With the Toad having their shop visible, I suspect the phone works differently than actually visiting the shop. Maybe because you don't know which shop they called, and you need to know which shop is now down an item (if any shops have overlap in items)
10:10 I think for that custom dice, i probably would have rolled onto the happening on the top path to push everyone away from the star, while still guaranteeing myself a happening space. Plus it puts you super close to the happening spaces after, so the creepy dice could have been used for a third one. Idk if thats a misplay tho
That is exactly what I was thinking too. That denies everyone of the star since everyone is on the top path, so they all have to go for another lap in order to get another chance. When you're hard focusing on playing for the bonus star, low star econ is great since it gives the others less means to get enough of a lead to deny you the win, and the resulting higher coin econ doesn't matter because the bonus star can't be stolen by boo. That was definitely a misplay.

Nintendo Internet is pretty awful. You can be streaming, drop no frames and yet you disconnected from the server in whatever game you're playing. You can see stuff like that all the time in any switch game.
