¡Hola! In today’s video I spoke Spanish with some nice Spaniards. Normally in my videos I chat with people from Latin America, but not today! I really enjoyed our chats, and it was good to practice my listening and conversation skills with native speaks from Spain. Thank you for watching, you're awesome :) New videos every Saturday.

Hola, I'm Nate. I used to not know any Spanish at all, and I had no interest in learning the language. I thought learning Spanish would be boring, a waste of time, and would provide no value to my life. Then I started taking Spanish classes in high school and everything changed for me. I struggled with learning the language a lot at first, but thanks to my teachers and my Spanish speaking friends, they helped make the learning process fun. Within a few months, I had gotten to a conversational level, but more important, I had become a more confident person. The real win for me, though, was the friendships I made and strengthened. I discovered that not only did I have higher self esteem, but being out in the real world with people, whether old friends or new ones I met, made me feel more alive and connected with the world around me. Now it's my goal to create videos that make you smile and inspire you to learn Spanish or another language!

The younger guys were the coolest.
The older guys seemed less humored by him.
He's so funny though. 😂 Especially when he made the song about liking the guy's curly hair. 😂😂😂
Los chicos más jóvenes eran los más geniales.
Los chicos mayores parecían menos complacidos con él.
Aunque es muy divertido. 😂 Especialmente cuando hizo la canción sobre que le gustaba el cabello rizado del chico. 😂😂😂

I've experienced this too in real life. When I speak Spanish I have a deeper voice that my English pitch by about an octave and I pronounce words like Andalusia (Spain), so when I was talking to a woman from Mexico in a cafe here my city in England, she couldn't believe I was actually British 😅

I don't know what state you're in but they're all different. In my state we definitely didn't have a Spanish requirement. We had an option to learn foreign languages but that meant any of them that were offered, like German, Spanish or Mandarin. I wouldn't say universally that it's a second language to people who have gone to school. And in my experience, they teach people to succeed on the tests, not necessarily to communicate in the real world with natives.

Theres a big difference between being able to have a basic conversation to the practically native level Nate has reached.
