Great video, thank you. I just got my machine and loaded a thin piece of colored paper (not cardstock) and it completely stuck to it. Can you suggest how I clean the mat now? Ugh.
You could try to use the weeding tool to remove it, but the adhesive on a new mat is very strong, and it's quite difficult to get thin materials off of it.

I'm still confused. what side of the heat vinyl do I stick to the mat? I have a reflective heat transfer vinyl.
Hold a light shining to it while in a dim room for your reflective. The side that reflects faces down on the mat to be cut.
If it's htv for a garment you'll mirror the image so it cuts backwards. Weed the rest and this leaves the design.
Now when you flip the htv over so the sticky exposed area that you just weeded is down on the shirt, the design will be corrected and not backwards.

What machine do you have? If you're using silhouette then you don't need registration marks for htv. :-) Maybe we can talk this out and see what the problem is.

Can you do a video on how to get a design from Corel to either silhouette studio or to the cutter. I have the first generation cutter, so no usb. ( hoping to win a new one from Matt! 😉😃
For adhesive vinyl that is not heat transfer how do you load on the cutting mat and do you take it off the paper?
You will load sign or craft vinyl with the backing side down on the mat. Do not remove the backing until you're ready to place your decal.

Ty for this I’m one day brand new lol I cut something out on the mat iron on smooth vinyl and it cut the sticky part on my mat , is there a way to replace the sticky film on the mats or is it garbage now ?
Look at you go, already went for it! Unfortunately, you cannot replace the stickinst of a Mat. What cutter is it? I can give you our cut specs for future reference.

Think it's the 9ne with the pin hole on the bottom not the one where u can see the blade il it has a number 1 on it lol I'm so cameo dumb I don't know what I'm doing ..I try to use it on Mt ipad but I can't lol
No one ever says how the material or vinyl is placed on the mat. I'm new at this and I purchased the iron on sampler by the paper studio. One side is color (the side that will be shown on the material) and one side is shiny white (the back of the color material) which side do I load on the cutting mat to cut the material? I've noticed that in every video so far the colors of the vinyl are the same on both sides. This makes it difficult to determine which side of the iron on paper to place on the mat. The instruction that came with the paper says 'place iron-on material clear liner side down, onto diecut machine cutting mat" .....what does that mean? Thanks for any help
Hey there, Lisa! For iron-on material, or HTV, you want to put it on the mat top side down. It sounds like in your case, color side facing down. If you need additional help, you can call us at 941-755-1696.

I have one mat that I love, but it has lost its stick.....and it's covered in.....stuff.
How can I clean it without it losing its stick?
Some people like cleaning theirs with warm water and a little Dawn dish soap. Me, personally, will either get a new mat or sometimes I buy the Cricut mats because they're cheaper. - TRW Lisa
