Thanks for a very comprehensive assessment Arran, We applied on the 24th Feb through phase '1.5' and the only acknowledgement we received was a notification from the e-medical system that more information had been requested. We contacted our panel physician who updated and resubmitted the case, but heard nothing since. Its great to hear that people are getting visas through fairly quickly, and for your reassurance that patience is the best way forward! Andy
Thank you Arran for keeping us updated. I was so excited to find out I can come May 1 !! Already got my NZEta and tickets. Thanks for all the updates and clarifications with all the changes .
Thanks for sharing. Just thinking instead of allocating phase 2 applications according to visa expiry date, shouldn't it be according to the duration the applicant remains in NZ (length of stay) to be more fair? Some have been here for 5-10years++, while some just been here before lockdown. Just my personal opinion. Wish everyone get approval without hassle 🤗
Thank you for the update, Sir. Would you able to discuss the coming new accredited employer work visa, especially on the job check process and potential job exemption?
Thanks so much Sir, for this great piece of information. Please clarify whether we can provide the required letter clarifying the point S6 15.5 b ourselves or is there a format available on the website. Forever Grateful 🙏🏻
Hi Arran, thank you for this video. I visited my home country in Dec 16 and came back in Jan 17 and I think i made a silly mistake 🙄where Immigration is asking if i ever travelled international, to which I said No because i thought they asked about travelling elsewhere apart from home country and know I’m just stressing out on what to do next. Shall i ring immigration or wait if they will require any explanation? Thank you once again 🙏
Also interested in this, I’ve been watching the backlog of SMC applications closely and there seems to have been almost no movement in applications submitted prior to Oct 2019 but plenty of the more recent applications being allocated.. Overall the pile has dropped from 12,766 in mid Jan to 3,090 yesterday (so 75% down). Yet for those submitted prior to Oct 2019 there were 693 in Jan and 666 yesterday (only 4% down). Perhaps INZ are clearing more recent application by shifting many to 2021RV? It seems bizarre that the older applications don’t appear to be moving..
Hi Arran Thank you so much for this video, and hope you'll reply to my question below which makes me so worried atm Q : As you mentioned at 7.06 in this video, about the Question that they've asked 'have you ever traveled internationally' is really confusing, I thought they're asking whether I have travelled any other country except my born country. Therefore I selected the answer No But I have travelled to my home country twice, in 2018 for a month and for a one week in 2020. So do you think that I should need to mention this by attaching a letter once INZ allowed us to upload documents? Highly appreciated you're thoughts Arran Thanks heaps 🙂
Hi Asanka, At the end of the month INZ will be asking people about any issues etc in their application and, with how badly it is worded, this should be one of the areas covered. So let them know when they give you the opportunity to provide information or documentation. You could also call them and ask the call centre to put a note on your file that you need to correct that as it wasn't clear. Arran
Thanks for sharing, I have a question though, my husband already submitted an application for the rv21 phase 2 and his work visa will expire in 2025. This somehow made us think that our application will take some time to be processed. He is asking me to apply for a visitor visa while waiting for the RV21 approval. Is it possible to apply for visitor visas offshore while my partner has already submitted for the 2021 residence visa?
hi arran how are you? thank you for this video and hope you'll please reply to my question below. If i did a mistake on the application like the "Country or territory issued " of my passport cause i was just confused, 1 year ago I renew my passport at wellington and on 1 march 2022 after i submit the application RV21. I realized that i should put my country of origin instead New Zealand cause wellington is not a country. i was wrong on 1 question. should i be worried? do you think should i call immigration and inform my mistake? or just wait for them to contact me and tell them that i make mistake regards and hoping for your response thank you so much
Hi Arran Wanted to know if a person has a valid work visa expiring end of this month (April 2022), will they be allowed to return despite the visa expiring soon ? Also is there any possible update on extension of visa of work visa holders so they can return and get extension for the time they were stuck abroad ?
Not a huge concern but I still wonder why tons have received their application receipt email right away while many still are waiting for it for more or less a month now.
Some of those emails appear to have gotten lost. We had most of them arrive, but some didn't. It's unlikely they will come through later as it was something that is triggered straight away. So most likely is won't come. However, you can see the application in the system so you can know that INZ is aware of it.
@@ImmigrationNZLaw and that is regardless of “ status “being shown empty? instead of submitted?. Because when I go under MY VISA -> SUBMITTED it shows application number but status is just plain empty while some of my peers have theirs submitted written under it
Hi As per A16.1 point b, priority to application will be given to visa holders with latest expiry date despite of being in any category (1-5)? E.g. if my visa is expiring on let’s say 1.4.22 than I will get first priority even I am falling in category 5 as per A16.1 point B? Or priority is sectioned in categories as per A16.1 point b? E.g. if I fall in cat 2 let’s say LTSS visa and my visa expiry is 2024 then my app will be given priority over person falling in cat 5, who has visa expiry earlier than me let’s say in 2022 ? Pls clarify this
Hi Sir, I didn’t receive any email for documents upload, I can see upload documents option on my real me and i upload my documents , still not received any confirmation email Is it normal? Thank you

Hi. So if your visa is extended then the expiry date is the new date, the extended date, not the original date.
