    From one guitarist to another, you did a damn good job regardless of minor foibles. If playing an immortal song like this is adequate to you, it's gold to us mere mortals. I feel for Mr. Fripp, he's the best guitar player in my eyes, for him to still be humbled down by an impossible or at least probable test of focus and mental strength after 48 years. Of course to be honest, it hasn't been too bad to him on the outside, he hasn't aged much from it. It like the Terror sequence from Larks' Tongue in Aspic 4 was similar, if not influenced by the Terror sequences in this song. Or vice versa because I'm probably wrong on the assessment. I know I would not want to try this, I actually don't try to play songs. I write my own pieces and hope for the best but still I can not miss an intense performance and honestly between this and the one previous, you nailed it. Now in 26 years if you get to chat with Mr. Fripp about it, that'd be something.

    I'll never know how your Fracture went--it got yanked before I got a chance to watch it. But this is very well played. I'm one of those people who's been watching you for at least 10 years. Until I discovered A.A. Faide, I never heard any one other than Fripp play it. It's been fun watching you not just learn to play some of the hardest guitar pieces there are, but also to watch your impressive growth as a musician. Kudos!

      Thank you. Robert and David Singleton got the Fracture video unblocked so you can now watch it in its entirety. I requested that Robert preemptively keep this video unblocked, which he did.
      AAF is amazing. I interviewed him for this fracture series. Not sure if you saw that.

    I came back to enjoy this performance again but for some reason, possibly because it was familiar to a degree, I took note of something that didn't really catch my attention the first time around. The video's title. Now this might be easily obvious (though the obvious is often what we miss---it makes hiding in plain sight possible) or perhaps you'd call it splitting hares but, it isn't actually over whether you ever play this piece again or not. It isn't over until you are beneath the dirt.
    Now, just keep moving on and continue to excel and I shall continue to listen.… 😎🎸✌️

    There's an audio recording of Robert Fripp and Trey Gunn where Robert is demoing an (early?) Terror section to Trey, and asking him to play something in 5/8 overtop, and Trey is just like... uh... uh... He didn't know what to do with it at first, at all. Couldn't wrap his head around it. Suffice to say they ended up settling on a much different (and more appropriate) bass/Warr guitar part in the end.

    • @MakeWeirdMusic

      Yes. I found that recording somewhere a year or two ago. I think Trey shared it on facebook

    1. I love this channel, thanks.
    2. I know nothing about guitar playing so please go easy on me.
    Can someone explain to me in a nutshell why this is apparently so much more difficult than the kind of shred metal solo I see 12 year olds on RUclips bashing out all the time? Is it a question primarily of the stamina required, or the particular sequence of notes, or what? I've seen you play a lot of stuff that looks very demanding much more easily and comfortably than this.

    • @MakeWeirdMusic
      @MakeWeirdMusic  Год назад +1

      I did a series of videos about this called failure to fracture. I think there’s a playlist for it on my channel page. What did essentially comes down to is stamina, precision, and a lifestyle that enables one to perform a piece like this
