After few years you see the majority of them with the engine in the trunk,after they blew up or started to sound like a drum because of the weak crankshaft ! From this generation BMW became BMS( bayerische motor schaden) I own an F02,I changed twice the engine. They are build to fail.
@@YoungCarWiz he probably has the n57 diesel which can have issues with the crank if not taken care of properly. In truth the F series of BMW had the worst engines in the companies history in my opinion. From the N63 v8 in the 750i to the n57 in the 730d. All unreliable and not as good as their predecessors.
I have a 730D F01 and seeing the production of these cars back when they first started is really awesome. BMW really makes the best cars.

if you can't afford to maintain a car with a retail price of more than $150,000 USD then the car isn't really for you.
Go buy a Toyota Corolla if cost is such a big issue for you.
