- This is a video that breaks down the method I used to achieve basic fluency in Spanish in 44 days. I took Spanish in High School over a decade ago so my Spanish knowledge was very basic. This video includes several tips and exercises that you can incorporate into your own language learning routine.
I created a similar method to learn French. Check it out HERE 👉🏼 • How I Got Fluent In Fr...

As one of the few Hispanics that did NOT grow up learning Spanish from my parents, thank you for creating this language learning method
Similar for me. Well, I wasn't formally taught but have some knowledge. I speak like a half assed broken Spanish. Not the best but I can still communicate. But this vid should help me polish it up and hopefully reach a higher level.
Me too..
There’s more pressure for us to learn. As well as more shame for not knowing when it’s not our fault. Pero podemos hacerlo. Les recomiendo a todos que hagan este método, y si tienen tiempo, entonces asistan clases con Spanish Sin Peña. He mejorado mucho y también pueden
For me I have the accent it just its very broken
The Spanish language is spoken and written with two types of articles that are called definite articles and indeterminate articles or, also, definite and indefinite articles (el, la, los, las, un, una, unas,unos....
This is the secret for spanish trust me
And then you learn that ,You need to learn this
The three types of accents in Spanish words
"Agudas" "graves" "esdrújulas"
Once you learn to use articles and accents, you can start creating phrases faster than light.
This guy is the epitome of decipline and dedication 🙏🏾
You're too kind. Thanks man!
This is a scam lmao
@@scumfuckflami Yes, I think that's obvious, he's speaking with a good accent since the first day
@@Edu-bx2nv he wouldve had to learn them regardless but it doesnt look like he knew this one, the pronounciation and accent are a bit off
I mean he did show he took Spanish courses at the high school level
When you have even a basic knowledge of a language from the past, it’s not the same as learning a language from scratch so people shouldn’t get discouraged if they don’t learn a language at this speed. He’s already got a head start. Even when you don’t think you remember anything from school, it’s amazing how much pops into your head once you begin being exposed to the language again.
And it'd just as amazing how bad your language ability can be after so many years of disuse - yep - agree!
That's what I was thinking watching this. I appreciate the tips but "4 years of spanish in high school, one in college and a month of independent study" isn't even close to the same as learning the language in 44 days.
@@edlrocks12591 My thoughts. I saw his day 1 and day 5 and was amazed at how much he understood grammar , the basics of building sentences etc. After one day in any NEW language, I would not be able to build sentences, merely parrot them.
I find this to be very clickbaity. 30 years ago I did 3 years of french in junior school. I can still say a few sentences and understand the structure of the language. Give me a couple of months of intensive training and I believe I can be, if not fluent, passable.
And French (a language he was previously fluent in) also has many similar terms and sentence structure. This is absolutely not learning from scratch.
You're discrediting that he spent 8hrs+ a day for 44 days, that's 300+ hours... Most people haven't spent that much time on the language in 1 year of learning
8 hrs/day for 44 days = 352 hrs
352 hrs * 60 min/hr = 21,120 min
This man put in some WORK.
There’s really no shortcuts to learning a language. It simply takes time, repetition, and practice. 8hrs/day for 44 days is basically equivalent to 1hr/day for a whole year. He had the dedication to sit down and consistently build his skills for 8 hrs a day consecutively. Simple as that. Props brother.
or rather he had the time
Yes, but let us be honest with ourselves: could we put in two hours a day if it really mattered? Having looked at my own screen time on my phone, I could certainly be doing something more productive with those hours.
He also had the money to be able to do this? Because who can do this when they have work or school or both?
352 hrs tho isn’t enough for most people to become fluent average person takes closer to 500+ some can take 2000
@@protyper9861 He already learned French and Italian. Usually people who know those can learn spanish in give or take 500 hours if done efficiently
I love how he describes his process and method in detail. He's not just saying "With motivation, you can do it too!" He's actually giving people like me guidance on how to learn :) Respect, man!
I know i respect it
Or go to some random site for this extremely good deal that is only good for the next 24 hours!!
Fr!! :)
The best way possible way you describe this man
Absolutely! I love the Ted talk hack. I follow language tutors on RUclips, but I like his method of learning within context much better!
The technique of learning all the words in one video and listening to it until you know it as well as english is genius. Your the only person I've seen talk about that. I started approaching my Spanish learning that way and it's a game changer
late comment but yeah fluency is when you can recall a word through abstract thought without necessarily having to translate it in your head
It makes it so much easier , you can learn hundreds of words and how they’re used and pronounced in a short amount of time . I have no clue why no one else has ever mentioned it before
I wonder if this would work a similar way with songs? I met a Costa Rican guy who said he learned English really young by listening to a bunch of English songs and trying to understand them with transcripts.
I was wondering if you can use songs or Netflix
That’s exactly how it’s done in many universities, via the Destinos series.
Watched this video for the first time about a year ago and it completely changed the way I was studying Spanish. I was not able to dedicate 8 hours a day but I was able to incorporate a bit of what he taught everyday. 1-3 hours daily. I was disciplined and consistent.
I’m fluent in Spanish now and can express myself very well. I’m at the point now where my learning mostly comes from reading books in Spanish, listening to podcast and conversations with native speakers (tutors and friends) but I still revisit some of the techniques he taught me. I can confidently say that without this structured study plan in the beginning of my journey I would not have arrived where I am today. The speaking exercise truly prepared me to begin practicing with native speakers without fear.
I can’t thank you enough for sharing your wisdom, Cameron. I’m taking the DELE later this year (C1) but after that I will begin learning Portuguese and I’m going to start with this method from the very beginning.
Hello could you please tell me exactly what you did? I'm trying to apply the method in the video but I'm not sure where to start
I’m glad you came back and gave an update. I’m going to try this method as well and it’s good hearing others feedback. Good luck with Portuguese.

"Work smarter, not harder" stops being true when you encounter someone smart who works hard too. This video does a great job at not only laying out a learning system but also of showcasing the mentality necessary to accomplish any difficult goal. Thank you for this guidance and encouragement!
This is an amazing achievement! However, if you've never exposed your mind to a language at all, please don't be discouraged if you do not achieve the same results in this short time frame. Learning a language is a life long journey and it always starts with a single step. Stay committed and conisistent to the vision you have for yourself and one day you'll realize that all that work has paid off an you are able to speak fluently!
I’ve watched one half of this video and I am lost. I’m spending a month in Spain next year with the hope of moving there in ‘24. Watching this, it seems like I’m facing a mountain that I won’t be able to climb. I wonder if it would just be better to hire a tutor. I’d love to hear from someone who has learned conversational Spanish in one year, if that is even doable.
@@yankee58100 honestly, I don't know about that... I mean, I'm planning to learn Spanish later on this year, but haven't started yet. I can't really tell you whether "fluency" is an achievable goal or not (after all, "fluent" has kinda become an umbrella term meaning both nothing and everything at the same time). What I can say is that the video clearly shows it's possible to achieve "conversational fluency" in way less than a year, but ONLY if you're willing to put in a crazy amount of time and effort. The FSI estimates you'd need around 500h of intensive training to reach fluency in lvl1 languages (such as Spanish, French, catalan, Italian etc)... The guy in the video said he worked around 8-12h/d (tot 380-440h) on his Spanish to reach this level in just over a month...
Ps. I'll try to replicate the process changing it and twisting it to better suit my one life/interests/goals, but I'm pretty confident saying that any time you put into language learning is time well spent and that it will pay off later on
(if you've read so far and were able to understand my comment... Well, English is an L2 for me, my L1 is Italian, so... Yeah... It's doable, and even if we as language learners will never get to be as "proficient" as natives... Who cares!!! :D)
@@yankee58100 I have been learning Spanish for a year. I don’t feel that fluent but I do understand most of what I hear. My advice for you is to do as much listening as you can. Speaking and writing practice is important but the more you can listen to Spanish, the better you’ll get (and bonus, if you don’t have all the time in the world to study you can still listen to things in the background). Don’t give up hope, you have a good chunk of time here!
@@rebekahblesi7526, thanks. I’m taking in person lessons as well as online lessons. It’s going really well. I’m hoping that by the time we head off to Spain next year, I will have a very basic start on the language that will help me to interact with Spanish-speaking people.
@@peterburnash6929 Definitely! The more you work at it, the better you’ll get!
Me at Day 1: "Uh, hola. Como estás? Um, gracias. Errr...adiós."
Me at Day 44: "Hola. Como estás? Gracias. Adiós."
As you can see, I got rid of all the filler words like "Um, uh, err....". That's progress.
Hahahah keep it up!
wtf. youtube just integrated translations... i can see it with this comment
@@laur-unstagenameactuallyca1587 …what?
😂
@@laurenstewart5707 the statement is pretty clear
He says that he had four years of spanish in high school, so this really wasn’t just 44 days. He was remembering what he had previously learned.
That’s true, but not completely. I had 4 years of Spanish in high school too (over 20 years ago now), and I reached a decent level of listening and reading comprehension and had a decent accent. But having actual conversations with real people isn’t something that I had a ton of experience with. So, although I could say a lot of things I wanted to talk about, I wouldn’t say that I was fluent. Now I’ve forgotten a lot of what I learned, but if I started learning again, my foundation from before would definitely be a HUGE boost. But to reach fluency, I would need to go beyond where I was before. And if I studied 8 hours a day (like this guy), I could reach a decent conversational level in 44 days too. But I don’t have the time, money, or motivation for that.
Clickbait titles like this get views. It's too bad because it's a cool video and the title sours the overall impression.
@@davidkeithbecket I mean he did the same thing with french having never studied french
My goal is to learn Spanish in a year.. seeing you did it in under two months tells me I need to set higher expectations for myself! Thanks for this info, I want to incorporate some of these methods. 💪🏾
Bro smae
how is it going at the moment?
Set your own goals. Set specific goals. Don't just say I'll be fluent in a year
be realistic so you wont be disappointed in a year is hard but ofc its possible
He did not do this in two month the Mf been learning for years
As a language freak myself, I've been learning languages for years with the same goal as yours and have to say that I'm highly impressed by your method. Your approach seems to be smart, efficient and massively rewarding and yet, I had never came across your way while trying to emulate other polyglots routine. Respect
@Lyrics and Movies Sure. I have always been fascinated by the theoretical aspect of things, so when it comes to languages, I tend to focus a lot more on grammar and have an approach that could be described as mathematical. Since the age of 12 I have been spending part of my free time doing comparative grammar. For the same reasons I also use the bidirectional translation method of Luca Lampariello. Also, as I love reading, I practice on a daily basis intensive and extensive reading. The results are pretty satisfying on the long run but I am aware that it is not a natural way to learn languages. The method applied in this video seems to be quicker and more holistic, and I can see myself using it if I had a short amount of time to learn, that is for example before traveling.
AMAZING

@@briAgu55 Thanks for your message! I will be posting updates on my channel "brianopolis" and I will be self-publishing something late spring I believe. It was quite a ride. It was the fall of 1996 and I saw on the morning news reports about Cuban refugees flooding into Miami - the "balseros" - and about how Miami Beach was going through a revival of sorts with tons of Europeans coming there as part of the fashion scene. So I dropped out of college and headed south. I got a job as a waiter, bought a bilingual dictionary and phrase book, and I then I had to just ask people at work or people I met on the streets or cafes or bars or wherever to help me with my pronunciation and to understand the more complex problems I encountered with the language. Now, of course, the Latin culture has spread immeasurably since that time and it is no longer necessary to go to a place like Miami to meet people. I think you'll like the book. It's a memoiresque how-to book on self-guided immersion experiences here in the U.S.

This is not just a great video on learning how to speak Spanish, but also a great video on how difficult things can be achieved with a good plan. 44 days to become native in Spanish is insane but seeing how you break it down it made sense why you were able to achieve that.
I agree with the point you are trying to make, but for the sake of clarification, he did NOT achieve native-level fluency in 44 days. In fact, that's not even possible unless you have an eidetic memory. The 44 days were what it took for him to essentially develop a baseline level of "conversational fluency" and from there is where he began pursuing native level (which takes a long time). He makes this clear around 9:50, but he probably should have made it more clear throughout the vid.
Either way, it's impressive, and reality doesn't take away from that. It's just good to set realistic expectations for people because the majority would not achieve anywhere near these results.

I think this really shows how the resources we have access to (youtube, duolingo, being able to talk with natives online) can really improve the learning process so much compared to the traditional method of study. Really great video.
I did feel a bit misled by the title when you said you had 4 years high school classes plus college and individual study already under your belt tbh, but I get that clickbaity titles etc. are part of the youtube game.
I'd agree, but how much does anyone really remember from high school rote memorisation? I do think it gives a bit of an edge, but anyone using this much repitition is going to see improvement if they stick to it.
@@kathr0s same. I had to brush up on my Spanish.. my basic Spanish from high school with duo lingo lol.
I agree, but I studied spanish at university and I remember the first day I arrived in latin america I couldn't remember a single word.
dude. I have all of secondary school German under my belt and remember NOTHING. in my case it was only 5 years ago. His was OVER a DECADE ago.
Language learning in school is rubbish!
I learned more spanish watching Telenovelas than I did in school
I've been doing pretty well so far using various methods, but knowing the way my brain works, I cannot wait to hit the ground running with your methods and techniques. You're amazing! I'll report back in a couple of months with an update.
Fascinating and impressive to say the least. Super motivating video, now I'm hyped even more to try n learn Japanese. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and wisdom!
Very cool! I appreciate all of the transparency in your video, especially where you point out you have the ability to devote 8 to 12 hrs/day to studying. This is great
You've motivated me to brush up on my Spanish after years.
Dude this was amazing! Definitely going to steal your 10x10 method for improving my accent. Love the double-dipping where you choose videos in a topic you care about like videography.
This is pure excellence! *Incredibly* impressive and well done. Thank you so much for sharing your exact method! This will be my blueprint! THANK YOU
Bro made the best video ever on Spanish and dipped
Hey mate, I found your channel a few months back and have been using a lot of your practice exercises to learn Vietnamese. Really great work on the videos, cool production, and overall great vibe in each one. I was scared you were only going to make the ones for French, super stoked to see another one today! Keep up the quality content, lots of respect for what're you're doing now 🔥 🔥 🔥
Thank you for the practical steps! I have a sketchy background in Spanish and never really understood a lot of how to speak it. Now I have a plan to follow. I don't have 8 hours/day as I work full time, but I hope to stick with it and eventually get there. Thanks again!
Wow. The process is so clear it should be taught in schools. Big ups 💯💯💯💯
I've been feeling stuck in my Spanish learning lately. I love the video and the insight. I'm going to try your method to try to break past my block. Thank you. Looking forward to more content.
I just started learning Español 2 days ago, glad to found that you posted new vid about it 😆
I like your methods. Thank you for making a short video and not an hour long video.
LA FORMA EN QUE PRONUNCIASTE PERSONAS, FUE PERFECTA!
Es asombroso... Great...
Absolutely amazing video! What a great job on the video and breaking down the learning process that you outlined for yourself. I'm definitely going to use some of your techniques but at a slower pace. Much respect though, just AWESOME! Thank you for putting this together. As a youtuber myself, I totally appreciate the work and organization it took to share this.
I think the Adderall prescription runs out and then you just stop
Excelente video, saludos hermano.
Thank YOU!!!!! You're helping this old man learn new tricks.
Your accent is spot on, props to you. Subjunctive, por vs para, and a few other conjugations have been my hardest obstacles
Wow amazing commitment and organization for a language learning program! I taught myself over quarantine but your programming is next level! Ive been learning Castilian Spanish specifically from Spain over the last year. Im at relatively intermediate level and can speak with natives but I honestly will incorporate this routine to see how i can get past a sticking point and expand my learning ability.👍
Inspiring. I need to pop this on before each practice session. I've been studying Spanish 2 years and I feel like I hit a wall (I've been stuck at your day 22 for a year, lol). Most of my issue is discipline, but your methods are so diverse and I can't wait to try them.
Same! I feel like I hit a wall-but I am determined to get back at it. I feel like half the battle is, like you said, discipline! Sticking to the methods he suggested in the video will be fool proof.
Day 22 for a year 😂 . I get it,
Cómo vas con tu español? XD
Update?
soy español xd, te deseo suerte para lograrlo hermano
Amazing video! You work very hard to get to that level. I've also been trying to be bilingual for a while but I found your video very helpful because I've never had a study plan before, and I am definitely going to implement all the things that you said daily to get better at English. Thanks for the video, and keep up the good work!!
I’ve been looking for videos to help me learn Italian in a practical, realistic way. This is fuuucking brilliant!
i’m so happy your back!!
😊 Thanks. Back with a vengeance lol
This is amazing, I'm using your 10x10 method for learning Japanese! I've learned the basics of it in around one week, using Duolingo, RUclips videos, and more to help me learn the basics. I am currently learning how to conjugate in Japanese, this is very helpful. ありがとうございます。💜
hows it going?
@@rayne1704 utter failure. This video is a lie.
私も日本語を勉強すります! これは大丈夫ですか? I tried my best to ask how's it going lol, but I also am studying Japanese, nice! It can be quite a struggle for me, especially with kanji
@@dimwitteddingo I think it’s more naturally 勉強しています. Been learning Japanese for a year in my spare time so I could be wrong
@@George-hu9rf oh, thanks : ), I quit studying for while due to health reasons, so I am pretty rusty lol
You put in the work you got the result that described everything, respect man thanks for a great video and not just a silly clickbait title and no content
Gracias Senior... May the journey to whatever you do be granted by the universe
