Kids, I hope you learnt something interesting from this video: out of the 20 bands, 15 of them used standard tunnings. You dont have to play 11 string guitars tunned to z# to sound heavy!

This is true, but as most of these bands are getting old, their voices change. I oils say the majority of them, when playing live, probably play their songs in Eb standard to match the vocalist voice better.

There's a good reason trash metal is my favourite sub genre. It features a good combination of complex riffs, melody and speed when it needs it. I feel like it's a very balanced sub genre, just a bit more interesting than straight heavy metal to me

I had no idea there were so many great thrash metal bands. All I've been listening to was mostly Megadeth/Overkill/Annihilator, and just recently got into Exodus/Testament/Flotsam and Jetsam (which is surprisingly missing in this video, btw). Great video, thanks for introducing me to so many interesting bands.

    2. Megadeth
    1. Metallica (Cliff Era)
Edit: This is my ranking of the Big 4! However I’m a huge Megadeth and Metallica fan so this was slightly biased, I’ll also admit that Megadeth wipes the floor with Metallica NOW but personally I prefer Metallica in the Cliff Era (Kill em all, Ride the lightning, Master of puppets).
