I wish you spoke more about technical things not just superficial specs. Would have been nice if you spoke about the elephant in the room - F01 reliability and service and faults and how this vehicle after 100k held up
You want to hear about stuff that you could have googled and found out in like 3 seconds? Would you have gotten more value if I just regurgitated that same crap over and over?
Great review. It's always fascinating to see these older vehicles available for the cost of a budget Kia. I was interested to hear about rattles in some other luxury vehicles. Our F150 has 200K miles, 1/3 of which is gravel roads and it has virtually no rattles or buzzes. Still this BMW is an object of lust and knowing about Cary Imports is a great resource if I ever decide to act on it. Thanks for this!
Hey thank you sir, yea I love driving these things with 100k miles something most reviewers can’t do. Really love the F-150 not sure if you saw my review on it great truck. Will try to review other luxury rides and Lexus cars
Honestly, you weren't a car kid in the 2010's if you didn't just love the F01 7 series. 5 years later it still looks elegant and opulent Now it costs as much as base Honda Civic. I kind of feel bad for the poor guy that bought it new. I also drooled all over this car in 2014, Actually it brings me a lot of memories from then. This used to be the best of the best.
I looking to get one of these for the 7th time. I'm back and forth between the 7 series and a 4S Turbo. I've had 5 S Classes, 2 LS 460s. My addiction is the 7series. 2 months ago I purchased a Challenger Hellcat WB, I still crave a 7🤣

Hey there. This is a very nice video, especially true if it is your first or among the first you've posted. There are several things that really stand out and I suspect are just some newbie mistakes: - Your assessment that this F02 is still "the ultimate driving machine" is, to me, refreshing. This platform is widely panned for its lackluster handling, numb steering (in your car, it has hydraulic steering whereas the RWD versions are electric) and overly-isolated cabin. Essentially, others have said this is far more like the S-class of yore and then bring up the E38 as the 7 to have. - You are correct in that the 2010-2019 RR Ghost (I believe it's RR04) is based on the F02 platform, and indeed, it also shares a LOT of parts, esp underneath the sheetmetal. They are even diagnostically, nearly identical and features can be electronically coded between the two. But the Rolls is definitely NOT the same thing as a 7. Therefore, calling your 2014 F02 V8 xDrive a $20000 V12 Rolls Ghost is reckless. I get it, you may draw inspiration for the comment from Lexus' historically thin guise of uniqueness from Toyota, but that is really not true here. Or with any modern Rolls, frankly. - You note a "rattle from up here" later identifying the region to where you point as the mirror. If there is a "rattle" someone mucked about with it and didn't put it back together properly. Historically, German cars are notorious for interior panels rubbing together and "creaking" as a result. This car shouldn't do that, but do look for a loose headliner, especially around the windshield. - Your comments on the S-class make no sense. You state the 7 is "far more solid" [than the S-class] which you cannot (and do not) substantiate with anything factual, or even with any kind of specific indicators that lead you to believe that. - You mention turbo lag on the S-class and depict a Diamond White W221 sportline. That platform has a turbo engine in the S550 (aka S500) for one model year, 2013, and it is a 4.6L TT DOHC V8 good for 429 hp and 516 lb/ft.... at 1800 RPM. Your assessment of "turbo lag" isn't supported by manufacturer-supplied numbers. The only thing I can think of which you may "feel" is that the ZF 8HP is more eager to downshift vs the 722.9 and that may manifest itself as throttle hesitation which you may have interpreted as "turbo lag." The other point of note is that the model you filmed yourself in has the N63TU which is widely criticized for throttle lag. - The comment "most German cars don't last" is quite ignorant to believe and worse to admit/say. Mercedes-Benz has a generations-long reputation for durability which Toyota mimicked when developing its Lexus-branded cars. Evidence of this is blatantly visible in LOTS of places, including the area around that dealer. - You should also clarify that the F-platform 7 has air SPRINGS and then, ONLY in the REAR, and THAT is standard across the range on LCI models (at least in the U.S.). Prior to that, it was an option for any model, and standard on LWB. Front suspension uses steel springs with electronic dampers with two settings. The ZF 8HP was standard in the 760 and ActiveHybrid 7 from inception and added to others with the LCI in 2013. Likewise the 4.4 TT V8 was standard in all 750 models since inception, although, the LCI did have revised output figures. - The M5's engine, although based on the same fundamentals, is remarkably different from any of the _50i models. - The door hinges are not terribly unique, however, if you are keen to see interesting doors, engineered specifically to offer more space to get in and out while reducing its outward swing, check out the first gen Lexus SC (aka Toyota Soarer) and the Mercedes CL (C215 platform). - You state "this Rides better than a 3-series" - probably better to clarify that statement with "rides softer than a 3-series" which makes a lot more sense. - I think you mean "ogling and Googling" (you said "Oogling and goggling") but that's just nitpicking on my part :)
Toyota did not mimick Mercedes reliability. Toyota has always made reliable vehicles since they originally began. The same with Lexus in 1989 with their LS400 which have been seen to do 1 million miles without any serious issues. So that part you're completely incorrect.
2020 750i 41,000 miles later replaced coolant tank, replaced fuel injector, replaced low pressure fuel pump and one oil change, seems like every time i get in something breaks, I don't even drive it anymore.
I’ve been thinking about this car because I truly love the style but there are so many videos that say they are horrible cars and need so much attention. I’m reallly not sure what to do.
I own 2013 f02. It's my favorite vehicle so far. The reliability comments kill me. This car is for a person that really loves driving. I smile when I get in this thing! Yes maintenance is costly when A repair comes up. That's the trade off. If your not into the dynamics of driving, just go get your fucking lexus or toyota. Who cares
Kindly compare this to the 2014-2018 K900 and 2010-2016 Panamera in summary and if you could briefly speak on mechanical reliability of the 750li, thank you !!!

@@MeynMotorGroup I couldn't believe it, man. That car is the definition of reliability. I guess he was referring to it as more expensive to repair than his es350 due to the extra cylinders. At any rate, that was questionable.
@@Kauffman578 Scotty disapproves anything that is a money pit. Why is the LS 430 a money pit? It has a V-8, so more fuel cost & more costly to fix if something goes wrong. It has a timing belt that has to be changed & if it breaks it'll take out the engine. Water pump has to be changed at the same time as the timing belt or you'll have to pay to have the same job done twice once it starts leaking. Mark Levinson amp dies air suspension fails & costs around 1k per air bag. Not counting labor to have a mechanic do all these repairs. That's why the I recommend the last generation ES 2013-2018 or 2019+ for low cost maintenance & the 2013- 2017 LS 460 W/O air suspension or AWD.
@@michaelgrant5258 ironically I read the ls460 is less reliable than ls430. There are ls430 versions without the air suspension. But you got a point, it is more expensive to repair than the es for sure.
All I’ve been hearing about in the 5.-750 series is loads of oil consumption with those V-8’s they stuff the turbo top part of the V resulting in too much heat...burning/drying out seals....wouldn’t get unless the dealer was offering a good warranty...sounding more like a sales pitch than a review...as I am thinking you would’ve done you homework on these cars and already know of the problems
Canadian KRISPY Bacon I’m saying your too mad for no reason, your going insane because he’s not including every recall and problems about the 7 series. The people who care about it will go watch another video instead of complain.
You missed the point. Did you happen to look up the service history? People put thousands of dollars in these machines with the N63 twin turbo engine. If you don’t have an active warranty, you can really get screwed! The next time you test a used car, pull the service history on it. It may have just had 10k in repairs on it last month!😎
No not really that's why you get a warranty or else worrying about every little repair, you won't end up buying anything or just get a Camry and never look at cars again
Last year I was this close to buying the '12 750Li M-Sport of someone that said it was in great condition... The moment I saw it, didn't looked like the pictures as I could see some cosmetic flaws..... But what really turned me off and ran the other way "quicker than an Al Bundy", was the moment he turned the car on and withing a minute I could see that famous 'BLUE SMOKE' coming out of the exhausts! Blue smoke of death, meaning all the valves seals were blown as this would be a $1,300 - $2,000 job! Hell mothaphk'n NO! No wonder the owner was having trouble selling it, even when he got desperate and offer it to sell it to me for $7,000 cash I still said "Hell Nah".... You basically can't do work on your own on these 7 series do to having little to no space to work on them. Turbos inside the damn engine is a failure right from the start! Stay away from any 7 series, not worth it even used.... the F10 5 series M-Sport models are the perfect BMW as these are soo manly looking and always turn heads! Oh and easy to do work on them saving you a sheet load of cash along the way! Ran straight to a gorgeous 535i M-Sport Carbon Black Metallic (2 colors i 1) all Black on Black with very low miles and all I had to do was just some minor upgrades and all its maintenance that need to be done.... Never looked back! The 5 series is BMW's most reliable sedan they ever make!
Haha yea that air ride was pretty legit. I think the 2013 LS460 with air ride was like 1% more comfortable but the way this thing handles, I forgive it haha thanks again for watching
So that’s always hard for me to put in words but I’ll break it down as good as I can. As far as steering other reviewers and myself will refer to good steering as feeling “natural” most new cars use electric steering and some cars, new BMWs and Tesla’s and certainly others program their steering to feel insanely heavy to I guess feel like Hydraulic steering but it just doesn’t work. That’s just one example but this is why I draw so many comparisons in my reviews to give people as much perspective as possible even from cars that don’t compete. Cars that handle well typically have a great chassis or double wishbone suspension but cars like F30 BMW 3 series and Porsche’s handle great with strut suspension but that’s just good engineering and that’s why a simple spec sheet can’t describe a cars handling. Balanced vehicles that don’t have a ton of body roll and decent grip typically do it but again really hard to explain for the most part, people just need to take my word for it I guess but that’s why I always ask owners to comment to approve of my thoughts or to negate them completely and give their honest thoughts after many months or years of ownership.
Hey I appreciate that I really try my best but yea hopefully my rant helped but yea I appreciate a Camry same way I appreciate a Porsche Cayenne. Very different vehicles but there is joy in both and it’s hard to always make people understand that. You would really enjoy SavageGeeses channel

But I’m trying I want to make a couple vlog topics later. Yes they almost always say no or don’t understand what I’m doing especially nicer cars like BMW Porsche Lexus Audi etc that’s why I’m so fixated on used cars. The reason why so many luxury cars of this ilk end up with major problems is because so many people are just too lazy to maintain them. And if you have the money to afford such an expensive car, you can't expect to cheap out on maintenance. It's like you wouldn't buy a million dollar home and then just sit around without investing money for its annual upkeep. It is the nature of the beast when you want something that is both expensive and luxurious with lots of tech.
It actually is!! I've had both and the 750 li m sport is much better on driving and handling than the S550. The sport button on the S class is the closest you'll get to a BEEMER in terms of get up and go and handling.😊
@@CharlesJones-en6df solid doesnt mean control/ handling. Solid is the overall build/quality of the car. The S Class is more solid on the interiors with some buttons being metal, the comfort, etc. 7 series just has better controlling, press some things on the 7 series from this era now & watch how the interior cracks
@blankchannel7656 again I've HAD BOTH CARS. Sorry our opinions don't line up. Had a 2015 s550 sport amg and 750li M Sport. The Benz looks elegant on design and that's about it. BMW I've not had any troubles. The Benz metal you speak of is cheap! All around the middle console all of that so called metal was a light coated plastic material. It cracked all around the cup holders leading up to the sport buttons etc. My Benz also had terrible oil leaks. The ride didn't feel better either in my Benz. It was a great car. The Bmw for me has outperformed my last Benz. If I had this conversation in 2009 to 2011 it would be a different story. I said I'd never go back to BMW lol. I've had 3 7 series and 3 s550s since then.
@@CharlesJones-en6df those button switches are NOT cheap on the W221😂, what are you on? Its a reason & i say this meaning it. Its a reason rappers rapped about S Classes & the LS, not the 7 Series. 7 Series after 2002, had nothing to offer, it lacks its personality. Yeah they’re great driving cars, but when we speak luxury, comfort, design & personality. Thats definitely the W221, people have praised these for their high quality for a reason. I know people who have left 7 Series for S Classes because the 7 Series were VERY unreliable & lacked compared to the S Class. Men lie, women lie, but sales figures wont. Which is why the 7 Series has never had a year outselling the S Class

5 years later it still looks elegant and opulent
Now it costs as much as base Honda Civic. I kind of feel bad for the poor guy that bought it new.
I also drooled all over this car in 2014, Actually it brings me a lot of memories from then.
This used to be the best of the best.
Haha yea this thing was so baller. Still is but yea brought back memories for me as well. I also really loved the BMW 6 series, very epic looking car.
I looking to get one of these for the 7th time. I'm back and forth between the 7 series and a 4S Turbo. I've had 5 S Classes, 2 LS 460s. My addiction is the 7series. 2 months ago I purchased a Challenger Hellcat WB, I still crave a 7🤣
Nice review my friend. I had the 03 BMW 325i. Love that car. They age well and have a comfortable ride. 🤙
Hey bro thanks for stopping by that’s awesome man yea these Bimmers have been holding up for sure!
20k Rolls-Royce ghost that part bro everytime I see one in my rear view I think it's a ghost from a distance nice review
For sure! And thank you my friend!
I love my 2012 BMW 750Li
Throw on the sport plus and paddle shift 3rd gear pull is crazy
I love this car . I owned an e39 before this and what a fine upgrade .
Excellent review of this car . Prob the best one out there
How do you feel about it now

Great car . Just make sure you do oil changes every 3-5000 miles or so . Don’t accelerate hard or race it because it’s expensive to repair .
Thank you Kevin.
I always loved BMW. The guy I work fir just git an 850M. I think that's what it is. Either way, it's sick.
I like the LS too. I do think the S class looks a little better. Maybe not a better car but I like the styling better.
Hey how are you sir? Hopefully you’ve been having a great holidays with family. Oh wow 850 that’s legit. Yea I grew up liking BMWs, I would like to feature some new ones on the channel as I do think the newer Gen bimmers have been loosing some driving feel but would have to drive one first.
Yea S class has a lot of swagger technically is supposed to be the best haha but they age so poorly, perhaps I should try a newer one. Thanks again for watching!
Great review! Looking forward to more Lexus reviews though :)
Haha that is to come. I have a good problem of having too many cars to review lol thanks for watching my friend

Dude what an epic ride Alpina yea that was my dream specifically when I was younger so unique I love their emerald green colored 6 series also looks great
Hey there. This is a very nice video, especially true if it is your first or among the first you've posted. There are several things that really stand out and I suspect are just some newbie mistakes:
- Your assessment that this F02 is still "the ultimate driving machine" is, to me, refreshing.
Well my gosh you have a whole lot of data time on your hands.... How about you just go to your own review
Toyota did not mimick Mercedes reliability. Toyota has always made reliable vehicles since they originally began. The same with Lexus in 1989 with their LS400 which have been seen to do 1 million miles without any serious issues. So that part you're completely incorrect.

The F01/F02 BWM 7 Series is the best looking 7 series by far. What BMW is doing now with the kidney grills doesn't compare.
I'm thinking about getting one
2020 750i 41,000 miles later replaced coolant tank, replaced fuel injector, replaced low pressure fuel pump and one oil change, seems like every time i get in something breaks, I don't even drive it anymore.
Which means you’re quite regretful for purchasing this car given its frequent and costly repairs?
I have the 2014 Alpina B7 ( perfect )
I’ve been thinking about this car because I truly love the style but there are so many videos that say they are horrible cars and need so much attention. I’m reallly not sure what to do.
Get a Lexus es 350 for sure
I have an 09 750LI LOVE IT
Seamless, of course.

How reliable are they ? What does maintenance cost ?
I own 2013 f02. It's my favorite vehicle so far. The reliability comments kill me. This car is for a person that really loves driving. I smile when I get in this thing! Yes maintenance is costly when A repair comes up. That's the trade off. If your not into the dynamics of driving, just go get your fucking lexus or toyota. Who cares
Kindly compare this to the 2014-2018 K900 and 2010-2016 Panamera in summary and if you could briefly speak on mechanical reliability of the 750li, thank you !!!
This biggest issue is their 4.4 engine oil consumption.
Number two is their front end.
Around $8,000 to fix engine.
Around $6,000 to fix front end.
What's wrong with the front end??

It means you’ve spent 16K to repair some damages that were not diagnosable or detectable at your time of purchasing sir?

Scotty Kilmer disapproves this car!
oh of course lol he's also the same scotty that disapproves of the LS430
@@MeynMotorGroup I couldn't believe it, man. That car is the definition of reliability. I guess he was referring to it as more expensive to repair than his es350 due to the extra cylinders. At any rate, that was questionable.
@@Kauffman578 that dude in general is questionable I don't think there is such a thing a reliable new car way too many electronics in all of them
@@Kauffman578 Scotty disapproves anything that is a money pit.
Mark Levinson amp dies
air suspension fails & costs around 1k per air bag.
Hey can you do a review on a 2015 Infiniti Q50 s awd with 100,000 miles please
Just check my channel! Already did a Q50 review!
@@MeynMotorGroup ok thanks
All I’ve been hearing about in the 5.-750 series is loads of oil consumption with those V-8’s they stuff the turbo top part of the V resulting in too much heat...burning/drying out seals....wouldn’t get unless the dealer was offering a good warranty...sounding more like a sales pitch than a review...as I am thinking you would’ve done you homework on these cars and already know of the problems
Warranty
Exhaust Sports Auto Yes, that’s what I said; warranty.
Canadian KRISPY Bacon tf are you mad about your those people that go nuts over a car.
Brian Dusabe your comment, makes absolutely NO sense!
Canadian KRISPY Bacon I’m saying your too mad for no reason, your going insane because he’s not including every recall and problems about the 7 series. The people who care about it will go watch another video instead of complain.
I'd rather get an LS knowing that a used 7 series is going to be a money pit. Nothing is more expensive than a cheap BMW
Gotta get a warrant....and a maintenance pack
Exhaust Sports Auto what warrenty plan or company do you recommend to get on a 2014 7 series with similar mileage ?
These are really reliable if well maintained.I say they can hold for like 150-200k miles except the early v8 after 2013 there are solid.
Nice car / vid

Yea these cars are best used or bought with a warranty
What railroad bumps wtf LOL
Haha yea that air ride was pretty legit. I think the 2013 LS460 with air ride was like 1% more comfortable but the way this thing handles, I forgive it haha thanks again for watching
Exhaust Sports Auto what do you look for most in cars feedback from steering wheel? Handling? What else?
Ahhh ok ty i’ll take your word for it no other reviewer goes that in depth so i just wanted to become more educated ty
When are you gonna transform into Demuro Geese? Do new car dealers frown when you ask to review cars?
Haha I guess rn I’m kinda like an in between of those 2 I don’t want to be either tho but only so much one can do the differentiate themselves in a car review. But I’m trying I want to make a couple vlog topics later.
Yes they almost always say no or don’t understand what I’m doing especially nicer cars like BMW Porsche Lexus Audi etc that’s why I’m so fixated on used cars. I’m supposed to get press cars but even they don’t want to give me cars because I guess my views are so bad
@@MeynMotorGroup I guess you gotta review more Kia Stingers or Lexus LS or Genesis to get more views lol Seems like no one cares to watch anything else sadly.

BMW 750li trash so many problems
Isn't that any luxury car if everyone thought like that we would all be in Camrys but a lot of us are tired of our Camrys
@@MeynMotorGroup 😂

To say the 7 series is more solid than the S Class is crazy😂😂
If you carry an irrational point of view on the matter that’s void of any reality then sure I guess
