Hard to see how you arrive at that. Everyone's name and country are clearly displayed, and watching and listening confirms that you're hearing the people or person who is onscreen. One player hands off to the next, and they overlap for a few seconds. Also, I'd wager that every one of these people played the entire composition, and that Anthony picked good parts from the individuals, and edited them in when they were playing their good parts.
It's clear they were all playing the song. It's also fairly obvious that they probably got thousands of submissions and chose the people who played it correctly and well. Very cool!
I invite you to learn 4 bars of this section the "Moto Perpetuo", playing them with everything that requires. Only then, we could have a conversation about this. Best wishes! ;)
You are a Guitar Heroe, Gretch! Thank you for your fully support on this project! It is a pleasure to have so amazing people in this project, like you!
Very touching to see the inspiration RF has brought to players around the world and the dedication eith which everyone has responded by contributing to this piece, each in her or his unique voice.
Jennifer Batten! I've met her. :-) She was doing a small personal solo tour about 15 years ago, and I got to talk to her quite a bit. Great lady and fantastic guitar player.
"This night wounds time" BTW, Gretchen, Zepparella's show in St. Charles (Chicagoland) in 2019 was FANTASTIC!! Thank you and the rest of the ladies/musicians!!! My quote is from the back of the album. Yes, I still have the vinyl...
The more I listen to it, the more I like it, I do think it's good! Good that people are learning this music, especially the younger artists/musicians. Nice to know that the new younger musicians are not being dismissive of that old dad rock/art rock/prog rock (that has had a rough time with critics, even when the music was new! Prog as it was known back in the 1970's was given a hard time, especially when Punk came along). Hats off to everyone, young and old, in the video, if I tried to play this I'd need surgery to untie and reconnect my mashed up fingers! I think I'll leave it to those with the talent to pull it off and settle for being happy to be an attentive listener.
So there I am chilling to some people playing through Fracture and suddenly freaking Jennifer Batten just casually pops up! Also, didn't Chris Gibson sub for Bill Rieflin in KC at some point in 2017 or so?
Props to Rachel for the bass support. Fracture is cool in so many ways, but for me what really stands out are the parts besides guitar. Really original (esp. for 1974). I think we all know the tendency for everyone in the band to want to play 16th notes in sync with (or at least be as hyper as) a guitar part like that. But here the bass part is really inventive, and really adds to the rhythmic feel. So Rachel makes this twice as fun and REALLY sound like Fracture. Wetton 4ever 💛.
Great to see one of the original League of Crafty Guitar players in there Hideyo Moriya who is with the California Guitar Trio! Have seen them numerous times, and will soon when the open for the great King Crimson this summer! [plug plug]
Quite simply--I love this!! What a beautiful thing, Anthony. You're turning this remarkable piece of music into a worldwide phenomenon. 47 years after its original release! This is single-handedly helping a great piece of music live on, and as a bit of a Fracture fanatic myself, I thank you for your decades of effort.
I have seen videos, some of these players, even playing full length versions on RUclips. A quick search will find them. AFAIK this is a tribute to a fabulous man who has spent his life following a dream and making huge changes to modern musical culture. From orchestras to bluegrass bands his music is there, thriving and challenging all who play and listen. Happy Birthday🥳🥳🥳Bobby Wilcox!
Quite a feat trying to play this song.Kudos I think really though Robert is the only person that can play it with its original vibe intake. For a man who is so dead pan his music is quite soulful. Most players in trying to actually play it perfect in up making end sounding clinical. The guitar faces are funny to watch though.
Ps- The guitar is not the main reason i like this song, what makes it amazing is the composite of Drums,Bass and violin which give it dynamic and melodic backing.Wetton esp makes the song menacing.
when i was young, playing a jimmy page solo note for note meant you were a great player. we were kids, what ya expect. now on youtube its playing holdsworth, but i think this track will eventually be the one you have to master and play on youtube to show you are a worthy guitarist. its great, people mastering difficult prog and fusion guitar parts and exploring that type of music. its what you want if you love music. guitar playing now is so great its crazy, and its hopeful for the future more and more players as good as masters like fripp keeping the flame alive.
There's a lot to be said about what makes a guitarist great. It's not playing like Holdsworth or playing Fracture (though those things can help!), but being original. These pieces of music are great because they are so uniquely a part of the player. EVH had Eruption, Steve Vai has For the Love of God, Fripp has Fracture.
Nice! Thanks for posting. I was nerding out on the guitar types being played, good to see a coupla Teles! I do NOT have the discipline for playing this, but enjoy watching others!
Ouch, that made my wrist and arm ache just watching it! Great job everyone. I might have been able to manage one note - just the one - and I'd have probably played it badly too. ;-)
He may not lie per se but he often bends the truth and conveniently omits facts that are not to his liking, though. Still an amazing musician, though, of course.
@@MakeWeirdMusic Such a shame you didn't do the version where there's that open string tremolo picking in the bridge. I've been woodshedding that for weeks! Maybe the strategically-placed capos on my 9-string (each string tune a minor 7th apart) will help me hack through a Holdsworth hang!
10 seconds a shot isn't playing "Fracture". Plus it is impossible to tell who is playing what
Every party has a pooper!
Hard to see how you arrive at that. Everyone's name and country are clearly displayed, and watching and listening confirms that you're hearing the people or person who is onscreen. Superb job, guys!
Agreed. Thanks for your participation, Augusto!
That's perfect!
as a prog rock musician from wayyyy back, and saw KC many times, its great to see young musicians learning this music.
Thanks for checking it out!
Kudos to everybody, well done! Loved seeing those amazing women represented and rocking out!

Wow Anthony, that Fripp stare is now as good as the original!
Congrats to everyone that made this possible!

Thank you!
HBD, Robert Fripp! I enjoyed the variety of players and guitars. I would have liked to hear all of Fracture played on the Tele.
Hah!
20 years ago I thought I'd never hear this piece played again. I've never been so delighted to be wrong! Bravo!
Wonderful!
Totally the most original music you will ever listen too, will never ever stop listening to king crimson, Robert Fripp thank you sir

I love the way you did the handoffs. Don't know how I missed this when it first came out.
Very proud to see my father Dan Charbonneau apart of this project!

Sorry about the last name misspelling, but very glad he could participate!
Hi Jennifer :) Awesome.
Love seeing her in this!
Robert should be honored to hear the “impossible made possible” by a world forum of great players! 🌎⭐️🌍💫🌏💞
He shared the video today, so he must have at least enjoyed it

Yep!
Happy Birthday, Robert Fripp - your inspiration spans the globe.
As someone else put it, we're all students of Robert Fripp :)
Love this. But the guy at 4.04 was playing it really slow and the film was speeded up! I mean, look at the people walking by!
Nope. No speed adjustments. But people didn’t shoot in the same video formats and frame rates. So that might have an effect
Awesome stuff, loved all inputs, different tones and personal perspectives on this classic. Kudos to all involved!
