I wish all French people were speaking like this.
me too😭😭
puis, ce sera pas agreable et pas possible dans la conversation reelle, imaginer tu dire en anglais "I......wish......all......French.....people.....were.....speaking....like...this" lol
C'est ça
I was about say exactly what you left the comment here
You mean artificial and slow? Where’s the beauty in that?
Here’s the thing with French (and I say this as a non-native fluent French-speaker): much of it is about speed. As a Brit who speaks fluent French, Spanish and Italian, the best way I can describe French vis-a-vis Spanish and Italian is that it’s ‘slippery’. With Spanish and Italian, you’re on solid ground in that when you read it, it’s literally ‘say what you see’. With French, you see so much on the page and so much of it just isn’t pronounced. ‘-ent’, ‘-ais’, ‘-aient’, ‘-ions’, ‘-iez’ etc. However, because so many of these different verb endings are repeated, it’s not too difficult to pick up with a little effort. When they are spoken at about 75% of the average speed, they are not that difficult. The liaison thing also adds to French’s ‘slipperiness’, but, again, it all depends on the speed of the French speaker. You can have a passage read by 2 people at different speeds (x1 & x0.75) and with the faster speaker you may get very little, but when it’s slowed down all becomes clear! As here, with the constantly delightful Judith and Hélène!
Great explanation. French is almost “whispery”. As I told my French tutor the other day on italki, when the French speak, it’s almost like they are just grazing the word lol
@@electroguitar Lovely way of putting it! 👍
100%. Another issue for those picking up the language and trying to listen to speech is that the nuance between many ending sounds is very delicate, resulting in many words sounding like other words, and so context plays a supremely important role in determining meaning. This is to say nothing of the role of slang, where je ne sais pas, becomes j'en sais pas due to overactive liaison, which becomes jsais (chez) pas due to slang. This built-in mechanism of French makes it largely inaccessible to the listener for quite some time, unless you find a willing participant who will actively slow down their speech to assist as these two are doing.
@@thisisone9529 Yup! It’s simultaneously a boon/bane that there are so many similar sounds as that makes fewer to learn. It’s also a bane because if you’re not hot on working out context, it can be tricky! However, given the relative lack of personal pronoun use, the context thing is even trickier with Spanish/Italian: trust me!
It’s not speed or liaison (most languages have it) - the reason some people don’t understand spoken French is because they haven’t listened enough to real spoken French.
The conversation is very natural but slow - this is exactly what I want. "Du coup", "quand même", French people use these words all the time but I didn't quite know how to use them. Thank you Judith and Hélène for creating great videos ❤
The slow conversation is really very helpful for people like me: English-speakers who are trying to learn French.
The shortness of the video is also another helpful factor because it's very easy to retain attention for 7/8 minutes as compared to videos that are longer. And last but not the least, the subtitles.
This channel, Française Avec Nelly and French Mornings With Elisa are the three RUclips channels I like best and find most beneficial.
Thanks a ton from Thunder Bay, Canada!
I’d love to see more like this. Typical conversations that are slowed down
That cup of coffee and the sound of ambulance in the background brings me back to Paris.
Hahaha
Thank you so much easy french. After years of practicing, I now can watch super easy french in 2x speed
Wow! Bravo !!
I’m a Russian speaking. Listening to the slow French dialogue with English subtitles 😊 Merci beaucoup for my brain’s double work 👌😁
You girls will go to heaven for your work. Thank you so much!

🙌
Moi aussi. C’est vrai!

I’m a Brazilian learning french very slowly, I love the process. This kind of video is perfect! Thank you!
J'aime beaucoup vos Slow French vidéos! Je les trouve vraiment utiles. 🥰 Merci!
Oh merci beaucoup ! 🤗🩷
I wish the beginner's French textbook I've been using in an online course had audio at this speed!
Thank you. This is so helpful for learning the flow and pronunciation. Love the ''SLOW" French videos!!
j'adore parfait pour encourager mes eleves debutants
Merci beaucoup!
You guys! Merci beaucoup! Thanks so much for this! I know it must be hard to speak SLOOOOOWLY, but it is so helpful as I am trying to learn!
this is very good as the girls speak slowly, it is easy for us to catch what they are saying. I am a new member, I like the way you girls speaking. I love studying french .
You are a wonderful couple. Unique, individual. Please, please, please: MORE everyday conversation/small talk. There are SO MANY videos(and books) about "going to the shop" "visiting the doctor" "ordering at the restaurant" ect ect ect....this, slow, but natural, casual spoken french is EXACTLY what I was looking for......I hope everything is good to great to the best for you two and that every minute is something you guys are, can be, looking forward to. If possible. Cordialement.
What a great approach to help those of us who took French eons ago and forgot most of it. (Only a bit of it comes back when I'm in Paris or other parts of France.) I very much appreciate how difficult it must be to speak slowly. Thank you for making these videos.
Merci. Bonne journée
Merci beaucoup ❤ this video was really good for learning conversations. Please more of these type of videos. Also maybe in normal speed conversations
I love this channel. I practice my French with these two ladies everyday. j'adore faire ça. 🌷
Thanks both of you for making roads for the people who wants to learn french
C'est super!
Enfin.... Merci !

I have just discovered this video. It’s so wonderful! I’m so impressed of how you two can have a conversation that is so natural and you don’t even need to look at any script! You are so patiently speak slowly that we French learner can follow and enjoy. Thanks to the slow speed, I can understand the conversation and feel that I’m learning. I enjoyed the video because I can follow it. Thank you so much for making such videos like this one. I gave you a “thumb up” and subscribed! You are greatly appreciated!
