2002 was a pretty lousy year for Wimbledon imo...Sampras was on the way out, Agassi was no longer a threat, Federer had yet to fully hit his stride and Henman bottled it as usual. Hewitt was a worthy champion but would have struggled to win it any other year
Even though the grass had slowed down by 2002, it’s somehow still lightning quick compared to today’s Wimbledon courts!
