end of the interval. Let us know how that goes!

Yes, Tabata is very hard. It was originally developed for professional athletes, and only 2% of the population are able to do it.

Although I don't like PE that much, this song isn't really that bad. I did this at school & it was just horrible but the song was okay. Thinking of remixing it.

Nice Intervall Training, But most of this exercises are NO REAL TABATA Exercises
This would be for fat loss and cutting...not building muscle mass...even thou I disagree with this style of working out..good beat and timer but bad structure...circuit training by far the best way, not repeating same exercise for 4 mins

I'm not sure myself. I weight train 3 times a week. Was just looking for something that's not gonna take up more precious time. But if it's working for you that's cool. The proof is in the pudding.

It's a song for a kind of training called Tabata protocol, which prescribes 20 seconds of intense training followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated 8 times, for a 4 minutes routine. You can pick any exercise but must be intense for you (must be challenging). Some articles show that this 4' protocol is as effective as a 30' cycling (or almost, or better, i'm not sure). And with a song like this, people don't have to look at the watch for check the intervals, they can focus on the exercise they're doing. Something like that.
