I followed these guys for over 25 years.Caught them when I was in San Fran, Chicago, LA and even Indianapolis, I think it was. This band was THE BEST blues band on the planet and the incredible thing was that you could stand 10 feet from little Charlie and watch him play. Have no idea why they never became huge. They were so incredible. I am so glad that they were a part of my life. We (my spouse and friends) think of them often.
Saw them at Iron Horse in Mass whenever they came to town. Rick Estrin is the best harp player you will ever see. Charlie was the most exciting live guitar player, and Rick the wildest, funniest harp player I have ever seen in over 50 years watching different bands. AND, they were very nice afterwards and talked to me like they knew me for years. Great show. Wish I could see them now, but I am sure they are retired.
Ahh YES, used to see these guys at Malarkey's in Sacramento in the 80s. Batty was solid as a rock and Estrin lighting the place up with his magic. Cool guy to talk with and he always wore the coolest threads(still does dress cool) Parked his big ole Caddy right by the front door. The band is now Rick Estrin and the Nightcats, better than ever!!
The boys played regularly at J&J's Blues Bar, Fort Worth, Texas, when I bartended back in the 90's. Always a packed house and big fun! RIP Charlie, best of everything to Rick and the rest of the band. Thanks for the memories, and the $$$!❤
Just want to say thank you for this upload ! I catch there concert whenever they come to the Twin Cities Minnesota . It is my all-time most favorite boogie blues band ever . Nobody can compete to Rick and Charlie's high energize stage performances .
