This is so intimidating. This dude was not fucking around in the least and that's why he became fluent. No wonder I'm still not able to speak after all these years. I've been literally fucking around.
Amazing, Such discipline and determination. I love the French language, but have failed miserably in the past. Now, I am 68 and still keen on learning. Thankyou for this opportunity.
Not only did he learn the language but has impeccable presentation and gives concise directions for other learners. Hands down one of the best YT language learning videos out there.
After some days of practice, I want to thank you for sharing this amazing technique. During my second recording, I was already a lot better and able to use new vocabulary! From day 1 to day 7 I improved much more than in 6 months of previous learning. It felt like I was rusty at the beginning, but after a while I was completely able to talk about a wide variety of topics in French! Thank you for changing my life as a language learner!

What I loved is that you don’t sell any overpriced language app or course. It all boils down to discipline, consistency and putting the time and effort to improve your skills constantly. There is no fancy method unless you are not willing to work. You are a true inspiration for me. I am in this journey with German!
Some apps can be very valuable though like Pimsleur for pronunciation, assimal for grammar etc. Some resources without paying a little bit of money you can't find for free.
@@kennyrtk6400 I understand what he means... Most people cannot spend 8h a day learning languages. Either they have not enough motivation or not enough time. When watching videos of people making lightspeed progress, you end up comparing yourself to others better than you and it just makes you feel like shit. Nonetheless, this guy's video is instructive and not about showing off his skills so, even if I understand what Cris means, I have to disagree with him.
@@CrisOnTheInternet I’m sure it can be adapted to an individual’s circumstances. It will just take longer - 3 months, 6 months, a year etc. It won’t discourage the dedicated learners because we *want* to become fluent. Plus his content is thorough, clear, organised, honest and the editing/production of this clip is ON 👏 POINT 👏. Usually I’m put off *some* 10min polyglot vids with their clickbait/look @ me waffle/ads and you come out with nothing you don’t already know.
Nobody can verify your story so you can tell us what you like. I only have myself to compare it to. I came to France with literally zero French and was thrown into a full time job with French speakers only which means 8+ hours a day full immersion plus whatever French I spoke with anyone else in my free time. Not only that but I HAD to learn the language if I wanted to keep my job. Needless to say I was extremely motivated, not only by the circumstances but no less by my own passion (I speak six languages and I am learning two more). So we have motivation, commitment and talent, yet it took me three months to become what I consider fluent enough to master any situation, and I'm not talking about flawless French here. I could give you more examples (of other very talented people) but they are not going to change anything. So, let's see, you are either somewhat of a genius or a great story teller. I don't doubt at all that you did what you said but my guess is that it took you quite a bit longer than 30 days.
RUclips is full of people who claim they’ve picked up a new skill in a very short period of time but they are just lying through their teeth! Most of RUclips’s self-proclaimed polyglots can only speak 2 languages fluently and are only familiar with some very basic words or grammar points in few other languages which that certainly is not the definition of polyglot! Also spending 8 hours a day on a language is quite unrealistic and unpractical when you are a student or have a proper job if you are not living in that country ! RUclips is full of bs but smart people will never fall for these baseless claims !
He stated in the first video that he studied French 7 years ago. So he never claimed in this video that he started this 30 day journey with 0 French knowledge. I'm guessing he was at an A2 level and now B1 or B2 which with 240 hours of effective studying is very realistic that he achieved this level with his already prior French knowledge.
At first I was questioning the title, but devoting 8 hours with this intense regimen is definitely understandable. Very impressive not only on learning it but the discipline to do it this fast and diligently.
@@gastondeavila4116 that's true. Not knowing jack and "watch videos and summarize it" from day one sounds like total bs to me. He probably already had hundreds hours into the language before all this. But impressive none the less.

@@Z5Z5Z5 This tactic (just judging by how he spoke on day one) is likely for once you already have some foundational skills in the language you want to learn. @@ivry4846 I’ve found French particularly harder to learn than some of the other languages I have learnt partly due to the French attitude towards people who make grammatical errors in French. Some people struggle with numbers just as others struggle with language skills.
I'm Korean, and I have no idea how I learned English. When I try to learn a different language, like French, it's so much more difficult than it was when learning English, and my brain shuts down completely. Even following this routine, I always forget what I learned a minute ago, and the motivation to continue dies every second.
@@sasorah6414 language acquisition is primarily achieved through constant exposure and immersion, many people find that English is significantly easier to learn because the internet has a lot of English (Around 26% of the internet) and they just pick it up naturally because their brain “needs” to use it. agree, you can't become "fluent" in 30 days, you have to be immersed into the culture, it takes years to master a language, although his method is actually very interesting (watch out for cognitive overload - 8 hours a day is way too intense) As an ESL teacher, I recommend everyone to find new ways to learn and improve foreign language speaking.
This is seriously impressive. Not just the discipline to stick to this program of study, but the ingenuity to formulate and execute it in the first place. I don’t think I’ve seen anything quite like it. Hats off to you, sir.

I realized while watching this video that I have been following the same method for years in learning any of the languages I can speak now, including French, but in a more chaotic way I suppose 😂I never do organized sessions but everytime I want to learn a new language, I start listening to at least two hours of content in that specific language every single day and gradually start to familiarize myself with it. I start picking up expressions for example or even just a couple words without even knowing their spelling or the gramatical structure of the sentences I picked up. I just memorize them as sounds and start using them randomly. Then I start reading in that language as much as possible and looking up basic grammatical rules which help me docompose the sentences I read and understand the grammer used to construct them. Then when I start fully comprehending the langauge, I start repeating sentences I hear and then looking up words that I did not understand when reading/listening and I do this for a month at least and I start seeing a huge improvement in my vocabulary. Watching movies and tv shows helps immensely as well in picking up casual pronounciation and watching the native speakers' mannerisms and thus sounding more natural when speaking the language. This always works for me. I learnt English, French and now Turkish and I'm fluent in all three languages, never having spent a penny learning them.

I did the same this year - different schedule but same intensity. I didn't know about this guy, I made my own schedule. Now, I moved to France a few weeks ago and I'm a student at university without knowing any French a few months ago. My conversational skills are not as good because I didn't spend as much time on talking. But in general, yeah, it works. People are amazed when I tell them. I used anki too, a lot! I talk to myself a lot - rehearsing conversations for example. In the beginning I switched everything to French - my phone, my Xbox. I stopped doing any entertainment in English (which by the way is my first foreign language, not native) - all movies, YT videos, streamers, video and computer games had to be in French too. Also kindle books and audible audio books. I played a lot of ESO with the french voiceover and would put all new words in anki.
This is so inspiring. Trying to learn Spanish to communicate with my family and travel, but it’s so hard to build the habit of studying. This structure you have built for yourself though seems very efficient.

Helps active recall 5) Listening Pick up conversational pronounciation, watch with the lang subs on

8 hour routine. 4 hours per day on speaking. 1 hour on accent. 1 hour on convo. 1 hour on vocab. 1 hour on listen. SPEAKING - to develop fluency, recall words without having to think - deepL is a good translator - anki is a flash app - did a 30 minutes of speaking into camera, recorded self. - did this 8 times per day, for a total of 4 hours. - watched clips from video, looked at any WORDS he didn't know and SENTENCES he didn't know how to structure - he put the WORDS in anki deck, SENTENCES in Google sheet - in the four 30 minute sessions, he speaks freely about any subject / tells stories related to his life / reads an article and after every 2 paras, summarize what you read / watch a video and take notes, then summarize the video from your notes Pomodoro technique - 30 minute sessions, choose 20 minute break after each hour (walk/anime/snack+music) ACCENT - choose an article, read it aloud, then match pronunciation if word is not known - add words to list of words to practice - listen to 2 min video of people with his target accent e.g. Omar Sy CONVERSATION - Three days a week, talks to a language partner for an hour or two. - let words that he uses come naturally. Absorb speech patterns from natives. VOCAB - studied anki deck - goes over new words he's learnt LISTENING - find tv shows or movies, watching with subtitles

You have shown that you are a good language learner not to mention incredibly focused and hard working . But language learning should be fun . It is better to do it 30 minutes over many years preferably for a life time. Doing so will let you understand the nuances between very subtle cultural topics and appreciate how truly rich the language is. I am speaking from experience and learnt English , French , Spanish and some Chinese mostly as an adult. Well done and keep learning - French is a great language .

No. Langauge learning should not be fun, it should be effective! What's the point of spreading it over 10 years if you can do it much shorter? Knowing the language will let you understand the nuances between very subtle cultural topics and appreciate how truly rich the language is more than not knowing the language. Use some logic here.

Good for you man. I took two years of French in High School. I’m 31 now and trying to learn it again. I speak German, English and a little bit of Russian. I’m trying to learn a lot more languages and this gives me a lot of inspiration. Proud of you for learning this way and putting this much dedication into it.
Super cool and learning a new language as an American is an awesome way of branching out.
wow, this is actually impressive! I've started my japanese and french courses in duolingo yesterday, and this is funnest thing i've ever done since 2015, when i was on my way to learn how to speak in english. I'm russian speaker, by the way 😂
I gotta ask for an update man,
Any luck?
Hey, how are you doing? I'm at the same point by now, I'm 31, had 2 years spanish at highschool and do speak german, english and little russian. Right now I learn russian and try to get my spanish skills back to life. You are two years ahead by now, did it work out for you? 😊
As a French. Your French is incredible! French is not an easy language, one of the hardest. If you’re on your way to learn it. Don’t give up.
You can speak to native French speakers, we’re proud to speak our language if front of a someone who wants to learn it and most of us are proud that you try, even if you make mistakes (we all do, right?).
Depends on the person, Romantic languages are easy
French is one of the easiest languages to learn
@@ventreal4292ah oui vraiment ? Vous m’en direz tant mais dites m’en plus je vous en prie 😏
Not too hard for a Spanish/Portuguese/Italian speaker.
I'm a French native and your French accent is so good that it sounds like an actual one (Quebec French) when I hear you, you really sound like you could be from there! That's impressive haha
Salut, là...
This might be the breakthrough I need to overcome my lack of confidence in speaking French with others around me
I have the same with speaking english
This has been by far the most informative and helpful video on learning a new language in a while. I love that you get straight to the point. Thank you.
This is incredible
Me i do speak both french and English but my English is not fluent as I want ....I definitely agree with what you said and I thank you so much for your time and work .
A big Time's up guy
Keep on ......by the way ton français est juste incroyable agréable à entendre.
Congratulations from the best French language teacher in Paris! 🇫🇷 🎉
This is an extremely organised routine! I’m going to try it as soon as I finish my exams. Thanks
This is so inspiring. Trying to learn Spanish to communicate with my family and travel, but it’s so hard to build the habit of studying. This structure you have built for yourself though seems very efficient.
I needed to see this!
1:45
1) Speaking
-record speaking for 30mins, 8 times each day
-watch back video and note unsure words. translate in deepl, put in anki deck, put sentence structures in a google sheet
2:50 4hrs in total
a) speak freely about any subject
b) tell a story from your life
c) read an article and summarise after every 2 paras
d) watch a video and summarise it using notes
2) Accent 4:12
- read aloud an article, put unsure words in google translate and mimic pronounciation
add to list of words 5:07
after every 3 paras listen to a clip of someone speaking with ur preferred accent, for 2mins then continue reading

Go over new words learned on anki, study decks until hour is up. Helps active recall
5) Listening
Pick up conversational pronounciation, watch with the lang subs on
Omg this is so amazing. Thank you. I'm currently studying 3 hrs a day. I just started yesterday. I'm going to start using your system. I want to get fluent as quickly as possible.
tell us about the results

Dude your motivations is IMPRESSIVE!
Sheer genius. You designed your own language course with everything carefully thought out and customized for optimum learning with free programs and apps. Amazing!
this looks an amazing practice, doesn't just apply to French but anything from interviews to story telling to crowds! cheers
How do you mean interviews and crowds?
This was very interesting! I did the recording myself while speaking and writing down the words I didn't know when I taught myself Spanish. I wasn't as consistent with this but it definitely helped me reach fluency. I'll definitely use this for french! Thanks for the insight, new subbie!
Damn, this is probably the most inspiring video I've ever watched...gotta get back to my Portuguese coursebook rn
Omg thanks for the tips! I’m definitely going to try these! My goal is to be fluent in French.
This is by far the best language learning routine i have ever found. I am surprised you havent reached 1M subs yet!! Keep up the great work
I will start from now and come back after 3 months

Courage à toi !
This is just beautiful... the routine, the scheduling
Impressionnant! As for me, it took me almost 10 years to become fluent in English...
But you pushed forward! mYou kept at it.
I finally found what was missing in my French learning experience! Thank you very much for these useful advices. Your video is a gold mine 💣
hem Türkçe hem İngilizce bilip Fransızca öğrenmekte başka bişey 🤣
You've motivated me to try this. I've always wanted to learn a third language (Native's Spanish, also speak English) so given the cognates and similarities, as well as the little knowledge that I have of it, I've decided to finally learn Portuguese using this method! I don't have 8 hours available, but I'll try my best. Português eu estou indo para você!
He's writing french words in a spreadsheet called "learning Spanish" ^_^
He also is learning Chinese in one of the other ones
I'm french guys just a little advice : learning a new words every week (20 per weeks for start) and try to do speech with yourself during 10 minutes in speak in french with these words, at the beginning it will be hard but you will see in 3 months you'll have a GREAT EVOLUTION, trust me guys !!!!
Agree, though my main issue is the fact that he seems to have nothing else he's doing except learning French! I have 3 languages to keep up my high level in (not including continuing to improve my vocabulary in my mother tongue). I also do several different types of dance.
No. Langauge learning should not be fun, it should be effective! What's the point of spreading it over 10 years if you can do it much shorter? Knowing the language will let you understand the nuances between very subtle cultural topics and appreciate how truly rich the language is more than not knowing the language. Use some logic here.
If you enjoy studying a language 8 hour days go for it. Tell us what you have achieved in the end though. I am open to learn from your experiences.
I won't lie that 8 hours won't be easy at all
@@blahblahsuperanon I did the same thing you did and the results were very very poor. And I did a bit every day for many years and the results were fantastic not to mention a lot more fun. You do you, my friend.
