American Learns Fluent Spanish in 15 Days, Shocks Native Speakers

  • Today is my third week of learning Spanish (15 days total study time) and I logged onto Spanish Omegle and VRChat to test my Spanish. I definitely managed to impress some native speakers, which was really cool! My Spanish is far from perfect but I’m at a level now where I can speak fluently about a lot of topics - I haven’t learned this language to the point where I can talk comfortably about nuclear physics, but I’m pretty surprised by how much progress you can make by focusing exclusively on practicing speaking. It’s pretty amazing what you can do with an Internet connection during quarantine!

    Learning Spanish through Stories?
The course I used initially to give me a good foundation in Spanish was called “Spanish Uncovered” by the polyglot Olly Richards, which is a way to learn Spanish naturally through stories. I really enjoyed it, and it seems to be an excellent way to get a good foundation in a new language. bit.ly/3pPB0we

HOLY SHIT!! Xiaoma is a language learning BEAST!! I'm so damn impressed! I'm a native Texan and learned Spanish as my 2nd of 5 languages I speak now (English, Spanish, Russian, German, and Czech). Your pronunciation and flow is amazing for just 3 weeks of study....you are a true inspiration for me with my own language learning journey (I'm juggling lessons in both Czech & Russian with different instructors via italki & Skype)...

Average Aufa EXACTLY what I was about to post!! He’s frickin’ amazing at language learning! AND... it’s totally possible for ANYONE of us too! I’m also learning Spanish, beginning at around the same time as Xiaoma. The difference is, he’s doing it all day long, which I’m not. I think anybody with his dedication and the right strategy, along with the courage to let it all out there, warts and all, can do it. So XiaomaNYC... keep doing your thing, you’re such an inspiration! I’m following along!

Don't blame yourself, blame the system. The system tells you it takes years to learn; you can't learn a new language past a certain age; you have to do this, you have to do that; yadda yadda yadda... which is why the system is literally crumbling as we speak. Take control of your own life and decide for yourself how long it's gonna take to do whatever it is you want to do cause ultimately it is up to you.

You are doing an excellent job for just 3 weeks of practice with Spanish its outstanding. I don't think i can learn more languages other than English and Spanish. I had trouble learning Spanish so for you to actually have an actual conversation in 3 weeks it's just perfect 👌keep it going 😉👏👏👏
