Hi Jerry your video was very through on the process you took. Can you please list the resources you used like websites, apps, books for grammar and writing. Also maybe even your Spanish music playlist if you don’t mind sharing.
I like how you put “NOT in 30 days” acknowledging how some people act like they can just be fluent in a language in like one month. I’ve been learning Spanish for a whole year and can barely hold a conversation in it.
It's super hard to master a different language. They say to master something it takes 500 hours of practice, which is approximately 21 straight days. You would have to dedicate 16 hours a day to it at the minimum
Haha I know two languages- Mandarin & Japanese( functional) and I now live in Mexico less than a year and I speak broken Spanish..and I don’t understand it well when they start talking fast lol..but I think that ppl that pick it up fast are ppl that has studied it before in school or something..or they know similar languages but they dnt tell you that lol.
As a Hispanic man raised listening to my mom talk to me in Spanish and I answered in English....and I thought I was well spoken in Spanish until going to the Caribbeans ....😅😅😅I understand almost all I was told but couldn't respond with any fluent understanding.....Now I'm determined to speak Spanish fluently....
I am Mexican-American, fluent in both languages, and I have been an ESL teacher for half of my life, passionate about teaching people to speak English for their careers or personal interest. Not so long ago, I convinced myself to start teaching Spanish on the side. It hasn't been easy. I guess what I am trying to say is that after watching your video and listening to you talk about your heartfelt experience as a Spanish student, you reminded me of why I love what I do. Thinking back on the 20+ years as an ESL teacher, I have only met one person with the genuine self-motivation to learn English driven by the love for the language and the cultures like you. I feel that I should have met more people with your enthusiasm for learning a new language. I admire and congratulate you on your success in achieving your dream. You have inspired me to continue teaching Spanish and maybe, to instill in my Spanish students the desire to learn as I do with my ESL students. Thank you!
Thank you for the kind note 🙏🏽 I think a lot of systems push people to start learning languages without first helping them fall in love with the process, so it’s not hard to imagine how you might end up with classes full of people whose hearts are not in it. But I can confidently say that there are lots of us that adore languages, have a lot of love for the cultures and people, and are committed to the process of learning. Those are the kinds of people I really enjoy surrounding myself with. Sending my best to you and your students. Un gran saludo desde Nueva York 👋🏽
I too would like to add that in school we are told that it is a required class, so no one really takes it seriously because it was a genuine selection. As an African American woman, I would say at least from my demographic, you would almost have to sell it to us on why it would be beneficial. Not sure of the age you teach, but middle and up, you can tell them the benefits of the career opportunities and such. Now in my 30s, I am trying to learn it. You can also touch on changing the narrative for our demographic by saying that “you too can be bilingual.” Interactive games of conversation and role play with props may help. Make it fun! I wanted to learn in school but they made it so boring it was like whatever. A lot of students would skip the class and still pass. I was an honor roll student btw. Many teachers don’t have their heart in it so I salute to you and hope things get better.
As im growing a very die hard interest in learning spanish as im self taught from.duolungo and youtube and im preety confused due to lack of best teaching what would you suggest me to be fluent in spanish
I will be 71 in 3 weeks. I recently started studying German. I’m a native English speaker as well as an intermediate French speaker. You are so CORRECT! If you don’t love it, you will struggle and struggle. I spoke to myself so much in French that I often have a conversation in my head in French and I have also dreamed in French. I’m too old to make much practical use of anything in my sphere of influence but I do run across opportunities. I was very shy, or anxious is a better word for it, to just join in and start a chat when I was younger and self concise. Now I DON”T CARE if I make a fool of myself because it’s FUN! And that my friends is what keeps me going. I plan on adding other languages to my repertoire. Thanks for your candid video.
This is what it’s all about! 🙌🏽 Building a love for the language first makes all the rest much easier. I’m sure life will present you some opportunities to put your languages to use, and you can always go seek out opportunities yourself or speak them for you. Making mistakes? Good! That’s what learning is all about 🙌🏽 Congrats on the French (and rooting for your German as well). - A fellow language lover 🙏🏽
I've been working on my Spanish off and on for some time now because I wanted to retire to a Spanish speaking country. Well I'm here now, living in Argentina and still struggling. I'm amazed on how overwhelmed and lazy my brain can become; I want to learn it so badly I can taste it. I've heard the older you are the more difficult it is to learn a new language, but I don't believe that. If you really want something you must commit yourself. Thanks for the learning tips, some of them I've heard before but they are good to hear again especially when you've fallen off the horse as I have lately. Time to get back on.
I agree with you-I don’t buy the antics of “too old to learn a language” either. You’ve got this 🙏🏽 If you’re in Argentina long-term, that’s a golden opportunity. Why don’t you try the no-English language pledge that I did in Spain? It’ll be hard for a few weeks/early months, but it’s unbelievably cool when you see your brain finally start to “get it”. Can’t wait for you to be trailing through Argentina in full Spanish 🚀
8:13 I studied language acquisition and developmental psych etc ..and self-talk is also a big part of how we all learned our native languages as children. We tend to forget we did this
@@JerryRegistre I think it was Lev Vytgotsky who researched self-talk. If you watch a young child playing, they tend to mumble to themselves.. narrating their pretend play. They’ll practice new vocabulary and phrases this way
Super helpful! My husband is Mexican and he's learning English while I learn Spanish. We are focusing more on his English and immersing him in it because he lives and works here in the US but I try to pick up Spanish. It's not been easy, even living with a native speaker, so I appreciate your insights!
I believe it's easy, it's only a language barrier not a brick wall :-) So I wouldn't see it as hard because he is your husband, yall got through barriers before marriage right? It's great to see you two helping each other. I decided yesterday to start self learning Spanish. Over the years of course I have bits and pieces of the language but i don't speak it because if it' said back, I only catch some if any at all the words lol. Don't want to be one of those Americans that patronizes the language to test with others then laugh it off, it's trashy and disrespectful. But anyways God bless you both! You two WILL win
Just curious, do you guys speak a common third language? If not, how did you manage to develop your relationship. No negative intent, just wanting to understand. Thanks for any insight you can provide.
Keep at it, you’ll both get better over time. I am living the same scenario. My wife is from Mexico and my native language is English. She spoke very basic English when we met, and my Spanish was mediocre at best. Fast forward 17 years….I’m still not fluent but more functional and her English, while not perfect is much better…though she still struggles with some words (like world vs word)… Both of our kids are fluent in Spanish because my wife has always primarily used Spanish with them at home.
I started learning my second language in 2019, and I'm now fluent in that language and am getting close to an advanced level. I plan to start learning Spanish in July as my third language. I intend to travel to South America at the end of 2024, so I want to learn enough Spanish over 18 months to be able to have some meaningful conversations with native Spanish speakers. Thanks for the resource tips, bro.
Really excited for you and your Spanish journey🙏🏽 . I hate being cliche, but learning Spanish has changed the course of my life, and it's easily one of the decisions I'm most happy I made in recent memory. Fair warning: you might find a country in South America that you don't want to leave!
If you need help or someone to talk to, you can tell me and we can get in touch, that way I can practice my English and you can improve your Spanish :)
Fellow Haitian here 🙋🏾♀️! My dad was fluent in Spanish and French but never taught me. Grew up in Miami and had to take Spanish from elementary up to grade 12. Went to college took SPN 1 & 2. Worked with Hispanics for years And still struggle to learn. So I’m so happy I came across your video. I’m also trying to learn several other languages in addition to Spanish.
Excellent summary of the keys to becoming fluent in a second language. What I like most is that, unlike many language instructors on RUclips, Jerry doesn't ditch studying grammar in favor of just learning phrases and being immersed in the new language. Grammar, syntax, vocabulary...these alone don't get you anywhere close to fluent, but they do provide a solid foundation for understanding those phrases and participating in conversations with confidence.
Very much appreciate the comment, Frank 🙏🏽 The grammar basics don’t make the language or grant fluency, but they gave me a solid base to build off. Well put.
This is the most honest, straightforward and concise advice I have ever seen about language learning on YT. Thank you for your positive attitude and realistic tips.
Thanks for the kind comment. I wanted to take out the bells and whistles for this video and just share what worked for me. I’m glad this is helpful to others 🙏🏽
@@JerryRegistrewhy do You put becoming fluent in 30 days in title of video . ? Then go on to explain You we're exposed to spanish since Childhood , clases in middle school , Harvard , going abroad . So why put learn in 30 days which doesnt show integrity or truth . Otherwise good job and effort . My only question is lack of integrity in titles worth the views on RUclips and other social media platforms ??
I’m Afrohispanic and my family stopped speaking Spanish after my grandmother died. But , 3 out of 5 of my kids speak Spanish fluently. I remember some of it but it’s hard to relearn it than to start from zero. My girlfriend speaks fluently but I find it hard to learn from her. I’m going to try these tools you’ve mentioned and I’ll let you know how it goes
Let’s go! I have tons of Latino friends that are learning Spanish as adults now. You’re in good company, and you can definitely pull it off. Rooting for you! 🙏🏽🚀
That's great to hear keep it up! If I could offer a quick suggestion the term "Hispanic" refers to a person that speaks Spanish regardless of race. This is why someone from Equatorial Guinea (African Country) and Spain can both say they're Hispanic. Maybe "Afro-Latino" is a better term? Latino implies someone with Iberian (Spain-Portugal), Mezo-American (Pre-Colonial), and African roots. A person from Brazil can identify as "Latino" but not "Hispanic." All this to say, its not a big deal!! Keep learing. Buena Suerte (good luck) my Hispanic brother!!
@idenou9577 small note, latino is just someone from Latin America. Doesn't have anything to do with spain or Africa. So an afrolatino is someone with African and Latin American heritage. Spanish would refer to Spain, and as you said, Hispanic is just spanish speaking in general
@@NazraT1704actually being Latino/a is someone who is a descendant of French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spain. And all the other European Latin countries. Being Latin is not a race. It’s language and culture. Like ppl with Louisiana creole roots are Latino/a and Haitian Creole are latino/a too. Look at beyonce…..she is Latina .
@jazziejay0918 no: "Hispanic refers to a person with ancestry from a country whose primary language is Spanish. Latino and its variations refer to a person with origins from anywhere in Latin America (Mexico, South and Central America) and the Caribbean." From Dukedotedu The Latin in latino refers to Latin America, not all the languages based on Latin. French people are French, not latino. Literally have never heard anyone else think that And Beyonce is a mix of African, Native American and French and calls herself black. So again, no, not a Latina And I agree, being latino isn't a race, it's an ethnicity
this is literally the most cohesive/realistic video I have seen about learning spanish!! with exactly the resources i need. i am a level B2/C1 and have been really struggling to find videos about realistic improving advice, not "30 days I learned spanish". muchas gracias por toda su ayuda tio!!!
I love EVERYTHING about this comment 🙏🏽🥳 This is exactly what I had in mind when I was making this video. The “30 day” type of videos almost pushed me to quit when I was younger, so I vowed to flip the script and be real if I made it to where I am now. B2/C1 is also sweet spot! Advanced enough to enjoy using your Spanish with others, and a strong enough foundation that you feel ready to pour vocab, idioms, and the little nuances of the language on top of what you know to shoot from advanced to near native. Excited for you! I have ~2 videos on the C2 exam that you might like
This is a great video. I usually cringe at 'How I got fluent...' videos because most people are maybe B1 and just want to put out clickbait. This shows a real roadmap on how to get there with some great advice. Great job getting to C2!
Thank you! The way I am, I wanted to feel like I put the elbow grease in and got to a high level first before I started sharing advice; the guilt would eat me alive otherwise 😆. Best wishes in your journey! The work it took to get here has been worth it tenfold 🙏🏽
I love this. I am also Haitian on the road to learning Arabic. It is a beautiful but complex language. May God reward you for sharing these helpful tips. Thank you.
(Spanish teacher here) Some people are talented in listening and learn quicker, some are highly motivated like I was. At age 35, I went from zero to Masters degree in two years. I alway sought out latinos to practice with, still do. Good for you!

You've done an amazing job at creating effective systems to elevate your Spanish skills, bravo! I grew up speaking Spanish but now primarily only speak English. By adopting some of your systems I'm hoping to increase my fluency.

I’m Haitian too and wanting to learn Spanish so badly since I’m originally from Miami and have fam in DR but mostly as a hospital worker many of my patients speak only Spanish. Thanks for the advice.
You earned a new subscriber extremely quickly with this video. I took Spanish in school for 7 years, fell in love with it, and still can only speak/understand at a very basic level. I’m picking up now and want to finally become comfortable in the language. Thank you for the effort you have put into helping people by sharing your story!!! Amazing!!
This is one of the most helpful/tips videos I think I've ever seen, outstanding tips to help those of us who've found ourselves stagnant with improving Spanish language skills... Thanks a million...
Fellow Haitian here. I'm struggling with Spanish now and I live in a Spanish speaking country. This is a great video with great information. Thank you.
Thanks for the kind words, friend 🙏🏽 I fully agree with you - this stuff isn't "easy" in the sense that it does take work, but I wanted to share that it's been worth all the effort for me
NEW F SUBSCRIBER, Soy de Costa Rica pero vivo en Miami hace 6 años, this is what sharing and caring for other cultures should be, nothing wrong with falling in love with other cultures, holding yours closest to your heart... have a lot of Haitians co-workers, and they are nothing but nice people, keep doing what you're doing, God bless hermano, pura vida.
Gracias de todo corazón hermano 🙏🏽 Aprender este bello idioma me ha achicado el mundo un poco y ha sido un verdadero placer poder conocer a tanta gente y tantas culturas.
Took years of spanish in middle and high school, very little stayed with me. Took again in my 40s in college and finally made some progress that stuck, but still not enough to be *fully* conversational. That's even after taking all the levels my college offered before straight teaching entire subjects like history solely in Spanish. The things that did stick came from practice w/ correction/feedback and spandict as you mentioned. Also, listening to spanish radio (I live in TX) and reading spanish newspapers and looking up parts of sentences I didn't understand. I can read now better than I can "hear" or speak because I can slow it down in my head. But I'm going to use your resources to continue my journey. I had mostly given up on getting much better since I don't have anyone to converse with in Spanish very often. Saw your other video and I'm already in awe using ChatGPT with voice to practice. Mind blowing. I may yet get this life goal of full conversational fluency leveled up. Thank you!
YOU’VE GOT THIS! I mentioned how frustrated I got when I had gone through all the school classes and still felt like I couldn’t hold a conversation. But that period of intensive Spanish where I spoke everyday for 6 months in Spain really locked it in for me, and I finally started considering myself a Spanish teacher. And now tech like ChatGPT and VR make it possible to practice speaking every day right at home. I’ll keep finding ways to combine tech to make conversation practice easier (I may build a platform if I don’t find what I’m looking for). But I’m so sure you’re going to nail this. Cheering you on 🥳🙏🏽

This was really helpful, Jerry. Gracias! I am 56 and moved to Mexico in 2023 in part to (finally) learn my mother's language. I thought I would pick it up so easily but it's been quite a struggle. My older brain struggles to absorb the vocabulary and the town I live in is very touristy and it's easy to get away with English here. My goal is to be able to sit down and have a conversation en español con mis primos un día. Thank you for the content, and the very realistic portrayal of the difficulty of learning a language.
Thanks for the learning tips. I've heard some of them before but it's good to hear them again especially when you've fallen off the horse, as I have lately.
The good news is you can always get back on! 🙏🏽 I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Some of the advice is simple and straightforward, but these basics did the trick for me
Young Creole going places... I like that. From another old Creole (Gwada), born in Paris (French), living in London (Got my C2 English, not hard after 20 yrs) and now trying to learn Thai and I like your methods. You got one more sub.
Hey man, how are you doing? Your journey is fascinating. I’m Haitian. My love for Spanish hasn’t stopped growing. I moved to the states 8 months ago, and my encounter with Latinos has increased my love for the language and the culture. For the past few weeks, I have been deeply thinking about my skills, my passions and hobbies so I could give my life a direction. But, it resulted in getting me depressed and feeling hopeless. I couldn’t find anything at all. But, out of the blue, I bumped into this video and ,instantly, it made me realize that what have been looking for the whole time was actually hidden in plain sight. Language is my thing. I manage to learn English while facing all the challenges, and lack of ressources of Haiti. I started learning Spanish in Haiti(I have high-intermediate level). I mastered French and creole(my mother tongue). Your story inspired me. Now, I want to start a channel and share my story, passion and love for languages. The problem is, I have no experience whatsoever. I don’t where and how to start. I don’t know what materials I need to start. I have some savings, I’m ready to make the jump and invest in this quest. I have nothing to lose. Success or failure I’m ready to make the jump. Please help me. Please!!!🇭🇹
Thanks for another great video, Jerry! This one is not just inspiring, but it has practical ideas for learning any language. No one size fits all approach, and no "magical shortcuts". Instead you deliver a message that language learning grows from the inner desire to learn. You show that it's possible! And what's also great is that your other videos show so many incredible tools that are available now that AI (like ChatGPT) can be such a powerful language learning partner.
Thank you, Tom! I think the “how” can take shape in many ways, but they “why” is often the missing piece. I hope this helps learners! And you’re spot on. Rarely do I get very interested in new language tools, since I think the basics take you far, but I have a lot of hope that AI and VR will make marked a difference in helping people learn languages faster.
What an incredible journey you've had, I speak Igbo, French and English fluently and i've started to learn Portuguese it's honestly hard for me to learn and pronounce the words and i don't feel the drive to continue at all with Portuguese
this is the type of dedication I need IN EVERYTHING FOR MY LIFE lol sheeesh this guy went in ... took it from 1 level to another everytime he hit a roadblock .. Sir you have made me proud
I’ve been learning Spanish for 10 months now and am comfortable and conversational in public, but am hitting that wall where I need to organize my learning structure to advance. The absolute passion and deep desire to learn, you mentioned in this video is what fuels me. One of the biggest things that helps me is the self talk (ALL DAY!) just like a toddler or baby does and translate everything!! And journaling is so so so helpful. Thank you so much for your encouraging video!
I am Creole, or Kreol, as we call it in my native Seychelles and I was fascinated to find out a few years ago that I could understand Haitian creole. Thank you for sharing your experience of learning Spanish. I am learning because I have two Spanish nephews and I also because I just love the language!
Your delivery system is impeccable. I too have the desire to learn Spanish. I'm Haitian born too and I have been living in the US for 12 years now. Thanks for this awesome video. You got my subscription.
My fathers side of the family is from Panama and my grandma is my only relative in the US that fluently speaks Spanish and I’ve been making the effort to learn Spanish. Thank you for this video, it definitely inspired me to make more of an effort in ways I haven’t thought of!!
Wow I’m amazed of how fluent you are. I believe the main key to learn a language is the desire to learn. But I’m even more amazed of the fact that you know who the original author of El Rey is. Unlike most ppl including many Hispanics that believe Vicente is.
This was great! Very practical and helpful! I’m in the process of learning Spanish right now . I will definitely implement some of these tips! Thanks for sharing your experience!
I’ve been learning Spanish for 5 years in school and I still know nothing, I’m gonna start doing the things you did especially now that I actually am feeling like learning instead of doing the bare minimum
another tip I find that's very helpful is to try reading numbers you randomly come across, wether in youtube comments or elsewhere, in spanish instead of your native tongue
I love how you took initiative to better yourself. Some people will live in a location for 30+ years and sadly still not know the common mother tongue relative to that region. Knowing various languages will always open up doors and opportunities. I’m learning French currently.
Wow! Congratulations on learning Spanish. I'm a Latina who is bilingual and can read and write in Spanish. And it's easier (in my opinion) to learn a 3rd language once you're bilingual. By God's grace, I have learned French, Italian and German. But what I have learned from you are your tools to learn another language. I'm going to use them to help me keep up with my other languages. Most recently a new co worker, a Latina from Peru also speaks French, Italian, Spanish and English fluently so I get to practice. Thank you for the encouraging video. You're doing an excellent job! P.S. my husband is black and was raised in Cali and most of his friends and neighbors were Hispanic so we grew up listening to Spanish and he can understand me when I speak in Spanish. Lol 😅
Hey sup, I feel you totally man , right now i speak 4 languages with varying levels of fluency but all of them boiled down to immersion. The first foreign language i really had an interest in was Persian and trust me starting was easy but trying to get better at it is so much harder . I can hold conversations and stuff but people can often tell that I'm not a persian native.
The important thing is that you love the language man. As long as you keep it in your life, you’ll find that moment to go all in on it and close any gaps you have. Enjoy the process brother; it’s amazing watching how your brain changes to adjust to the language
i am a Turk and i am fascinated by this language as well. actually i am fascinated nearly all of the latin languages out there. Congratulations on your journey, it's inspiring! You share the same pattern I see in all of my successful students: passion and curiosity for the language. That's the foundation, everything else (tools, methods) are secondary. Thanks for sharing those resources, definitely helpful!
You totally convinced me that whatever you said was going to be valuable right from the start. People always asked me , how to work out. How to start, and how to stay motivated. I always said, the number one ingredient is you have to love it and want it more than anything! Everything else will come inevitably.
thank you very much. Though not learning Spanish I may do so in the future and I will be applying your ideas to other languages and learning pursuits. You were clear concise and disarming with your delivery. A true teacher!
First of all Jerry, sak pa se!!! I am from Brooklyn living near Haitians & Dominicans and like you, I also grew interest in learning the languages spoken around me. That’s how I started listening to Kompa & Bachata. Not so much for Kreyol but for Spanish, I couldn’t really escape it in NYC and I immersed myself in Spanish in Brooklyn. Changed all my music to Spanish music and watching dual lyrics on RUclips and watch telemundo!!! Novelas dominicanas!!!!! This video has been a confirmation for me that I’m on the right track and not actually losing my mind obsessing with this language. Thank you.
This was a great, concise, well organized and informed video! Thank you. Been studying for 3 years-ish and my issue is understanding Spanish spoken at speed! Any tips?
🎉I identify so much with this video! I also can remember being a kid fascinated by the Spanish language. After many years of traditional in-class lessons and giving up, I’ve decided to pick up the torch again 🎉. I’m learning so much more by fumbling my way through light hearted conversations with other Spanish speakers, than i did in the classroom. Thank you to those very kind and patient people who converse with me and appreciate my efforts. They truly don’t understand how helpful it is!
Amazing video! I can attest to your method of learning Spanish. I did many of the same things - starting at age 50 - and now I speak Spain Spanish at a C1 level. It has been LIFE-CHANGING. I think the ”why” behind everything is probably the most important thing, because without it, you’ll likely give up when the going gets tough. Where you’ve gotten it right and where I need more help is full immersion. Though I now spend much of my time in a Spanish-speaking country, I work remotely in English 100% of the time and that can impede my Spanish advancement. Your native language absolutely can slow down your language learning if you’re not careful. I wish I could immerse myself as much as you do with Spanish content. Like you said full days of Spanish (when I’ve had them) have left me with a big headache by the end of the day. But poco a poco. Esperaba que mi mensaje les animara a tus seguidores al canal de RUclips. Un saludo.
I love hearing stories like yours, Steve. These give me a flood of nostalgia thinking back to the days in Sevilla. I managed to convert just about every daily aspect of my life to Spanish, but the job is a missing piece that’s hard to change sometimes, as you pointed out. I’ve got some conversation practice tools in the works that I hope to share soon
@@JerryRegistre Cool. One other thing I forgot to mention is that I did NOT flock to the English expat community. All of my friends speak only Spanish so there is no option to switch to English.

Totalmente de acuerdo con los 5 tips que has dado para dominar el español, de hecho, creo que yo podría aplicarlos de manera inversa para mejorar mi inglés… 😂
One suggestion I would add to Jerry 'totally on target' video here, .... do NOT practice a lot of singular words & definitions by themselves in the beginning--I made this mistake and after a couple years I had a huge vocabulary of thousands of words but little ability to string them together to form sentences. Pick a couple topics, write out as many English sentences, questions, and comments as you can think of in those topics (maybe related to your job, something you do in your personal life as a hobby, etc) and then write out responses you might get to those statements and questions. Translate those sentences, questions, comments, and responses to Spanish, then everyday study one of those all day long as you go through your day, each day go to the next one, then on a day you can designate an hour or two, review the statements, questions, comments, and/or responses that you practiced up that point. You will become near fluents (seemingly) in that one, or two topics/areas. Then go to another topic/area. This way you can use what you've learned MUCH quicker than I did....Took me over a couple years...mucha suerte y que dios te bendiga!!
Thanks for sharing your story. Im also from Haiti and speak Creole and English. Im restarting my Spanish journey after studying Spanish for 1 year many years ago.

There is something so endearing about folks who are genuinely interested in learning one's native language. That is a key that opens a lot of doors
Im a Haitian Puerto Rican American and I have struggled for years to learn Spanish I’ll be trying these tips gracias mi hermano
You’re a good man
I too would like to add that in school we are told that it is a required class, so no one really takes it seriously because it was a genuine selection.
*wasn’t a genuine selection.
Good! That’s what learning is all about 🙌🏽
Congrats on the French (and rooting for your German as well).

You’ve got this 🙏🏽
If you’re in Argentina long-term, that’s a golden opportunity. Why don’t you try the no-English language pledge that I did in Spain? It’ll be hard for a few weeks/early months, but it’s unbelievably cool when you see your brain finally start to “get it”.
Can’t wait for you to be trailing through Argentina in full Spanish 🚀
Hey I'm interested in moving to Argentina. Would you be willing to share any tips or advice?
It is literally more difficult, though. That much is certainly true. Doable, but definitely harder.
Vivo en BA también, estoy intercambio. Send me a message.
I learned to speak Spanish through a co worker don’t get it twisted it’s not easy because of how tge words are
8:13 I studied language acquisition and developmental psych etc ..and self-talk is also a big part of how we all learned our native languages as children. We tend to forget we did this
1000%, you need excitement, a growth mindset, and the belief that you can get there if you keep practicing deliberately

Really happy for you two! Nothing like a good tug on the heartstrings to serve as a powerful motivator to learn a language 😄
Awww I love this! What dreams are made of
I believe it's easy, it's only a language barrier not a brick wall :-) So I wouldn't see it as hard because he is your husband, yall got through barriers before marriage right?
Finally a RUclips video that’s honest about the work you have to put into it.

@@JerryRegistre Yesssss it really is 🥰
Excellent summary of the keys to becoming fluent in a second language.

@jazziejay0918 no:
"Hispanic refers to a person with ancestry from a country whose primary language is Spanish. Latino and its variations refer to a person with origins from anywhere in Latin America (Mexico, South and Central America) and the Caribbean."
From Dukedotedu
The Latin in latino refers to Latin America, not all the languages based on Latin. French people are French, not latino. Literally have never heard anyone else think that
And Beyonce is a mix of African, Native American and French and calls herself black. So again, no, not a Latina
And I agree, being latino isn't a race, it's an ethnicity

Rarely do I get very interested in new language tools, since I think the basics take you far, but I have a lot of hope that AI and VR will make marked a difference in helping people learn languages faster.

i am a Turk and i am fascinated by this language as well. actually i am fascinated nearly all of the latin languages out there. English, my 2nd language, took me around 7 years to get fluent. i am TRYING to learn Spanish like for 4 months. i hope these tools will help me learn. great video cheers. (Turkish is very hard too btw as a native i can say that.)
This is very motivating. Thanks.
This was a very informational and genuine video Thank you for the contact and helping me on my Spanish journey
I really appreciate you saying that, and I hope you enjoy the journey 🙏🏽
You are a very impressive young man. You have learned the real lesson of life - self-discipline
May God continue to bless you...
That means a lot 🙏🏽 I had a great example growing up seeing my dad sacrifice for his dreams and his family. Blessed and highly favored
This dude's dedication is insane. I love it
Congratulations on your journey, it's inspiring!
You share the same pattern I see in all of my successful students: passion and curiosity for the language. That's the foundation, everything else (tools, methods) are secondary.
Thanks for sharing those resources, definitely helpful!
You are very disciplined young man! You have inspired me to push harder with my Spanish. Gracias! 😘
I'm really happy to hear, and thank you for the kind words! 🙏🏽
Beyond impressed 🤩👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Really appreciate the kind words, Chris. Godspeed on your language journey 🚀 Give a shout if you ever make your way to the Spanish side someday 😆
Your journey is so inspirational! Thanks for the boost.
Hands down one of the best videos I’ve seen online
Thank you!! 🙏🏽
You can't imagine how I am struggling to speak Spanish, listening to your tips makes me a little comfortable. I learned English myself by listening to music and read some interesting books but I realize that Spanish is a little hard.
Thank you for your contents. As an Haitian I'm so proud of you, you have a new subscribers.
Goals! Also grew up around the language but didn’t understand lol! I’m determined now.
Excelente trabajo!
Gracias amigo 🙏🏽
I can relate to the not in 30 days. Thanks for sharing your journey
Muchas gracias por tus consejos.
Me alegro de que te parezcan útiles. Suerte con el español 🙏🏽
Grande hermano, me alegro que hayas disfrutado tanto aprendiendo y dominando poco a poco la lengua. Un saludo del farruk
