Those snaps are so you can put 2 ponchos together and make a larger tarp shelter. You can also add the poncho liner from USGI and the Arcturus Space blanket and make sleeping bag with it.
The Arcturus blanket doesn't have any corresponding snaps and only connects with the grommets, correct? I was checking out to see if they had the snaps but I couldn't seem to find any indication of it.
@@preparedforoutdoors You tie all three together with the strings on the poncho and poncho liner and then you snap the poncho together to make it into a sleeping bag. Lay your poncho flat then lay your Arcturus blanket on top of the poncho, reflective side up and the lay your poncho liner on top of the Arcturus blanket. Use the strings on the poncho and poncho liner tie it all together, then button up the poncho buttons. You have a makeshift sleeping bag also known as ranger roll in the military.

Tthis is not a military issue poncho, the description even states "Military Style". Also, the size is smaller than authentic military ponchos; a "real" one is 96"x66" not 86"x59".

Take the snap on the front, waist level and down one then snap them behind your back. Take the back flap and snap it waist level and down one as well.
The hood is designed to go over a helmet 🪖
