    When you make the choice that nothing is more important than the health of your body. It’s really easy to then eat for purpose and to not eat for pleasure.

    It's really hard to get out of this addiction when literally the whole globe is addicted and food is a social question too.

      Me too! I now see food differently! It’s meant to nourish our bodies not meant to be a source of entertainment. Some days are harder than others but knowing the truth about food is what keeps me going! ❤

      I'm getting there but it is hard with kids and the usual societal expectations like birthday cake and holiday feasts. We've all been vegan for 6 years but being 100% healthy vegan is another story! I'm going to try harder though.

    Healthy food need not be boring. Use your creativity and change things around. We’re not horses or animals, humans are a higher order and can still eat for enjoyment while choosing foods that are better for us.

    Now I know I'm not crazy...seriously about 3-4 yrs ago I was sitting with a client & watching out her window saw the cows nawing away at the grass & a light bulb went off, if they do that day in & day out then why can't I. I even thought, they aren't eating another cow or a chicken to get protein, they just eating that grass every day. Thank you Dr. G for the confirmation ❤

      Do you have the same digestive tract and microbiome as a cow or any other ruminants?! Then why would you keep that bulb if it means such childishly bad reasoning?😂 Please find out we, humans didn't evolve on grass or leaves or smoothies or vegan brainwashing like dr Brooke Goldner videos 😊

      The point of her story is we have a natural designated healthy food, it's mostly plants and that it may feel boring- but that doesn't make it WRONG. It's just boring. She wasn't saying we need to eat grass...but that we also can thrive on our natural diet.@@croissant7662

    I do French on Duolingo and always think of this: the word for "food" is _nourriture_ .

    So true!! I am trying to focus on one meal at a time and I eat the most nourishing food first and usually I don't want the crap anyway (but I'm "allowed" to have it). I find it's helping me crowd out the junk without feeling deprived.

    What she's saying is very compelling.
    However, I always wonder why all of the longest-living people never had an exclusively raw diet, but included plenty (mostly) cooked foods.
    Would they have done even better on an all raw diet?
    Or is it that after all we just can't compare animals to humans and humans actually are meant to eat (more or less) cooked foosds to thrive?

      Dr. Fuhrman says if we ate optimally we would live longer than people in the Blue Zones. He said that on average they only live about 5 more years. With our food variety and knowledge of the 6 pillars of heath, and the detriments of obesity, fats, oils, sugar, etc we could all easily live to about 120 years if we didvwhat we are supposed to do.

    I have more fun and food taste better being on a plant based diet. When i was meat eater, all i did was eating one thing, flesh, rubber lol. Plant based has so many variety of choices and flavors.

    I'm on OMAD and it takes me at least four hours to have my meal ! I wish I could eat faster !

    I love to eat healthy. I don’t mind. I just need recipes that are healthy. I need to get ideas that are so good without it being hard.

      You should take a look at her latest book. It's a "cook"book. Only raw recipes. The ones I have tried have changed the way I look at raw food. Definitely worth the money!

    Dr. Goldner, Have you ever had someone with autoimmune premature ovarian failure? If so, how did they do on your program?

    Hi Dr. Goldner! First of all, I really appreciate everything you do, so thank you. My 20 year old daughter is a college student and was diagnosed last year with Hashimoto’s. She also has frequent migraines. Any thoughts on if the two could be related or where to go next for answers? Her doctor put her on levothyroxine for the hypothyroid & we are just managing migraines with one medication after another…none of which work very well. She does meet with a neurologist to talk about lifestyle choices influencing migraines. Also, she had an MRI and we were ruled out any structural cause. She is pescatarian and lives in New York City. Preparing healthy food has been a challenge, however I did buy her a Vitamix that she been using regularly. I guess I’m just wondering what I can do next to help her. It is hard to watch your kid struggle and have to take daily medication and put up with debilitating migraines.

      She needs to give up meat and dairy and gluten and oils and just eat fresh fruits and veggies and nuts and seeds and berries and melons and lentils and read Dr Michael Greger's book How Not to Die and drink Dr. Brooke Goldner smoothie every day. Follow Bryan Johnson's Blueprint protocol diet.

      Salad alongside cooked mixed greens in a meal works for me...

      Include the healthy fats (they will make you feel fuller): Avocado, nuts and seeds, Flaxseed oil

      If you’re hyper nourishing , you can add legumes as they keep you full longer. Veggies on their own dont. Add half a cup or more into your salads or with your cooked veggies.

      Doc recently posted a vid where she says that we might be able to get away with one or two toxic meals without adverse consequences. Maybe, maybe not.
      The question is: Is it worth taking the chance, to only set ourselves back in our healing? She goes over some considerations.
      It's a great vid.
      I think of it often.

      She says after one has healed and been healthy for six months then it's ok to test out an inflammatory food, just not the nasty ones. To me that translates to yes pizza but whole plant foods, whole grains, marinara, nut cheese or seed cheese, etc. as long as the body can deal with those things. Some folks have damaged their organs badly enough that they may have to stay raw

    I'd rather live a shorter life enjoying what I do and eat. I've watched too many old people suffer and die being "healthy" Screw that!
