MR removed videos are kinda iconic to kpop. BUT... the purpose of them have lost its way. there's so many prerecorded tracks these days.
Yep, its so funny fans screaming OMG VOCALS, LIVE VOCALS, ATE etc... on pre recorded vocala😂😂 the pre rec ones are definitely stable even after mr removed😂
Tbh Aespa are probably one of the groups that lip syncs the most in 4th gen.
@@Verowinday777well, there's a difference between lipsyncing to hide bad vocals and lipsyncing because the company forces you to. SM makes a lot of their artists lip sync, whether they want to or not, to preserve their vocals

Also, people using MR Removed videos to prove their group sings live on Music Shows is always so funny… like we KNOW Aespa didn’t sing over half of those Armageddon/Supernova stages live please be fr 😭 they can and WILL sing it live just fine, but those were almost all prerecorded.
To be honest, I don't expect any Idol to sing live on Music Shows. I mean, come on, they're recording those crap Award shows at 5-7AM.

MR removed videos have always annoyed me. They feel like they should be used to tell if a performance is pre-recorded, not to show how "stable" the vocals are. I understand why they became popular but I feel like the purpose was lost along the way. Idk if I make any sense rn but I tried 😅

@@horizonkyun7203and I’m glad she did, people forget idols in promo circles do multiple things from music shows to several varieties… not even Broadway actors go singing from 4am to 23pm after going to different locations and eating quick stuff on the go. Idols aren’t singers, their job description simply doesn’t accommodate live singing unless is very specific situations like radio appearances or ballads.

i like mr removed, but with ex. aespa, it annoys me that some of these channels make 8374839 videos about just another prerecorded music show, instead of focusing on their recent festival performances, where they sang live (it just had more or less backtrack depending on the song). i think we're at a point, when it's just simply useless, unless the group ACTUALLY did sing live
but also ngl, some parts can just get removed along with the backtrack, especially if it's loud, so that's another thing that makes them not so good for whole vocal analysis. it's just nice to hear live vocals in the world where even some performances with no choreography have backtrack or go through post production
It's just to generate views. For shorts, they specifically choose amazing MR removed shorts or those where the artists are struggling so many people will comment and like.

Haewon voice cracks are a treasure. Especially her and everyone else's reaction. Just proves it's live and she's human.
Confidence is when you can laugh and shake it off. Not a fan of MR removed tracks. They always sound metallic detract from the real vocals.

My ace up my sleeve for people who use MR Removed as a metric to justify that their favorite group is singing live, is to automatically send MR Removed from Girls on Top. It's a perfect MR, but it's also an MR from a group that is known for never having sung live. So they must choose, either defend that Girls on Top actually sang live (which is immediately embarrassing), or admit that MR Removed doesn't prove anything.
The saddest part is that so many kids actually believe they removed the MR when they only removed half of their voice and the background noise. Only the original creator of the song, can remove MR.
Anyone who thinks MR are more reliable than encore stages is probably a fan who doesn’t want to believe some of their favorite idols are bad at singing. A good number of MR were an acapella of the studio recordings.
Tbh MR removed videos with pre-recorded vocals are pretty easy to catch 🤷
To be honest, pre-recorded save so many idols cause if any use of pre-recorded vocals or lip syncing would be banned for any perfomance or time idols would sing „live“ so many would be probably be exposed to be not as powerful of vocalists fans make them out to be.
But yea, MR removed videos are unnecessary and don’t really deliver actual proof if an idol is singing live or not

I remember a time during which MR removed videos were way more believable than what they are now. I remember vividly watching EXID's mr removed videos and knowing that they were legit, whereas now I always doubt MR removed videos when I see them.

There's a very thin line between criticism, disappointment and pure hate/bullying. So many people have been crossing the line these days. Is it so hard to understand that there is no such thing as flawless vocals while dancing?

The sad truth is: kpop fans dont want live vocals. Its the imperfections that make a live performance feel genuine. Fans are ready to jump on anything thats not 100% perfect. If you are an idol with a lot of dept; even if you are capable. Why risk it?

I think people forget your voice will shake when moving around. I was working out while singing and trust me I was shakey... cracked and went off cord at times. I know this could get me criticism for not being stable or not having skills. I suppose I could also get criticism because I am classically trained. Aside from competitions and acting out the song we don't dance. So maybe I'm not the best example of this but from my experience, your voice will move because your body is making motion. It's natural.

MR Removed Videos would be a reliable source for the 1st, 2nd & middle 3rd gen era but with the late 3rd gen, 4th & now 5th gen? It's useless simce you can now use a pre-recorded vocals & microphones are auto pitched so🤷🏾♀️
MR Removed always ends up leaving vocals super shaky and in metallic way because of how it is designed. The tools just doesn't work even with the most renowed vocalists in Kpop.
What you mentioned about MR rem videos featuring pre-recorded vocals setting up idols for failure is very much what happened to Le sserafim, They use prerecorded vocals for the first week of promotions and their vocals sound good in those videos but then when they have to perform encores or in coachella their already sub par skillset gets even more attention because of the contrast with their pre recorded mr removed videos going viral in the past.

and sadly most K-pop concerts also use pre-recorded vocals layered on the backtrack which cannot be removed by MR software. MR Software like utagoe and audacity only filter the original track/studio version not the prerecorded

@@eloffmusk If the stage uses the same pre-recorded track, all will be cancelled and the MR removed. The result will be either all instrumental or just muted. However, if they use a new pre-recorded track, only the studio track can be removed unless they plan to use it on another stage, in which case it can be filtered again.

Like H.O.T’s Kangta, Shinhwa’s Hyesung (or Minwoo), TVXQ’s Jaejoong and Changmin (or Junsu), Super Junior’s Yesung, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun, SHINee’s Jonghyun (or Jinki), EXO’s Kyungsoo, Baekhyun and Chen, NCT’s Taeil, Doyoung and Haechan, then finally RIIZE’s Sohee.
I know that have I listed a handful of artists and that it takes A LOT OF TIME to analyse them. But I really love SM groups (not SM Ent. cause most of the time they suck) and I would give EVERYTHING to see your opinion about them.
years a go i used to check MR removed video but i don't do it anymore
because there no point to do it that when we know that some live (at least on musical shows) are pre recorded and or edited.
and i would like request a big ranking of the big3 ggs from RV to BM, a individual ranking and why not following by a quick group ranking
i think it would help many kpop fan like me that don't believe on the KVA system to locate the level of each members of those groups.

I think MR Removed videos are irrelevant as of now. MR removeds are 90% prerecorded vocals and therefore not accurate, and when the idols sing live more often than not you can hear them without needing to watch mr removed videos because music show sound systems improved in recent years. I do find it funny when stans say MR removed videos are not accurate for the wrong reasons. I’m sorry but no one is trying to make their voices worse, if a video is fake is usually in favor of idols since that gets more views and engagement from fans commenting “[Insert idol] ate CDs yass queen work”.

Could you please also add treasure in your videos about live singing? Its about as live it could get with how much they adlib on stage (even have a deleted performance because of the adlibs xd)

I've seen them come up in my feed but I've never clicked on them because I wasn't sure what they were and didn't want to waste my time. Glad I never did because they sound like crap. I don't like hearing the pre-recorded vocals on "live" performances because I think it's cheating. If they want to SING then they should cut down on some of the intense choreography. Otherwise just lip sync. I noticed in your "real live vocals" section the groups weren't doing much if any dancing.

I have always found this MR Removed videos weird.
I think it's much easier to forget about MR removed videos altogether, we only need to watch groups that will sing live as often as possible.
And we have a few now, so no excuse, go NMIXX, Baemon etc.
Some of the end examples actually aren't live *or* went untouched during live autocorrections.

i actually really like how sm does it, where sm artists (usually) only sing when paid to preserve their vocals... esp when the songs performed are vocally challenging.. granted we KNOW they can sing if they choose to.

YG is all about recognisable and unique voice. She has a pretty recognisable tone, so does Rami and Ahyeon. She really has that YG style, she does sing softer (same for Rora), but her tone is recognisable..
while in a lot of groups, you could swipe all of the singer and they would pretty much sound the same and it;s hard to know who sings.

As someone who went to singing classes for 2 years I can say that vocal tiers are not 100% accurate and it's never used but it could be a guide to know who has a good technique. Supported vocals are still a very important part of singing since a bad technique can hurt your voice in the long run. As I say, it doesn't represent 100% a singer's abilities because there are other aspects of singing. Also you can always improve or regress (or you can simply sing better some days than others) that's why I don't like vocal tiers. Ex: when some idols jump from F to C tier or depending who you ask they would say a different tier to hype up their favs xd
Regarding Belle and Winter, I think there's not a big gap between them and they have different strong points. There are some areas where Winter is better than Belle and viceversa so it's hard to compare. Also hitting the highest note doesn't make you automatically the better singer and some notes give the illusion to be higher when it's the same note than the other just because of their way of singing them. Ex: Irene hit one of the highest notes in kpop with RBB but you wouldn't say she's a better singer than Seulgi or Wendy. Jimin can reach higher notes than Jungkook but he isn't better than him

@@aaron18283 there is pitch correction you're correct, but i think its still a reliable source. the pitch correction isnt over the top unlike something like killin voice

Sketchbook used to be reliable, but there have been cases where the idols did lip sync and/or the vocals were heavily edited. Sometimes the vocals also sound sooo robotic 😢
Tbh, i feel bad for these idols because I know they're somehow talented but couldn't just showcase it all due to the song and choreography choices of the company. Like how can you sing well while doing hard choreos? How can you belt out those high notes when doing difficult movements? I mean there are idols who can do that but there are also some idols who naturally gets out of breath easily.
I think here comes the advantage of having own producers in a group? For example I watched the livestream of my fave group producing a song and while toplining, one of the producers of the group suggested a line which require a tricky breathing technique. Producer 2 of the group pointed out "is it possible to sing that live? Aren't you going to be out of breath?"
Producer 1 then demonstrated the proper breathing technique to deliver that line.
That's the only time producer 2 agreed and they applied it to the song.
I thought at that time, this type of producers is probably what every kpop group need nowadays 😅 the type that will consider the idols circumstances when performing the song live.

Its just funny seeing comment that's are arguing about if it's live or not. 🤭 Majority of people don't really know what technicalities in the live singing but for some it's actually easy to hear if it's live and have a so called "splits" in that particular live singing cuz splits are given differently in each member depending on the range of vocals they going to use. But there are some groups that no longer use it also. And they are really noticeable.
I think MR removed videos can benefit the comprehension of how a line is sung, as sometimes, a vocal can be hidden in an instrumental. Love the points in the video though.
I had the privilege of attending five of Nmixx's univ festival performances on the spot and all the live vocals they served without MR... and of course they sound nothing like those gnarly MR removed vids lol. They are not a good material at all.
I feel like Mr removed and this whole debackle with live singing is so stupid because it's not the point of kpop. Idols are USUALLY, divided into vocalists, dancers, rapper and visuals. That's because they aren't all supposed to be taeyeon level of singers, they are performers/entertainers, yes they will sing a few lines but the point is to put on a performance. And i feel like kpop fans nowadays only focus on it because they want to hate an idol or they want to act like thier fav is better someone else.
Considering that they in no way tell you if an Idol is actually singing live or not, no.
MR videos got debunked years ago.
The source of the MR removed videos always distorts the *LIVE VOCALS*. I think the creator uses other software, resulting in the MR removed result becoming *DISTORTED*. Old MR removed creators like BHK, LYMA, and others didn't distort the live vocals though. (I'm not hating on the channel, just pointing out the issue with the MR removed videos).

Somehow the problem i have w SM ent. are how they manage their artists for their comeback only for 1 week being their minimum like Red Velvet does. SM always play safe with them so they put prerecord voices to perform and called it a WEEK. And we would never find any live vocal stage afterwards. No live show no festival and only SM concerts and YET they still perform w prerecord. My girls CAN sing live! Aespa too, damn I always try to find their live vocal performance for Drama and they ONLY did once for festival outside Korea and it was so good 😭
MR removed for music show is suck .it pre recorded . If you want to hear their real voice you can hear it on radio show or on their concerts.
This software is not perfect. It capture vocal sound from all sound that mix together. If you trained listener, you don't need this software. I am audio amplifier designer, an electronic and embedded engineer. If this software used by professional then it is OK, because professional can interpreted the result properly. It will be controversy if amateur interpreted the result. For train your ear, you need good equipment, like good player (DAC, CD player, phono player), amplifier, speaker or headphone. You need listen many good recordings and acoustics music instruments play directly without sound system (unplug). So you can compare the timbre, dynamic range, attack time, release time, decay time. You learn the quality of studio microphone and live microphone. You should able to know which is backtrack vocal and which is live vocal ONLY BY LISTENING. I don't watch MR Removed videos and I don't care about amateur opinion.
i feel bad cause aespa girls rarely sing live on music shows, then they compare them to illit encores. don't get me wrong, they are talented but it's not a fair game (I am a MY more than an illit fan btw)

All YG groups can really sing live they trained for it all their month evaluation is all about that that why they are not afraid of the mic even Blackpink is not the best out their but they can sing live
Don’t forget companies like SM, JYPE and YG are on business for decades even when the group doesn’t have a vocal powerhouse like ITZY they’re all singing live with no issues cause all their practice is made singing while training the choreo cause those labels build their guidelines back on 1st and 2nd Gen where they all sang.
People love MR Removes when it shows their idols in a good light, but as soon as people call out if it's pre-recorded and show their imperfections, they turn against the MR Remove maker and come up with so many excuses. Like chill, y'all love to enjoy other idols being criticized until it's your own. I personally like Mr. Removes because I want to support groups that are putting in the work 24/7 and actually taking time to improve. I would rather support a group that sings 50%-100% live than a group that is lip-syncing 100% of the time. However, I understand idols might lip sync on music shows, as it's not important, but fans think their idols win based on who performed live, or better when it's sales and social media engagement. I expect the idol to know how to sing 70-100% live during concerts the most.
