Michael Anthony was asked about releasing this whole show in an interview a few years ago. He said he was pretty sure that only three videos -- "Unchained," "So This Is Love?" and "Hear About it Later" were ever filmed.
WonkaVator72 I read that too, dude, but I have a hard time buying it. Who the hell brings a bunch of expensive cameras and film crews into a huge arena for two nights in a row, pays everybody and tells them to film three songs, some of which were toward the beginning of the show, some at the very end? Then just sit there with their big cameras off for most of the show. No one, that's who. MA is full of it. He just means 3 videos were edited together and mastered, but money is still on the raw footage stored somewhere. Think about it. You think they paid less for a film crew for 2 nights filming 3 songs versus the whole show? You think a multi-million dollar band with a sold out tour was trying to save pennies? The film crew was paid by the night, the same amount no matter if you asked them to film 1 song (would never happen) or the whole show. Mike, you are full of it. (I hope!)
I saw this world tour also. Have tons of pictures. I was right up against the stage. I have a couple pics where you can see blood on Eddie's fingers! Some pics have Eddie and Dave looking right down at me and smiling! Lots of fun and good memories!
Omg cherish those pictures! I would have them blown up huge and put under glass! I can not imagine what that was like being inches away at VH in their prime. I hope you got a great picture of Eddies beautiful smile while he was playing! So gorgeous! Thank you Bonnie for your post. It gave me chills. 🥰Amy

@@teddybears4life240 I fell in love with VH during the Fair Warning period; they gave an interview on the old "Rockline" program, and Dave was just so witty, unlike other groups at the time, who took themselves so seriously. For example: " People say Ozzy is Be'elzebub, which is in error. I myself AM the son of satan, though my duties are largely ceremonial."..No other rock star has such a quote. I think it's gotta suck for Dave to have Ed's passing so close to Dave's birthday, which is October 10. (I hope!)
Tom Miller they should AT LEAST give us the AUDIO!
Hopefully, the Dude will abide...
Tom Miller Jimmy Page at least gave us the 70s shows on a DVD with the full How the West Was Won album.
I saw this world tour also. Have tons of pictures. I was right up against the stage. I have a couple pics where you can see blood on Eddie's fingers! Some pics have Eddie and Dave looking right down at me and smiling! Lots of fun and good memories!
Bonnie Buchanan
Is love to see!! Was born in 79, but I got into Van Halen in later 90s some how😍 thankfully In love
I took good pics too
How you gonna see blood on his fingers he had been playing and building caluses for literally hundreds of hours lol
🥰Amy
I saw them on this tour and one of the best memories of my life. I was right up front and tried to touch Eddie's sock when he came to the edge of the stage. I could not hear for about a week!! Loved them then and I love them now. I'll be 80 driving around jammin to Unchained.
Fkn amazing! I saw them live once. About this time. Great show! DLR was a hell of a show man.
Those were the days 😎 I'm happy to say I got to see Van Halen ten feet away from the stage 🎶🎸
I always tell my son. ‘ life is change’
that leap is iconic
This tour was my 1st VH concert. The BEST concert I have EVER seen. Watching this today it’s so hard to believe that this was done in 1981. Damn! So glad I grew up in the 80’s! Best of times & the BEST rock n roll EVER!!!…
The Holy Grail of Van Halen archives, release the whole show on video please, I would commit to buy it immediatelly. This band could listen to their fans for once... although I'm sure that Wolf will release it one day sooner or later.

Van Halen is my favorite rock band ever, 59 years old and I groove to this beat.
How anyone can choose rap and other recent outputs over this is beyond me. Roy.
Greatest band since zeppelin..😊
Eddie I was honored 3 times to see you totally show how amazing you are on that amazing instrument that you were gifted to play! Rest in peace 🙏 you are in my rock and roll Hall of Fame!
I've watched this video a hundred times. I just noticed something...at the 2:24 mark , Ed turns around and is playing his red/white frankenstrat! Is it just me that never noticed this before?? Over 40 yrs later!!
Yeah im pretty sure they used footage from the hear about it later video and this one to make both
I've never noticed that either and never would've lol
Impresionante, espectacular. Hace temblar las paredes! Que grupazo! Uno de los mejores guitarristas que pasó por la faz de la tierra.
I still can't believe Eddie said he couldn't play base .RIP Eddie.
Simply put, in the late 70s thru the early 80s...there was Van Halen and then there was everybody else.
All hail the King of Strings 🎸 ❤
The sound quality is the best I've heard on a live cut. They're def. going through the archives and updating...good news, I hope!
listen to dokken beast from the east 1988 that kicks azz live
When you forget the town your in…..”we love ya ……people”. Love you dave !
Just an observation, how the hell does David L.R. spandex pants stay up with no suspenders? As low as they are you would think all the jumping around would make them fall down.
Don't forget Alex is at total beast on drums
One of my favorite Van Halen songs that opening guitar riff legendary yeah I'm 60 years old now I remember growing up this is the one we would crank up as loud as it would go I think I'll watch it again I forgot Eddie could jump like that great music from yesterday I can watch anytime I want thank you Google
“EVERYBODY UP!” I don’t care how many times I watch it, I get the same excitement
fair warning is van halen's masterpiece...
The first four VH albums are masterpieces. But Fair Warning is my favorite too
Right before the bullshit really started...
Van Halen 2 is a masterpiece. that album gets so slept on it's ridiculous.
NOPE....DIVER DOWN THEIR BEST ALBUM AND EVERYBODY KNOWS IT
@@teddybears4life240 I fell in love with VH during the Fair Warning period; they gave an interview on the old "Rockline" program, and Dave was just so witty, unlike other groups at the time, who took themselves so seriously. I share a birthday with my mom (May 10; also the birthday of Bono of U2, and his daughter Ali, Fred Astaire, Mark David Chapman, who killed John Lennon, Sid Vicious, who killed himself, and John Wilkes Booth, who murdered Abraham Lincoln.) Not important, I just knew that...
I was 12 in ‘81 and saw them at the fabulous forum in Los Angeles and saw Van Halen EVERY tour til their last in 2015 at Hollywood bowl which happened to be my first time at that venue and Van Halen’s first time playing there as well 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Wish this line-up would tour...come on, guys!!! Please
Will never be another.😢😢
Classic DLR. Man, he was buff like a super hero. RIP Eddie.
MEDIC ROCKS WITH DOCS - DAVID LEE ROTH’S NEW GIG
❤❤THE GOAT LIVES ON THRU HIS MUSIC !! LOVE EDWARD VANHALEN / VANHALEN ROCKS!!❤❤❤❤❤
If you can't get excited from this you are a corpse.
Reelect TRUMP!!
@@Thirthton wtf does that have to do with it?
@@Shoots.Co. it has everything to do with it..
Yes, that's what SSRI drugs and college music will do to people, makes them soulless.
@@Thirthton im not say I dont like trump I just dont think this has anything to do with it
RIP Eddie. You and Angus got me thru junior high. High school and more. Top 5 guitarists of all time. I still have your pic from Charlotte NC 1985. RIP
David dancing like a gigglo, Eddie jamming on guitar, michael on bass and Alex on beat. WTF doesn't get any better. Name a band you can do the same???
I have wept a few times over the past weeks. This is real music, how blessed most of were to be alive and witness. RIP Eddie. We all loved you.
Yes
I love Cobra Kai's taste in music. Gen Z's of the world , that blonde long hair dude singing is what was known as a Rockstar !
Give Wolfgang a chance , he will be great also if he isnt already .
Eddie Van Halen: The man, the myth, the legend!!. His amazing guitar skills and great contributions to the music world will never be duplicated. You were one of a kind Eddie. You recorded one of the most amazing solos with Michael Jackson (Beat it) and made a secret cameo in 1985s classic movie "Back to the Future" (The Edward Van Halen tape). Your Resume is endless. I declare October 6th Eddie Van Halen day. Keep on rocking in heaven with Tom Petty and Neil Peart!!!. RIP
