  • Another round of Hablas Espanol! Can Americans speak Spanish on the spot? This is a fun series that we have done on BYU campus over the last few months, to see if college students are able to speak in Spanish. We found that many can speak in Spanish but also in many more languages like French, Chinese, and Japanese! Check out this fun new episode of ¿Hablas español?

@@KevinRovertt I'm interested. I started learning spainsh 3 months ago. They temporary moved me at work and I was with Cubans who didn't speak much English. I learned so I could ask them about their country, I got to ask a few things and they taught me a little spainsh. I'm decent at writing, but only on focused topics. I'm also decent at speaking it, but I don't really understand while listening. I've been learning mostly nature topics. I don't know if the grammer is right, but for example this is a sentence that came from my head, no help from translator. El serpiente verde vive en los árboles. no es venenoso. Se alimenta de insectos o pequeño vertebrados.

Quick correction: "¿Qué es" is used to ask the meaning or definition of a word or phrase (e.g., ¿Qué es el amor para ti?). "¿Cuál es" is used to ask for 'specific' information, like "¿cuál es tu dirección?". So, it should be: "¿Cuál es tu deporte favorito?".
