You touched on this a bit but I’ll expand a bit more - I think manufacturers see mATX as a budget option. If you’re buying a board under $100, chances are it’s mATX. ITX is still niche so it’s generally higher priced with extra features and ATX is left for the “SUPER HIGH END BALLS TO THE WALLS” builds which leaves mATX in a weird position. Why aren't atx cases smaller?? I love my phanteks p350x but it is 20-30cm longer than needed like they think that I'm gonna do a custom loop in a 50 dollar case..
That's actually a very good point. They could just make smaller ATX cases. They often have a bunch of wasted space. That is part of why I like Matx so much.
They already exist. Look at the Fractal Define C. Size of a MATX tower but takes ATX motherboards. Perfect dimensions for me. Only leaves a 9mm gap between the front fans and a 3 fan GPU.
i got the same case and i have the exact same critique. longer than it needs to be and all that empty space to the right of the mobo for custom loop bs. still love it though cause its just a flat out gorgeous, well-made tower for a great price
I have the same exact combo as well in a Thermaltake Core V21. I love the cube form factor, but I wish I knew about the Meshify C Mini or even a Cerberus.
Did my first ever build in this exact case, love it, mATX all the way, and now there are a bunch of really nice b550 mbs out there for mATX, (they weren't around when I built, I just have an ITX x570 board in the mATX case, which is mostly fine)
The problem with case design now, is they are almost all designed with added space for water cooling. So most M-ATX cases are as big (or bigger) as a small, budget ATX case. It seems like small case design peaked in about 2014, which is pretty sad.
Great job standing up for us M-enthusiasts! Although, I am a fan of ITX, just to see how much I can cram into a tiny space. Kinda wish there was an even smaller form factor.
I still love MATX, you can fit a gpu, a cpu, all the ram and not have a honking great desktop. its not like sli or crossfire is a thing anymore. ATX just has a whole bunch of PCIe slots that will be empty forever and MITX is so compromised that your GPU will set itself on fire.
The real problem with mATX is the fact that outside of a few decent cases, most of them are over-sized for no reason, and take up just as much--and more in many cases--desk space than regular mid and full towers when ignoring height.
Does that b450 Steel legend run 3600mhz ddr4 ram? All spec sheets only mention 3200. Know those zen 2 Ryzens love the higher ram speeds but cant make heads or tails if those x570 or b450 Rsrock boards support anything higher than 3200
@@Satray01 I have the ASRock B450M Steel Legend with a Ryzen 5 3600 with 16 gig of gskill 3600 speed RAM, and it boots into windows at 3600 MHz, but I have found games become unstable, so I run the RAM at 3200 and it runs fine.
Im a convert. I just ran with my Fractal Arc Mini for the last 7 years and will be upgrading my entire rig to a Cooler Master NR400 next week on a B450 Ryzen 5 platform. I do agree they should definitely have more options, because really, how many of those expansion slots do people actually use on a standard ATX platform?
Marx should be the future, if there's no problem fitting the vrms. I don't know anybody that's able to slot anything in the second 16x PCIe slot so just removing it completely is understandable.
In 2019 I bought a new PC and went full mATX: cheaper MB compared to ATX but same quality, same good airflow of ATX, and smaller than ATX so it takes up less space. I love the format and I agree manufacturers give it way less credit than they should. Why do people buy ATX boards to only put a single GPU on it, does it make any sense?
2:30 This pissed me off a LOT. I had my eyes on the NZXT H400 when it came out and just knew I had to have one for my next build, it was literally the only case I really wanted... Well, that next build took a while to happen and NZXT updated the H700/500/200 but cancelled the 400. They claim it wasn't very popular, but why is it then I couldn't find a red and black H400 in stock anywhere just weeks after the Hx10 cases hit the market? I considered buying the CoolerMaster NR400 instead, but I was so mad and I knew I would always look at it and know it was my second choice that I abandoned the mATX idea completely and did an ITX build in a completely different case (TT Core V1) instead. I could have gone with the H210, but that one needs a more expensive SFX PSU in order to not suffocate the GPU and yeah, did I tell you I was pissed at NZXT for cancelling the H400?
I completely agree with you. Only around a month ago, I built my first pc, with a r5 3600, 1660s, and b450m mortar max. Worked fine for a month then I started having problems. Tried to find alternative parts online and was shocked at how little good options there were for micro atx boards. Hopefully this changes in the future 🙏
Hey for ryzen you actually have 2 pretty good b450 matx boards and affordable the B450M Bazooka Plus and B450M Mortar [Titanium] (Don't know if the non titanium is as good but should be they look the same) you should try one of those in your build they can even support the 3900x if you have a case with good airflow (which you do)
Never use terms like "no-one" when that leaves no room to back out when myself and a lot of other people will tell you you're flat-out WRONG. I have four PCs in my house, all with MATX format, and all with CD/BluRay drives in them... we still use them for a variety of reasons, and I can also tell you that I know a LOT of other people with MATX cases who still use them... in the future try using words like "I don't" or "myself and my friends don't"... try avoiding blanket statements that are factually wrong that you can't take them back. The industry also continues to make cases, in both ATX and MATX format that support ODD bays.... must be for a reason... like "oh ya, people still use them"... just because YOU don't, doesn't mean nobody else does.
A bit late to this discussion but, I recently finished a mATX build in a Mini Pop Air and its great. I was concerned with heat management but it runs very cool. I'm running a 5800x3D on the Asrock B550M Steel Legend, 32gb Corsair Vengeance LPX, 1TB 980 Pro, Fractal Lumen 240mm AIO, and a Sapphire Pulse 6750 XT. It all fits very cozy like and just looks super clean without all the unused space that's usually in a standard ATX case. As long as they keep making higher end mainboards I'm probably gonna stick with it.
Yes Dawid, I have a soft spot for M-ATX systems. I have a MSI Aegis 3 as one of my rigs. It's not the most powerful system I own, but it's still perhaps my favourite. I purchased it a couple of years ago specifically as I was looking for a small form factor that packs a great punch. It's only 30cm (12") high at the front and 40cm (less than 16") deep, yet the model has multiple options for people depending on budget, from 1050 - 1080Ti, system processors vary and the ssd, hdd, ram etc are all expandable due to the clever case design. The built in WiFi is the best I've experienced for reliability and the system is as quiet as a mouse, even under heavy load. The case doesn't take up much space on a desk and is a handy size (clever carry handle build into the design) to transport around to friends/relatives for a gaming/VR night, another reason I purchased it, a desktop rig with portability. It's a really nice looking case as well. I think it won a design award, great performance for size. I would like to do a M-ATX build from scratch though if I can find the right case and motherboard etc.
It's still a good choice for budget/midrange builds, though. Slap a B450 or B550 with a six core Ryzen and a midrange GPU in there, and you come out significantly cheaper than an ATX board/case combo. The only reason I don't do that is because I have both a sound card and a wireless card that aren't great choices to sit right next to a hot GPU.
Have an Matx build atm, works well, especially since I have a small room and I wanted it to maximize the space in my room. Hopefully like you said, they make better Matx mobos.
B450 Aorus with Ryzen 7 2700X here, the VRMs have been my concern since day one. But to be fair my system has been very stable so far with actually pretty good performance. The point is, mATX makes a lot of sense for people like me that wants to put their PCs on the desk because, due to my room's furniture, I don't have much space to put a Full ATX system. And what's the point in having a good looking assembled system if you can't see it when it's hidden under your desk?
the first PC I buy with my own money was a Dell Inspiron Desktop, and as all OEM PCs it comes in MATX size. And I just got used to the size, when I finally built one myself I went with ATX primarily because the small shop that I went to only carry ATX boards, and after building the thing it just looks humongous, I just can't stand the sight of it on my desk. So it has to stay under the desk, ugh. After that system goes through it's useful life I have been building MATX ever since
Check out darkFlash's DLM 21 and 22 cases...the 22 has a solid front, but the 21 is meshy...Both cases come in White, Pink, Black, and an awesome Mint Green (Celeste for the Bianchi lovers). I built a white DLM22 for a friend, a Mint Green 22 for my daughter (with Bianchi stickers) and a White DLM21 for myself. A great case with a outstanding paint.
@@96Eclipsed can't get the darkflash cases in the UK tho Edit: as much as I would love the dark flash cases I would love to get a case with better airflow so I'm probably getting the Thermaltake Versa H18
Exactly my sentiments! Nailed it. FD Define Mini C user here. Went for Asrock B450M Steel legend when I upgraded from AM3 to AM4. It does the job. The cases are prettier and it can still fit something like a Sapphire Nitro+ 5700 XT card in there too. Indeed then I only have a sound card (Xonar DX/XD) plugged in there, so I do not need more expansion slots. Even my Noctua D15 fits just fine. An ATX-case would just look empty (and boring). I love mATX too!
Choosing Between the thermaltake h17 and the coolermaster q300l for my first microatx build but I'm a little concerned about thermals for either. I'm planning on buying two 140mm fans to the front for either. What do you think is the better option?
Dawid Does Tech Stuff Looking at thermals I haven’t found great data on whether or not thats true but my intuition says it seems like it must given it has more ventilation. Have you built any machines with the q300l and compared it to your h17 build?
@@walkingdeath15 The H17 is going to be better... the Q300L is the smaller brother of the Q500L... which Steve on Gamer's Nexus does a full thermal review on, and it's a freaking oven... do not take any advice to buy the Q300L based on good thermals, because that's a crock of horse manure.
The Cooler Master NR400 is probably the best budget modern M-ATX case. It even has a 5.25 inch bay. Also the Asus Prime B450m-A is a pretty good board as well.

Just built a mATX in the CoolerMaster Q300L a few days ago. Ryzen 5 3600X, RTX 2060 OC, and a Kraken M22 AIO. Mobo was a Gigabyte B450 DS3H. My biggest problem with the mobo was the lack of fan headers. I had to buy an adapter with voltage control that plugs into the PSU and had 5 fans plugged in. Runs beautifully but it is annoying.
If you’re only going to use one slot for the graphics card anyway, why not just get a mini-ITX board and put it into a micro-ATX case? I’ve seen some low-end pre-build PC manufacturers do this.
I build my machine in the Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L and honestly, I freaking love it. it's so tiny compared to the tower I had before, and paired with my R5 3600 on a MSI MAG B550M Mortar, it works great honestly.
Just did my 1st DIY in 5-6 years - R5 3600, Asus TUF B450M Pro Gaming in a Montech Flyer mATX case. Came out so nice I ordered a 2nd Pro Gaming in case I want to build another one. Will have to go with a slightly larger case though as I apparently bought the last Flyer. :(
Can we use all the ports on a motherboard? Doesn't the size of components matter? Don't some graphics cards make other ports unusable because of their big size? I am asking because I am a beginner.
It’s funny how I’m in this predicament as I need to upgrade my pc with most probably a zen 3 build. After going super small with itx using the NCase M1, I’m frustrated with coolermaster deciding to appease the sffpc subreddit users to make the NR200 around 18L. If it had some minor cable routing options and could reliably fit up to 165mm height cpu air coolers with the side mounting bracket, I would have bought it right away. The Lian li tu150 kinda fits the bill, but I wish the top was used for room for two 120mm fans, while the front panel had room for two 120 fans. I have a spare Silverstone tj08e, but with the outdated storage drive cage design and lack of high end matx boards for X570, I get the feeling things won’t change for matx X series amd boards for zen 3.
I find the biggest problem is that the mATX Cases are not really smaller than the ATX version. Meshify C = 36.85L and Meshify C Mini = 33.41L. And that is also the case with most of the only mATX cases. MB311L (mATX) = 38.97L and P300 (ATX) = 36L. So why should I go mATX if it is even smaller than ATX ? I would like to see some with SFX PSUs to cut some corner and
"This version of Fractal design C doesn't perform any different thermally than the ATX version." What are your cpu and gpu temps under stress testing and under load with this setup? Also, did you try this setup in an ATX case to compare that data?
Hey Dawid, have you checked out the ASRock B450M Pro4? According to the chart that was posted on the AMD subreddit during the Zen2 release, it should be enough to actually power a 3900/2700X if you have some airflow going over it.
ask about how many expansion cards I have "chuckles with desktop then dies of laughter with file server" I agree with you about MATX needing to be more widely adopted, I hope that x570 AsRock made is good.
I'm more an ATX / Full tower kinda person myself, but I did build an M-ATX computer that resides in my living room, and I gotta say, the M-ATX case I used was far superior to the mid-tower I used for my ATX build. Bucket loads more space for drives and what not and in some ways easier to build in. This was an AMD build around the B450 days and had a number of mobo options available. Could it just be that the X570 is still very new and manufacturers are covering the larger markets first? (ATX / ITX) Or perhaps its a geographical thing and they don't release / announce them over there as the demand is too low. (I haven't looked in the past year)
Spot on mATX problem where motherboard manufacturers often mislook this form factor. Thanks god the Z490 intel platform got high end choices. Using ROG Strix Z490-G (Wifi) on my NZXT H400i and I absolutely loved it!
I’ve recently started gathering parts, I went with mATX because of my size scenario in my room. I think I’ll be fine with an ASRock b450 it seems like a great budget way out especially for someone who Is new to pc’s.
i bought a microatx board recently because my old atx system in a normal case was taking away so much space even though the case was half empty. i wanted to check which case would fit after buying the mainboard and right now im sitting here, kind of desperate. even microatx cases have so much unnnecessary space. i'm probably going to build a case by myself..
me too, I'm trying to build my first pc with Asrock B450 stell legend and ryzen 5 3400G. still deciding on casing either an invasion 815 MATX or an NZXT 510. But I'm going to upgrade slowly with cpu cooler and graphic cards. what do you think?
@@9988chrisdaniel ok, nzxt h510 is an atx case, so I'd go with the Invasion 815 Matx because it'll also look better because it is made for micro-atx pcs
I've found mATX to be well suited for budget builds. I like the idea of them being a good middle ground between ITX and ATX, but as the video mentions, I've found that the selection set for cases and mobos to be limited.
Totally agree with you! For me its simple... I dont want the size of ATX but turning to ITX would feel like playing Jenga. In reverse. The reason why I dont want ATX is because I only water cool my CPU with a double fan AIO tops, and I never use two GPUs (SLI/Crossfire is kinda dead by now anyway, right?). So an ATX tower in my case looks like a big box with a lot of empty space. Basically I am not a power gamer, and I think power gamers that overclock everything etc. are actually the minority. But companies, using those users as an excuse, push everyone to this idea of "premium" which ties quality only with overclocking-related features (custom loops, quality VRMs almost only on "overclocking mobos" etc). Of course one could use an ITX mobo in a micro tower to open up more mobo options, but that does not address the lack of premium mATX cases compared to ATX cases. Other than the Phanteks EVOLV mATX I can not think of another mATX case that packs so many quality markers (sturdy build, unique design, rubber grommets, sliding dust filters, premium cable ties, expansions slots with thumb screws etc.). And again it might be because a lot of people see this case as an opportunity for custom loops so maybe the company itself had this in mind which lead to all of these awesome features. Bottom line: there are plenty of moderate gamers that want quality but dont care about big size, custom loop capabilities and the like.
Hi! Do you think its a good idea to build a PC with i9-10900k with some water cooling (for example Kraken x63 etc), 2080s/2080ti in mATX case like yours/NZXT h400? What about overheating and noise levels if I`m planning to put it on the table next to me?
At my local computer shop, 90% of cases are mATX and don't have any ATX Cabinets availbale, they're only available in RGB in gaming cases with good airflow... So at my nearby computer market, there are mostly mATX Cabinets available, no ATX or Mini ITX available except gaming cabinets in which mini ITX Not available...
How do you get around the problem of getting cool air to the GPU in mATX case? I've been wondering if something like a Sama IM-01 is even better due to the GPU being able to just draw air directly in from the bottom..
I like the matx form factor because from my looking, it seems to be cheaper than itx, especially on the very low-budget end, but is still smaller than atx, which is good for secondary systems that you want to put in a smaller location. My example is that I'm looking to build a ryzen apu based system for a multipurpose rig meant for a nas, a network attached adblocker, and a game server or two for me and my friends. Where I want to put it, is too small for a full atx system, but I also want to lower costs as much as possible so I can build it sooner. Plus, itx typically won't have the hdd support you'd want for something like a nas.
Why would MATX only be good for "secondary systems"... what "main system" wouldn't work in MATX format? As Dawid mentioned in the video... the only difference between ATX and MATX is the 7 expansion slots to 4 expansion slots differential... and seriously, aside from probably a 2-slot filling Graphics Card... who's using more expansion slots beyond the GPU? Who uses MORE than 4 expansion slots in a "main system"? Maybe someone does, but that number is probably extremely small. I can't see any reason why MATX can only be used for "secondary" systems. I'd wager to say that 99% of people who build full-ATX systems will never use more than 4 expansion slots.
@@wolfshanze5980 I agree with you wholeheartedly, and I never said matx was only good for secondaries. I only mentioned it as one of many potential use cases.
I have this case and love it. All watercooled setup and I use the final slot for my extra SSD. Definitely buying the larger version for my server build.
Team mATX here also. My current PC is an ATX that I was able to fit in the smallest full ATX case I could find (Corsair 175R) but I can't want to build my next PC in a Meshify C Mini or whatever case comes out next that is worth my while!
i am actually buying my parts for an matx build today. I think since this video came out there has been way more support and also decently priced as well
I've always been a fan of mATX myself. I can't remember if it was said by an ASUS or Asrock rep on Reddit, but they said the reason mATX options are dwindling is because the form factor sells poorly. Everyone wants full size or self-immolating ITX rigs these days.
I've got the same affliction...Haven't had an ATX board since my Abit KT400 socket A/462. Now, I have 2 Ryzen ITX, the gigabyte ab350 gaming ITX, and the Asrock Fatality B450 ITX. The other 3 are Gigabyte's B450M-D3SH, Asrock B350m-HDV and B450Mpro4. The best MATX case I've found is the CoolerMaster NR400 (it's a LOT like the Meshify C mini) And, the N200 works pretty well, too. Looking to put the DS3H is a slim micro running a 3200G...And ideas?
im happy that after i did my reasearch and now know i picked the same case as you like 15 mins after i decided the case so it's awesome and i also chose mATX for the purpose of it being on my desk
The cases are the only problem with M-ATX; they are the same size as full ATX cases. The boards are only 3 inches longer than M-ITX, but the cases are literally 15 liters larger volume.
I love M-ATX! Been using them for a long time. The reason I stick with M-ATX is for my media PC. When I upgrade my main system, the old hardware then upgrades my media PC. Therefore, they BOTH have to be M-ATX, cuz I've always used M-ATX for my media PCs. I liked your vid! :)
Recently bought a 3090, and in my itx case it was constantly hitting it's thermal limit. Transplanted all the hardware into this case (meshify mini) and that dropped temps by up to 20°c on both my cpu and gpu. It may be a "budget" option, but it works well.
I'm using that same case. I absolutely love mATX. It isn't super compact like ITX but it doesn't waster a lot of space like ATX does. I'm not going to have four expansion cards, so I don't need a full size ATX, but I don't want to sacrifice cooling and ease of maintenance like you do with ITX. mATx is just such a nice middle-ground.
I started with ATX builds. Moved on to mATX builds. And am now into my third ITX build. I love SFF stuff. I just don't like the lack of CMOS switches or diagnostic LEDs that's become the norm more recently.
So mATX motherboards aren't able to properly run ryzen CPUs? I'm making a semi budget build that I thought was pretty future proof but this just screwed my whole build. Hate being this guy but do you know if the r5 3600 will perform alright with the ASRock b550m Pro4 micro atx? I thought the form factor looked nice and preserved performance, didn't realize I'd be hindered by it.
TBH im going through this issue... kinda i currently have a 2080 ti and 8700k inside a define nano s (mini itx..) and ive been wanting to go M-atx however the mobo's just arent there.. i love m-atx cases tho. i wish companies did supported it more. but until then the define nano s is my case
The newly released Coolermaster NR200 is probably the best mainstream mini itx right now for the price and size. It’s basically a cheaper, but bigger NCase M1. I like mini itx, but maintaining an itx system can be a pain. Wish AMD Ryzen X series platform had good matx boards. Maybe it’ll change for zen 3, but I doubt it.
I've always been a matx builder, I don't know if it's the smaller size or cheap motherboards, but I love it! Only thing I'm now missing is some more pro motherboard settings I which I could have on my b450 motherboard :(
Guess what, the MSi B450m Mortar Max I have now actually supports overclocking and even states so in the manual. Got it for around 100usd which is pretty slick in my opinion
I think Matx is the perfect OEM supermarket prebuild form factor. Enough space for easy engineering and a few slots and small enough to sell in small cases easy to handle to for the pleb.
The real problem is there's no unilateral size benchmark in the industry. This isn't that much smaller than the Meshify C ATX. It is near enough the same size as the define C nano and H200i by NZXT, both listed as ITX. Guarenteed when the Meshify C nano arrives they'll just shave 3cm off the top of this mini and call it an ITX enclosure. I'd make the meshify C nano with the following dimensions 355mm x 343mm x 186mm
Im currently using 6 out of 7 pci slots on my machine so i would have to just say. People should plan accordingly. Motherboards are coming with everthing you need now or days so i do see your point. A man can still dream of a real dual x16 at x16.
I'm a long-time MATX lover... but coming as a mostly Intel-builder... I haven't really notice the motherboard manufacturer problem you speak of. It sounds more like an AMD board maker issue than a form-factor issue. I've always been able to get whatever top-tier MB I want in the MATX form factor on the Intel side.
I think the problem is motherboard manufacturers don’t really see mATX as a market for enthusiasts. For them, mATX are cut-down ATX boards - a way to earn a buck at the lower end of the market for minimal effort. ITX, on the other hand, requires a completely new design and are therefore ‘bespoke’.
Watched this after buying a B550M Steel Legend Motherboard from Asrock, having seen reviews about this mobo happily overclocking the 3950X. Satisfied that it is ready for Zen 3 CPUs coming soon. This year mobo makers have taken this form factor more seriously for sure!
I've been looking for a small matx case but can't find one I'm happy with. I'm only going to use m.2 drives so I don't need any drive bays but that doesn't seem to be a thing.
Luckily, the ASRock seems to be a decent board. I think m-ATX could be the future, but more people need to take it up. Another good case is the Fractal Design Define C Mini.
I used to be very heavy m-atx Intel and amd. But when the x570 stuff was coming out with new ryzen 3000 series, I immediately just switched to itx. X470 is missing a lot. And m-atx was always nice as it's the nice middle.... Because dtx is impossible to really get anything.
i think the problem with matx is that case manufacturers thinks that everyone is gonna make a full custom watercooling build Making it 20 % bigger for no real reason ending in almost same size as ATX There are plenty of videos of custom builds in Itx cases under 20L (aka SFF cases), look at Sliger Cerberus M an amazing matx case under 20L that support watercooling if needed.
mATX is the middle child: often overlooked but still just as capable in the right scenario. me & my ASRock B450M PRO4 are happy with where we stand.

Take a look at some Riotoro cases. Such as CR1088. Same size or smaller than many MATX cases due to its chamber style design.
They already exist. Look at the Fractal Define C. Size of a MATX tower but takes ATX motherboards. Perfect dimensions for me. Only leaves a 9mm gap between the front fans and a 3 fan GPU.
@@Saaaaab sorry but it's expensive with no RGB. Even though it's an awesome case the price makes it unavailable for many people.
i got the same case and i have the exact same critique. longer than it needs to be and all that empty space to the right of the mobo for custom loop bs. still love it though cause its just a flat out gorgeous, well-made tower for a great price
Defiantly agree on this and not to mention how it’s cheaper overall (case + motherboard)
Yeah, it is a great form factor that manufacturers don't seem to care about.

Ryzen 3600 + B450m Mortar max is the best budget PC of this year
They are a really epic combination. 👍
I’m pairing the B450M Mortar Ti with the 3900x stock.
just got the same combo myself lol (hence the search for a tower that isn't an oversized hunk of metal..,matx needs more love compared to atx imho.
I have the same exact combo as well in a Thermaltake Core V21. I love the cube form factor, but I wish I knew about the Meshify C Mini or even a Cerberus.
No audio chip in mortarmax lol
Finally a tech tuber with my hairstyle
Hahaha!!
I too am an matx lover, I use a Silverstone ft03 which is such a cool looking case. I really wish the form factor had more love.
Great job standing up for us M-enthusiasts! Although, I am a fan of ITX, just to see how much I can cram into a tiny space. Kinda wish there was an even smaller form factor.
That's true, ITX is also great. To be fair I don't discriminate, I love all PC's. :P
Pick raspberry pie and do custom loop with it inside the box your phone came in. if you succeed I'll pay you back the whole build😂
I'd happily do a raspberry pi water-cooled build if someone paid for it, but I'm under the impression you were talking to Dawid
@@zaphryxchangeling1770 no I actually meant to talk to you because of what you said about cramping things into a small space, so take your chance😂
Legit think about it for a second, a water cooled raspberry pi build. I think it would end up in a museum
I'm running a Ryzen 5 2600 with an Asrock B450 Steel Legend MATX with a huge ASUS ROG STRIX RTX2060 inside my Fractal Meshify C Mini and i love it!
That sounds like a great PC. I love the Meshify C mini. Such an awesome case.
I absolutely love my MATX Ryzen 2600 build wouldn't go with another form factor!!!
I glad you also appreciate it good MATX build. :D
I could have gone with the H210, but that one needs a more expensive SFX PSU in order to not suffocate the GPU and yeah, did I tell you I was pissed at NZXT for cancelling the H400?
welcome to the "wanted the H400 but can't cause its discontinued" club. I settled with the InWin 301, otherwise known as H400's chocked ugly sibling.
MATX is the best form factor for me, there is no unused pcie slot that makes PC feels hollow, unless you do custom watercooling.
E-atx master race B) I’ve always dreamt of having a high end e-atx. But hardline tubed m-atx systems are imo the best looking combo
Haha!! Eatx does seem super badass somehow. :P
Yeah that build Optimum Tech did was amazing.
There is one more option for mATX, the Thermaltake Core V21 is a cube case, be a good fellow and show some love to it :)
There's a LOT MORE than "one more option for mATX"... there are a ton of good MATX cases out there.
Well this has grown outdated because now they do have great boards for matx
Hey for ryzen you actually have 2 pretty good b450 matx boards and affordable the B450M Bazooka Plus and B450M Mortar [Titanium] (Don't know if the non titanium is as good but should be they look the same) you should try one of those in your build they can even support the 3900x if you have a case with good airflow (which you do)
Yes! No one uses CD/DVD drive bays anymore and M.2 storage is taking over, meaning no need for HDDs. Why do we need all this empty space???
After that system goes through it's useful life I have been building MATX ever since
I love matx PC cases. My current pc (which is my first pc) but there needs to be more budget matx cases (in white) for under $50

I think you should go for the q300. Especially if you are adding front fans. It has much better airflow.
Dawid Does Tech Stuff Looking at thermals I haven’t found great data on whether or not thats true but my intuition says it seems like it must given it has more ventilation. Have you built any machines with the q300l and compared it to your h17 build?

Is that case a ATX case?
cases aren't even available anymore, I would love to see the techware fusion/ sama im01 stateside but i guess demand isn't there
Mid 2020, we now have B550 MATX motherboards with good VRMs for Ryzen.

Don't forget that carrying a m-ATX form factor case to LAN party's every weekend is a whole lot easier then a ATX or even a full tower case.
November 2020 5000 series zen 3 dropped. What you guys think about today's options now? The msi mag motar b550m looks promising
That is great! I'm glad you also appreciate an M-ATX PC. Tha ks for liking the video.

7 months later and there are still only 2 X570 MBs for mATX. WTH? Guess you were right... :(

I think it was either nzxt or phanteks said they will not be supporting matx cases for future designs T.T
underrated :), i subbed immediatly
That's awesome to hear. Welcome to the channel. 😃
I'd make the meshify C nano with the following dimensions
355mm x 343mm x 186mm
mAtx is actually very popular here in my country. The compact size is preferred by a significant lot of people.
They don't support this form factor because then it would hurt bottom lines and cause a wider range of products to worry about testing, designing, etc.
Does it make any sense to put a matx b460 board into an atx case for the sake of cooling and expansion??
Luckily, the ASRock seems to be a decent board. I think m-ATX could be the future, but more people need to take it up. Another good case is the Fractal Design Define C Mini.
I used to be very heavy m-atx Intel and amd. But when the x570 stuff was coming out with new ryzen 3000 series, I immediately just switched to itx. X470 is missing a lot. And m-atx was always nice as it's the nice middle.... Because dtx is impossible to really get anything.
i think the problem with matx is that case manufacturers thinks that everyone is gonna make a full custom watercooling build
Making it 20 % bigger for no real reason ending in almost same size as ATX
There are plenty of videos of custom builds in Itx cases under 20L (aka SFF cases), look at Sliger Cerberus M an amazing matx case under 20L that support watercooling if needed.
They really have a weird definition of compact IMO
p.s本人是一個可以說是極端執著一些細節的人..本人選matx機箱長寬高一定不過400mm.走線孔一定要有防塵膠.還有透側玻璃.希望同樣用matx朋友可大家文交流一下
